Judge Mathis is a excellent judge. When people go to court it is a scary and nerve racking thing. Judge Mathis makes a terrible thing not so bad by bringing in humor. WHO CARES ABOUT HIS VOCABULARY???? I get tired of people that use there VOCABULARY to show off. Yes, he is ghetto thats what makes his show different then all the others. UPDATE- : I had to take two stars a way. The other day I saw him on tv knocking president Bush. I don't respect stars that get on tv and use there fame to knock this Nations leader. All stars that do that should be ashamed of themseleves.

To be truthfully honest, I just watch Judge Mathis for the laughs I get when he calls everybody crackheads and accuse them of being high. Everybody that comes on his show is either high or drunk in his opinion. I laughed my ass off when this guy was trying to explain his case but was stuttering and stammering and sweating all at the same time. You can tell the guy was nervous but ole' Judge Mathis shouted that he sounded like he was high and asked was he drunk but the dude said he was nervous cause it was his first time in court. Judge Mathis said his famous line well you sound lika drunk!. All in all Judge Mathis is good ole entertainment, nothing more nothing less.

Judge Mathis can be funny at times, however, he is way to harsh. I don't care what type of turn around he has made in his life that still does not give him the right to criticze people the way he does. He asks a lot of irrelavent questions and then blows the answers out of proportion. His favorite thing to talk about are crackheads, which makes me wonder if he's trying to find people just like him. Could Judge Mathis be a crackhead??

It's because of people like Judge Mathis that TV court shows get such a bad reputation. Mathis has managed to make a joke out of the legal system with his unnecessary insertion of political preferences and idiotic humor. As a lawyer, I find watching this show to be offensive to not only the judicial system but as an assault on human intelligence.

judge mathis is a 'crack head'. he is a phony. he only makes a mockery of the real justice system. you don't even get sworn in. i wouldn't let him judge a baking contest. he and his bailiff are sexual perverts. he should be taken off the air immediatly. i doubt his judicial status in detroit. this i all know 1st hand.

Mathis is definitely biased politically and racial.He makes it clearly known that he's anti Bush which has no place in small claims court.An outlet for a campaign plug,if you will.Every educated white person seems to intimidate him therefore he feels that it's necessary to ridicule them for their proper dialect and upbringing.This is not the behaviour of a profesional judge.He's meerly a TV personality.

Poor listener. Plays more to the camera than taking care of the issues. Thinks he is on a comedy show. Judge Mathis complains about drama, but contributes 90% of the drama to his courtroom.

How could anyone think that Judge Mathis is a goood judge. He is extremly unrefined and ghetto. It's as if he got his license out of a cracker jack box. A judge should have a more vast, challenging vocabulary. I speak better than him and I don't have a formal education. He is easily swayed by emotion and often overlooks the facts of a case. I am African American and hate is a strong word, but considering he has an opportunity to show that not only he avoided becoming a statistic, but that he got a good solid education, and was not appointed his position because of his sob story, but instead he doesn't dispel these assumptions, he falls into them. He's always looking for an opportunity to be funny, if your naturally funny it will show why go out your way to be an ass. He constantly sides with the audience, he is not unbias as he should be. The most predictable thing about Judge Mathis is that he's going to belittle women on this show, particularly the white women. I'm an African American woman and even I notice it. The show I just saw was ridiculously biased against the plaintiff. Mathis ridiculed her because the plaintiff went to her mother's house to do laudry. The fact that she stayed two days seemed unbelievable to the judge. The mother, naturally, said the plainiff could have stayed as long as she wanted..she was a single mother with a 5 month old baby. His belitting response was insulting and insentive. The woman appearing before him was clearly a struggling but straight flying woman who's been harrassed by her landlord unfarily. Judege Mathis' macho, marginally racist, and misogynistic point of view prevented him from seeing it. I can't understand why any intellegent person would want to appear before him.

Judge Mathis should not be a judge. He's rude, and sometimes just plain annoying.

Definitely the cream of the crop of this genre. A sense of humor, a streetwise attitude, and days when he's just had enough and isn't afraid to show it! I tune in just to see what kind of mood he's in!! I've even talked others into jumping onboard. You know how hard it is to get veteran soap watchers to broaden their horizons? But Mathis is definitely worth a spin up the dial!

