Look,----while she's obviously aware that she's providing an entertainment product and not sitting in an actual courtroom, she's just a total jerk. She's shrill, strident, rude, nasty, insulting, and often just seems to shoot from the hip. I wonder how many times times she's stated that someone's lying when in fact they were not. Just an obnoxious know-it-all. When she says "On my worst day, I'm smarter than you on your best day", I just want to shoot her. I'll bet she's made more wrong decisions than any other TV judge. She's not a nice person at all. She assumes what a person is based on seeing them and hearing their comments for only 15 minutes. I hope most of it's staged, because she has no right to insult people the way she does.

When the show first came out I loved it. She dosen't let people pull one over and I love that about her. Recently I have not been impressed. She is mean when she really dosen't have to be. I'm all for letting people know who is the boss, but she just over does it.

The greatest show

This old bat gets savaged for not being a kindly grandmaw, but that's not what she's there for, and the march of idiot litigants who've faced her deserve to be raked over the coals, like the Prize Dummy who let his two Rottweilers loose at a picnic and one bit a little girl, and that fool actually blamed the CHILD. She keeps order like a librarian or a grandmaw, though, with a Ssshh! instead of a gavel, and nobody's forced to bring her their cases, so they know just what to expect. If they're not fully prepared for Judy's double-barreled approach, that's THEIR problem, along with her critics. I'll just continue to enjoy her and her sidekick Byrd as they forge pathways of understanding through the clouds of BS before them. U Go Girl!

She's a smart woman, but that perpetually sassy behavior is beneath her dignity. I certainly believe that judges and other authorities should be treated with respect. But respect is a two-way street. The way she behaves toward others (obviously because of the camera) reminds me of the old question: Upon what meat hath this, our Caesar, fed?

If you don't like Judy's no-nonsense, direct, gloves are off style, change the channel! I think she's the best on-air TV judge.

I find it very, very difficult to take a judge seriously who appears on TV and has their own show. Shes quit to cut-down people and tell them a personal thing or two, I salute the day someone serves her equally what shes dished out.

I like the I don't take any BS attitude she has and most of the time I agree with her verdicts. But I haven't watched it in a while because I can tell who's going to win the case after the first two minutes (most of the time), based on how she treats the planitiff or defendant.

Even though Judge Judy is extremley rough on everyone, she tells it like it is.

Judge Judy just tells it like it is. One comment towards the end stated, 'I watch her everyday and she just makes me sick!'. Well, if you watch her everyday then you're just helping her ratings to stay on the air. That's the stupidity she goes after. Someone else stated, 'She is more interested in perpetuating her bulldog image than in dispensing justice'. That is the main reason she was hired to have her proceedings televised...because of her 'bulldog' approach. She lays down the law and she has been doing it the same way even before I was born. People deserve to have their eyes openned by Judge Judy. There have been so many liars on her show and it just makes her sick. She knows how to ask the right questions and it better at what she does than any other 'JUDGE' show. If you watch her then other 'JUDGE' shows you will see why Judge Judy has been on the air. And for everyone whom has made negative comments about Judge Judy, 'On your best day, your not as smart as her on her worst day!'....

I believe that Judge Judy have her own opinion befor she hears the case. She is bushy, rude, and a lot of the time wrong. She never follows the law she has her own law. I feel her show needs to be cancaled.

I want to see Judge Judy go after Limbaugh,O'Reilly,Bush,Hannity,and Coulter. The looks on their faces would be priceless when she's done with them.

Judge Judy is smart and is hard to not agree with. Although, sometimes she goes over the edge where so could really inrease tempers. She needs to learn to keep it cool and to not get so carried away. If you're a public judge, you have to expect poeple to say things you may think are stupid, idiotic, and do not agree with. I still enjoy watching her show and find watching court cases fascinating. You learn quite a bit about laws.

The problem with Judge Judy is that she doesn't 'judge ' in the justice sense of the word.. She makes her mind up very very early in any case... then proceeds to berate the one she ahs decided is the loser, ignore any conflicting evidence and impose decisions that are most likely not legal in a real court. As such it is hard to find respect for her.

