how can a man like him who( like other politions) has his hands covered with blood be a man of peace! the only person who realy was A MAN OF PEACE was yitzhak rabin! and he was killed for being one!

Ariel Sharon is really a hero, and he is my favorite man. I have a joke for him.Long ago, when sailing ships ruled the waves, a captain and his crew were in danger of being boarded by a pirate ship. As the crew became frantic, the captain bellowed to his First Mate, "Bring me my red shirt!" The First Mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt, which the captain put on and led the crew to battle the pirate boarding party. Although some casualties occurred among the crew, the pirates were repelled. Later that day, the lookout screamed that there were two pirate vessels sending boarding parties. The crew cowered in fear, but the captain, calm as ever bellowed, "Bring me my red shirt!" And once again the battle was on, however, the Captain and his crew repelled both boarding parties,although this time more casualties occurred. Weary from the battles, the men sat around on deck that night recounting the day's occurrences when an ensign looked to the Captain and asked, "Sir, why did you call for your red shirt before the battle?" The Captain, giving the ensign a look that only a captain can give, exhorted, "If I am wounded in battle, the red shirt does not show the wound and thus, you men will continue to fight unafraid." The men sat in silence marveling at the courage of such a man. As dawn came the next morning, the lookout screamed that there were pirate ships, 10 of them, all with boarding parties on their way. The men became silent and looked to the Captain, their leader, for his usual command. The Captain, calm as ever, bellowed, "Bring me my brown pants!"

Ariel is going to take his place in history along his fellow-men (Hitler, Staline, Hirohito, Napoleon, etc...) by depriving a population of its sovereign rights, and bringing "peace" in Israel by means of slaughter. It is strange to notice that 60 years ago jews were persecuted by nazis, and nowadays cannot find any other way to their problems than persecuting palestinians. Looking to their past, if jews are not able to learn lessons of history, then it means than nobody will be ever able to do so. I don't think that Ariel can get by weapons and fear what his predecessor almost achieved by hearing what palestinians have to say. By bringing such a negative message to the world, Ariel would deserve a 0 star rating if it was possible to do so.

He is what Isreal needs right now.

I am a supporter of Israel, however, the Palestinian situation is heartbreaking. I cannot understand how Sharon can bring peace. His destruction of 45 Palestinian homes when one Israeli settler was killed in unconscionable. (1980's) Collective punishment is a terrorist act! How can he judge the Palestinians as terrorists when he is one himself. It was a tragedy when Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by his own people. Rabin was truly on the way to peace. Rabin had my total support. The Palestinians have placed a condition to stopping the violence. They insist on no more Israeli settlements on Palestinian land. This amounts to theft of Palestinian property. I advise everyone to watch the movie "Exodus." It is available on tape. I think it will be enlightening. It shows the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem by Menachim Begin, who later bacame Prime Minister, and his group. 85 people were killed! Who is a terrorist?

I'm no Israeli, but I can't see how you people can salivate over a man like Sharon. From what I've read, he's been nothing but trouble. Peace through strength? Come ON! It was because of him the whole trouble started in the Middle East. He KNEW that blood would be shed if he went to the temple, but he went anyway. Is this a man of peace? Yes, one must not back down to threats of terrorism, but this is ridiculous. And peace can come only if both sides coexist with one another, and that means concessions from both sides. Pride never solved anything.

I am hoping and praying with all of my heart and soul that Sharon will bring peace! I think now Israel needs a real leader, we have to see what Sharon will do. We have to see actions and not just hear words or promises. I think now Sharon will be good for Israel, but I don't think he can be a real leader. Everybody either loves or hates Sharon, but the Palestinians hate him. Sharon has a verry big reputation for doing things that he was not supposed to be doing. But he has different views from Barak, at least he won't give back Jerusalem. He was a great warrior and now we have to see if he will be a good Prime Minister. I think and hope Sharon will be good for Israel

Ariel Sharon should dispense with all the good tidings and attack attack attack untill all Arabs submit to our God Jehova as the God Who will destroy all who seeks the destruction of the apple of his eye, ISRAEL GODS NATION . God gave ISRAEL MUCH MORE THAN WHAT ISRAEL IS ASKING FOR. Vengance is mine sayeth the Lord My God.Vengance has never been for ISRAEL or anyone who judges another. Love one another always. Love even your Enemy and Pray for them. I'm sorry to see the Russians take the stand that they have and that is one that it has been Prophecied in the book of Revelation all but one seventh of the Great Bears army will be DESTROYED and one seventh will retreat back to Russia. To bad they are a nice people alot like the Americans or Chinese. The Americans are going to burn probably nuked by Russia or China, and the poor Chinese with there Army of Millions and no wives who will be slaughtered like lambs. What a shame what a lovely people. You Know we aren't all that different. We all want to belong, we all want to love and be loved. We want a family Keep them safe from the elements and those who wish to do us Harm .But let us be free and live a life of Liberty, So with all of this stated Sharon do what God has Made you to do. Be the Great WARING HERO he has made you. So be it . Pray for our Arab friends for it is they who are now going to the slaughter.God save the Queen.

Sorry for the off-taste people but facts are facts. I do not for the life of me see how you people speak so highly of Mr.Ariel Sharon, who has a but really dark past or history as you might want to be mentioned. While the most of you might be lauding that he is a better candidate than Ehud Barak..think again after reading this. 1. Sharon was responsible for the massacre of approz 69 unarmed women and children in the bombing of 45 houses in the village of Qibya,west Bank on October 1953 when he was a military officer commandering unit 101 of the Israeli Commandos. 2. As the former Defense Minister of Israel, Sharon had a hand in the massacre of approx 700 Palestinians in the refugee camps of Sabra and Shatilla by providing support and protection for the Lebanese militiamen who carried out the murders. So how can we support such a cruel human being such as Ariel Sharon, whom if fact should have been hauled up to The Hague and be tried for war crimes and inhumanity against mankind. I personally think that he should change his name to Azriel, which I think is more befitting for a beast like him. For the uninitiated, Azriel is the icon of Death.

Mr. Sharon is the man of the hour. He is a needed element in gleaning peace from the quagmire that Mr. Barak got his country into. A nation can only gain peace through strength. The U.S. would surly not survive long if we decided to get along with every other nation, at all cost. Mr. Sharon has proven himself a strong and willing leader of Israel. My hope is he will continue to lead unfalteringly and with wisdom as his predecessor led with uncertainty and little good judgment.