Ok to watch at times, but there are better court shows out there.

It's TV people. What makes daytime TV that gets rating? Sex, violence, and DRAMA. He has to be a bit dramatic to get ratings, to get paid. If he wanted to be a normal, everyday, mild-mannered, judge - he wouldn't have a job.

i really like the show. judge mathis is entertaining and of course, wise. there were a couple of female "scamers" he believed. i think all of the court shows should have youthful consultants, maybe from the"hood" or mobile parks, to the judges aware of the mentality out there.

Definately not one of the better judges or court TV shows. Judge Mathis is very biased with certain people, and he definately picks his favorites whether it is right or not ! But there are times I think he has a heart, so I will give him 2 stars instead of 1. But I wouldn't recommend the show to anyone.

I rate the worst Court TV show as Judge Hatchett, next worse is Mathis, then Sheinlein. Judge Brown is the best. Mathis has no control whatsoever over his courtroom. Participants yell/scream at each other and NO ONE can be understood, then he berates those that he shouldn't, and dosen't those that he should. What initiated this comment was his dramatic difference regarding a women that said her 14 y.o. daughter (just became pregnant) was not a good daughter because she would not clean her room, did not help with dishes, housework, etc. Mathis's opinion was 'WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT? Maybe Mathis was raised by Dr. Spock??? I've watched his last episode today!!

Judge Mathis is, hands down, the best judge show on television. This is because he blends accurate decisions all while being entertaining. It's hilarious how he sniffs out lies before they are even told to him. He seems to always be correct in analyzing a scandalous person, and his decisions are always fair. Plus he can actually relate to younger generation. Rather than shriek at litigants, and make false accusations, like Judy, he'll embarrass an offbeat litigant by revealing his/her true nature. Mathis is funny, entertaining, understanding, compassionate, and makes accurate decisions in seemingly every case. Great show.

I agree 100% with bostonbob, I too was duked into believing that the "Juge Mathis" show was real. I have never seen it because the show does not air in my area, I still haven't seen the show I was on as well and it's been several months. They also refuse to send me a tape of the show when before hand I was promised a copy. It was all an act, a joke on me. And it was not worth it, I am still in shock and depressed at what they done to me, I want to take 'Judge Mathis" to court for negligence/defamation of character/ slander/mental and emotional distress and whatever else. Imagine being called a PROSTITUTE on national t.v. It was awful! He declared me guilty before I even had a chance to speak.I'm am still hurt over this. I had a legitiment case and I thought this show was real. How do you live after that? This makes a person suicidal. People's lives are not a game. He is a very cold/calculating/careless man and his job is to humiliate/destroy you. And this show should be held accountable for ruining people's lives. I don't even have a record and the person who was calling me these names is a felon!

I love Judge Mathis because of where he came from and where he is today. This should be an inspiration to all of us saying you can do what you want no matter what the circumstances are.

From all of the comments that I have read about Judge Mathis, I can only conclude that a majority of you are a bunch of haters. Even though Jugde Mathis can be a little obnoxious at times, I really don't see any blind justice being practiced in his court room. You guys think that his show looks like a knock off the Jerry Springer show?? Well, that's because many of the defendants and plaintiffs on the show act dumb, ghetto and ignorant. How this show is tied in the ratings with Judge Hatchett is beyond words.Judge hatchet should be up there with Judge Milian of Peoples Court. This Mathis guy is another one that just sits back and lets the litigants fight it out.There is no order in this courtroom at all and when he speaks its to insult people or to speculate on the real facts of the case.I have even heard him make insults to people by the way the look or speak. Many times I have heard him respond to a plantiffs accusation and actually follow with an insult or with something like "no kiding so thats what you did " instead of asking if its true he immediatly takes the plantiffs word.Many times I have seen that and then seen him finaly get to the bottom of things and realize the plantiff was lying.But do you think he has the GUTS to appologize to the defendant,not quite. Judge Mathis has a prejudice side to him and doesn't belong on the bench making desisions that effect the lives of people.

The Judge Mathis show is the best court room show on television. The judge gives practical advice and he is very concerned about seeing that justice is carried out.

