Hit 20 or more homeruns each of the 6 yrs he was there, added a few more Gold Gloves, and was selected to 5 All Star games in the process. Yea, I'de say he's up there!

Classy talent, had all the tools early on, though he's more of an Expo than a Cub, and had more of his best years in Montreal. My all time Cub team, based on dominance/ career: catcher-Hartnett, first base - Anson, then probably Frank Chance who was more dominant in his time than Grace was in his, not that I'm knocking Grace..second base Sandberg, shortstop Banks, third base Santo..outfielders Billy Williams, Hack Wilson, and Sosa, pitchers 3 Finger Brown, John Clarkson, Jenkins, Maddux,Alexander, closer Sutter.

I love #1JohnDoeFan's comments about Harry and Steve. I used to watch WGN a lot when it was a national station, and I really enjoyed Andre. He became a free agent at Montreal and went to the Cubs and gave the GM a blank contract! What a classy guy. That was the year the Cubbies won their division.

I used to love watching The Hawk come up with the bases loaded and hearing Steve Stone have to correct the late great Harry Carey that the bases were in fact not loaded. LOL Very close to Hall-of-Fame considerations. One of the best Cubs of all time.
