Unbelievable atmosphere for a game..... the most intimate 20,000 seat arena ever and a state of the art facility.
hillcresthog 02/24/2003
Better than most NBA arenas. Truly a showcase!
Explr07 02/24/2003
Simply the best atmosphere in college basketball.
GatorPride 02/24/2003
It is absolutely one of the most loudest-intimidating places I have ever been for a college basketball game. It Rivals some NBA arena's I have visited in my travels.
dcw3034 02/24/2003
It has it all... outstanding fans... best building, not a bad seat in the arena, the loudest building I've ever been in and beautiful

GREAT ARENA WITH TREMENDOUS ATMOSPHERE FOR COLLEGE HOOPS.
Hooken'Hell 02/24/2003
I've seen pro arenas that weren't this nice
outlawhawgywel ls 02/24/2003
Have been to many arena's both college and pro and this arena is at or near the top, not a bad seat in the house even on the last row of the upper deck. Concourse is very wide, concession areas and rest rooms were well planned. The one thing to remember is this is a basketball only facility, so all the seats are designed to watch a ball game, they are close to the action. Then you add the Razorback atmosphere and you cannot help but get goosebumps as you set there and watch. You are part of the action.

Though Bud Walton seats 20,000, it is tight and does not feel like a huge canyon. Very intimate and noisy. Super facility aesthetically also.

The best in the WORLD!
houstonhog 02/24/2003
I live in an NBA town and that arena can't even compare to Bud Walton...what a wonderful place to watch a game...
secfan 02/24/2003
There is no competition here...BWA is the toughest place for opponents to play and the fan support of the Razorback fans is unparalleled. Best in the SEC...best in the Nation. Period.
jdawg1751 02/24/2003
Greatest arena in all the land. Atmospher is wild whether the Hogs are 4-12 or 16-0. Great place to watch a collge game, slightly better than BarnHill <also university of Arkansas> was.

Bud Walton Arena has to be one of the most underrated and overlooked basketball venues in the country. Just because Dickie V. doesn't visit it 8 times a year doesn't mean it isn't special (i.e. Duke !!!!) When you have almost 20,000 Hog fans cheering on the Razorbacks then almost no team is safe when playing here. Many SEC coaches respect the atmosphere and fervor that is accompanied while attending a Hog game. The floor is set on a myriad of springs so that when the crowd gets loud enough...the floor actually does shake with the noise !!! BWA holds about 20,000 and should be at least visited once (especially when Kentucky comes to town). BWA is a gem of an arena, and the Hog faithful and their Wooooo Pig Soiieeee cheers fill the place even when the teams are struggling. 17,000 will even fill the place when they play the most horrible teams. The crowd definitely adds to the atmosphere and intensity that is a part of the Razorback Basketball Tradtion. Come down sometime and experience Razorback Basketball, I promise you...you will not be disappointed.

The best atmosphere in college basketball!!!
docestes 02/23/2003
Truly a basketball palace. Every seat in the house is excellent, and there are a lot of them.
IMAHOG 02/23/2003
There is truly a major difference between arenas that are designed specifically for college basketball and those that are designed as 'multipurpose' venues (i.e. hockey, arena fball, etc). The seats at BWA sit right on top of the court. 12,000+ in the lower deck, only 6,000+ in the upper deck. Nearly a decade old, now, BWA is still the 'Crown Jewel' of college basketball arenas. As BWA was designed, there are more seats (and all chairbacks) located in a smaller area than in any other arena in the country. There tuly not a single bad seat in the house. And, for you ladies--there are actually TWICE as many restrooms for Females as there are for the men.....no lines for the ladies! IMHO, the only comparable arena in the country is the new arena at the U of South Carolina which is a few hundred seats smaller, but designed EXACTLY after the plans for BWA. Bring your earplugs--those fans can be deafening. As it has been deservedly dubbed, BWA truly the "Basketball Palace of Mid-America".
vbsworm 02/23/2003
the palace of the midwest..period.

WizardofhOgZ 02/23/2003
Beautiful venue with state-of-the-art amenities. Fabulous sight-lines, wonderful interactive basketball displays and momentoes. Several luxury suites. This is what a basketball arena should be like.
katocat13 02/23/2003
It is amazing to see the fans turn out even in a winning season. Wide variety of concessions; friendly staffers; Crowd friendly. Everyone should go at least once and just experience the atmosphere!
Hogules 02/23/2003
I have been to the majority of SEC basketball arenas, and to several Big 12 arenas/gyms, and would have to say that MOST of the other places look like "barns" compared to the plush surroundings found at B.W.A.!First of all it seats over 20,000, which makes it one of the largest on campus facilites in the nation. Every seat is a chairback seat (no bleachers) it is a VERY plush setting for a college basketball game. Bud Walton USE to be one of the most feared areans in all of college basketball, and will be again as soon as Stan Heath has his own recruits on campus, starting next season. One more note, whoever put Rupp arena as #1 has NEVER been to Rupp! A few seasons ago they (UK) announced that they were expanding the seating at Rupp arena.....ALL they did was move the lines they had drawn "ON THE BLEACHERS" closer together to allow for more bodies in the stands! You have MAYBE 11 inches of actual "butt-space" to sit on! And worst of all you are pressed into some fat 350 lb. woman wearing a blue sweater, cheering her fat butt off, and sweating like there's NO tomorrow! This arena just plain SUX!
flc1119 02/23/2003
Basketball palace of the south! 17,000 fans with a losing team record speaks for itself.
greyhound90 02/23/2003
Bud Walton is by far the best College basketball arena in America!
