This was a pretty interesting Tim Burton film. A deceased couple hire a "bioexorcist" to get rid of people who moved into their home. A few funny moments include the dinner scene where they all sing The Banana Boat Song.

Fave rant:
Ah. Well... I attended Julliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen THE EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY! NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? Do you think I'm qualified?

Along with "Pee Wee's Big Adventure," "Beettlejuice" (1988) is probably Tim Burton's best work as a director. As other comments noted, the story revolves around the efforts of a (now deceased) young classic 80's clean yuppie couple (ie Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) to haunt their old home so that the new residents, an artsy yuppie couple (ie Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones, the latter of "Ferris Bueller" fame) will leave. Playing the ghoul for hire is Michael Keaton as Bettlejuice, easily Keaton's best and most memorable role. While I don't particularly care for Keaton, his comedic style and mannerisms were made for this role, and this match is what makes the film work. The darker animation and special effects are relatively subtle for a Burton film, which also results in a more enjoyable movie (as Burton often overplays this aspect).

The movie has a few serious moments, which don't really do it any credit, but when it's funny, it's hilarious.

One of my favorites. When I was younger I could watch this movie over and over. I haven't seen it in years but just thinking about it gives me good nostalgia. Michael Keaton was great. Contrast this character he played against the character Batman and you realize what a different sort of guy he is. I loved all the scenes when Barbara and Adam are in that waiting room there to see Juno. Some funny stuff in there. The guy with the teeny tiny little head, the swimmer with the shark eating half his body, the guy with the bone in his throat (actually that one looked pretty disgusting) and the rest. The animation was cool too. Good movie.

This one is a classic! Come on. Sure the plot was a bit out of whack, but the acting and the dialogue made this movie so hilarious. My favorite scene is probably either the wedding scene at the end or when Bettlejuice is trying to get Lydia to guess his name. Michael Keaton was the perfect choice for the role of Bettlejuice. I'll always enjoy watching this movie- it's a classic! "I'm the ghost with the most, babe."

Micheal Keaton's shining moment. This is a true must-see in the comedy world.

The only movie that I absolutely hated in the theatre then changed my mind about when I saw it on cable. I own the DVD now.

How can anyone give this movie a four?! Beetlejucice is a classic. Not only was the movie great, but the cartoon was funny as hell. Literally. This is a good film to watch when you want to see Michael Keaton in his prime.

I've always loved beetlejuice ever since I was five (I know, I must have been a gross kid). Nevertheless, it was an entertaining movie. Cool costumes. Darn I wish I could give it a 3.5!!!!!

Beetlejuice is a movie that stars Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis as a wholesome, loving couple who get into a car accident, and drown. They eventully awaken from the dead to be greeted by a crazy zombie guy named Beetlejuice played by Micheal Keaton. It depends, you will either think that Beetlejuice is funny and amusing or annoying and dumb.

When I saw this movie I really loved it. I thought it was hilarious. Really weird, but really funny.