I agree that Mathis's show is more like the Jerry Springer shows. He allows too much nonsense on his show with people talking and screaming at each other instead of to him.... needs to get tough!

I don't care how much money they offer, I would never have my case heard on judge Mathis because he is known to abuse people! Come on Bob, didn't you know what you were getting yourself into? As for the show, I think it's like watching a train wreck. Awful, but you can't help but watch and feel sorry for the people dumb enough to subject themselves to his court. pretty low-brow entertainment.

The man is a sell-out! I used to ADORE him; everything about him really inspired me--turning his thug life around and fighting against all odds to prove himself worthy and deserving as a supreme court justice. Wow, I mean, that really is impressive! So now, what does he do? He throws it all away by selling out to be another TV judge! I WAS ON HIS SHOW YET TO BE AIRED IT WAS A CASE THAT INVOLVED MY WIFE AND MOTHER-IN LAW, IT ENDED UP BEING A CASE BETWEEN ME AND MY MOTHER-INLAW I GOT THROWN OFF THE SHOW COMPLETELY HUMILIATED BY JUDGE MATHIS HE WOULDN'T LOOK AT ANY OF OUR EVIDENCE WE HAD Q-CARDS TO READ FROM,THEY REHEARED YOUR CASE WITH YOU BEFORE YOU GO IN THE MOCK COURT ROOM, THEY TELL YOU THINGS TO DO TO HELP YOUR CASE NONE WHICH THE JUDGE LIKES THE AUDIENCE IS TOLD WHEN TO LAUGH AND WHEN TO CLAP. I ENDED UP BEING CALLED A WOMAN BEATER AND RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING FROM WIFE AWAY FROM HER MOTHER.(BOTH ARE NOT TRUE.) Out of all the court shows on television, Judge Mathis wins hands down. He doesn't take a lot of crap from people, and he's fair.

I love the Judge Mathis show. I love Judge Mathis,period! I can tell that he is a good and sensitive man. By watching his show, I have learned a lot about the judicial system. I am a big fan! Judge Mathis speaks the truth and says what other people are afraid to say. He also knows what to say and when to say his humorous comments.He basically tells the truth. He is the best judge because he knows both sides of the world. Judge Mathis also gives people a cance to explre their talent. Yall can say whatever yall want about Judge Mathis. I agree with Bonnie Blue...Judge Greg Mathis is arrogant, he does not listen, he yells (like an idiot). He'd better be careful that he doen't stroke out. Also, I'm tired of hearing about "how he overcame adversities". He should overcome the idiotic behavior that he displays on T.V. and act like the professional that he claims to be.

I just love the show. He does have alot of court room humor, however, he has alot of great advice. He truely cares about the people who come into his court. God Bless Brendon Moran, I shall miss him.

A good judge gone bad. Not so very long ago, I would have given him at least 4 stars, but here lately it seems he's undergone a personality change. He's become arrogant, he doesn't listen, he makes snap judgements that are not based on the facts of the case but on whether he "likes" the person (same as Judge Snooty Sheinlein), if anyone fidgits he accuses them of being an actress or a drama queen, and it seems that he views most of the people who come to his court to be crack addicts regardless of the circumstances. I guess I'll keep watching for a while but if he doesn't get back to normal soon, I'm outta here!

I used to be a fan of Judge Mathis, but lately his show has become a nother Jerry Springer episode. His conduct is oftem inappropiate and unprofessional. He is a bad representation of the judicial system. He does not listen to the people before him and his comments are degrading and rude most of the time. He is another Judge Judy with a ghetto flare. Watching the show should not make you angry, but it is an unpleasant experience and he should be held accountable as though he were on the bench and not let his celebrity go to his head

The only person that is a worse judge is Judge Judy. Judge Mathis uses degradation and very rude comments about people......always eager to poke fun and ridicule. I think he is in the right job to stroke his ego but certainly does not have the right approach to dealing with people who are having difficulties in their life.

Typically a decent judge, but on a few occasions, he lets personal feelings cloud his judgment. A decent judge, like I said, but still not the top recommended court of choice for justice.

He is the best...If you dont think so..who is better?