By far THE MOST ANNOYING show ever! She is so pompous; Acts as though she's the greatest thing since sliced bread. One thing i hate is how she yells at people asking them a question why did u take her money then?? why? WHY??? then the second they open their mouths to answer she hushes them and tells them to be quiet. The show is a total mockery! I can't even watch it without wanting to throw something at the TV.She never hears people out. You can tell she makes a decision within the first minute of the case. Rolling her eyes at everyone, sighing. When i watch the show i feel like the show is all about her.The litigants are just thrown in there to give her something to yap about while poor ol Burt stands there...someone should really buy that guy a pair of earplugs!!

Judge Judy has no respect for the litigants and can really be quite arbitrary in her judgments sometimes. The show actually makes me feel sorry for the litigants. Suffice it to say, she's really funny, but she's no Judge Milian.

I think that you morons who gave Judge Judy bad ratings should get some therapy. I think that some of you morons who gave her terrible and bad ratings were on her show being sued for unpaid loans, car damages, rent, etc,' and she yelled at you. But that's her job. there are so many irresponsible adults out there who deserve to be scolded by Judge Judy. There are irresponsible young women 18-25 who rip older men 30 and above off and freeload off them and use them for their money, stupid men who leech off their girlfriends and come up with stupid excuses for it, stupid lazy parents who let their kids steal from other people or vandalize their cars and come up with stupid excuses, gold digging young strippers who would like to sink their evil filthy fingers into mens' wallets, freeloading college girls who leech off their roommates, evil college girls who rip off their parents, and evil young college age people (especially women) who get into fights all the time. Judge Judy teaches these dumb people a lesson!

What ever happened to judge Wapner of the people's court? I can't help but think watching Judy that she has a chip on her shoulder. I can't imagine that this prune head would be a nice person outside of the court room either.

Her personality is a strong one and a rarity in famous women, but when she namecalls the people she brings on her show, It's going too far. Plus, She always interrupts her guests and rarely lets them get a word in. I don't believe that's justice.

If there was a rating lower than 1, then i would of choose it. This judge is the worst yet. She doesn't let the clients plea their cases right at all. All she does is cut them off, and speak over their voices. She also does a lot of unnecessary yelling. Two words of advice 'Early retirement'.

saw her show on domestic abuse, I have an abusive daughterinlaw, on meds and using illegal drugs..her Dr has closed her files until she goes into rehab..meanwhile my son has to stay in home for the protection of his children..when she goes into rages and comes at him (sometimes the children)he puts his hands out to stop her and then she calls police..children tell officers Daddy didnt touch Mommy but he is told to leave the premises, (and his children)she gets restraining orders whenever she likes and cancels them before going to court..he is pursuing this last order and goes to court tomorrow..ps he is 6ft2 and weighs 200lbs, if he ever touched her i am sure the marks would be there for officers to see...thx for telling it like it is, Judge..Barbara

This is one judge that I find a mystery of how she can get people to actually go on her show. She is RUDE, and a bitch.

OK, I realize that Judge Judy may come across harsh, but a judge sits on the bench to serve justice, not make friends. Also, have you read any of her books. She is an amazing woman with an incredibly strong sense of self. She's seen a lot and has realized that if you want to make a difference you have to speak up without worrying what others will think. You're right, she has no respect for some of the litigants that appear in her courtroom, but they don't exactly deserve it. People who dig themselves deeper into trouble with everything the do and then go looking to the system for a handout at everyone else's expense do NOT deserve respect. Judge Judy knows who she is. She likes who she is and she knows what she stands for. As an added bonus, she's not so intimated by stereotypes and the much-overestimated "peer pressure" so many of her defendants whine and complain about to speak her mind clearly. She isn't afraid to admit when she's wrong, but she doesn't give up when she right either just because it might hurt someones feelings. I have a great deal of respect for Judge Sheindlin, and I hope I am able to stand as strong in my ideals as she does when I become a lawyer one day. P.S. The next time you decide to condemn someone based on what you think you know, try a little research first. You might be surprised in what you find. I know Judy must certainly be at some of the things she discovers and has discovered due to her unwillingness to quit until she has done her best to ensure justice.

While I like a judge who has a "take no crap from anyone" type attitude, she does sometimes overdo it and is probably the least understanding judge I've ever seen. She comes across as being a certified psycho.
