Which came first: The role Lane Smith played in Eddie Murphy's "Dinstinguished Gentleman" or Tom Delay? Whichever, it's virtually impossible to distinguish one from the other.
The man is a convicted felon...which begs the question: which reporting genius keeps taking the stake out of his heart? I'm not naive, I know that controversy sells, but can't we just say NO! to Delay?
And now, NOW, he wrote a book where he gives his libelous opinions about anyone who doesn't kiss his ring. He's even voiced his Oz-based torture of reality on the House & Senate combined Iraq Invasion budget.
I have a good friend--imagine that--who maintains that once your career is at a certain level, he calls it the Political Stratosphere of Power, you cannot fail...sure, you may do a little jail time, but that'll be no more than a speedbump in your headlong rush to do evil shrouded in the flag. Well, that'd be guys like Delay.

Tom fookin' DeLay ! - I can't possibly concieve of the existence of a better spokesperson for the Republican Party's militant Jihad wing, the religious-right. Welcome back! It's really nice to see that you've emerged out from under your rock, Congressman!
If I'm remembering this correctly, Tom "Indict Me Now - Pay Me Later" DeLay was the keynote speaker for "Justice Sunday II" - but, in defense of the TV evangelists and Dr. Dobson's team of over-worked psychiatrists, they only hired Tom DeLay because THEIR FIRST CHOICE, the abortion clinic bomber, Eric Robert Rudolph - couldn't make it - due to a scheduling conflict involving prison de-lousing and weekly shower time.
Nobody does the "THE BIG LIE"-boogie better than our boy Tom DeLay. He's out pushing that ignorant old "Hitler was a Liberal" lie again - and THAT ONE even gets under the skin of the Republican Party's AIPAC friends confederates and unindicted co-conspirators!
Look, delusional Jesusy GOPified Americans; this isn't rocket surgery! The Nazis are STILL AROUND! Go up to the very next goose-stepping, Sieg Heiling, right-wing piece-of-shit you see and tell him that his beloved leader and his most admired hero was a liberal non-Christian! ...and PLEASE: Video the encounter for us liberals, we could really use a good laugh on YouTube!
The First Church of Hitlerian Nazis really needs some new members too, so all of you silly Tom DeLay-Republicans and Tom Delay-Christians are invited to take your delusions and air them out THERE too! National Vanguard is one of the "friendlier" pro-Nazi web site, Tom DeLay is getting SERIOUS props there, for his BIG LIE work. Also, you should probably check-out www.NSM88.com (*the 8's stand for the 8th letter of the alphabet, "H" - "HH"= "Heil Hitler".) Tom DeLay obviously wants you to really dig-in and research Adolph Hitler, and, as a liberal, I can say that I really want you follow Tom's lead!

So this corrupt thug may be re-elected in Houston. I have a friend down there who disagreed with him on a particular issue, but made herself known that she voted for him. Apparently his "staff" (or da Hammer himself) did not take kindly to this letter and wrote a nasty letter back to her, letting her know she was being removed from their mailing list. Everything wrong with the current state of the U.S. administration can be summed up by "Delay." Arrogance. "Your with us, or against us." Blowhard. Criminal.
Drummond 03/08/2006
Well, he hasn't won re-election, but only renomination. And with 64% rather than his usual 90%. And the money he's raising to be re-elected is money that won't be going to other right wing candidates. And hey, it would be a tragedy to Democratic fund raising efforts if he wasn't re-elected!
oscargamblesfr o 01/08/2006
Ah yes, good old DeLay. Aside from his recent difficulties, his persona absolutely fits his former occupation- exterminator. That must be a bad rug that he has. About as likeable a personality as a cobra. Should've recorded a rap album as Ratkilla.. at least as bad as fellow Texan boor, the ludicrously named Dick Armey...
brownie 01/04/2006
He's against abortion here, yet, he supports forced abortion on the island of Saipan. Hum.
jeleco 11/26/2005
The only reason he gets one star is because he was good at fund raising (using what ever means necessary). He is the most arrogant, condesending, holier than thou A-hole to ever serve in public office.
JackCox 10/25/2005
Absolutely Corrupt to the Core, A walking special interest, But I will admit despite the face I disagree with him on every major issue. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, he was a damn good majority leader who knew how to get legislation passed. When he was whip he once whipped 300 out of 303 bills successfully, that's pretty damn impressive.
CanadaSucks 09/28/2005

Gerrymandering, hypocritical and now indicted, bucket of swine piss - But I gotta raise him a star cause faced the cameras and lied his ass off like the seasoned pro that he is. Good job Tommy! I'm sure half the population was convinced...

GenghisTheHun 07/19/2005
He is not likeable, but a good leader and gets done what must be done. Working by consensus in the House would be like herding cats. You gotta crack the whip!
magellan 05/11/2005
Is becoming a real liability to his party... GWB would do well to rein this man in. It's hard to claim the moral high ground when one of your most visible leaders will do anything, legal or not, to attain political victory.
weatherdude 02/12/2005
A man who has escaped all blame in both the ENRON disaster, use of illegal gerrymandering in re-districting of state of Texas to turn the whole state republican, and despite many criminal practices, is still in elected office. Whow. Texas sure can be stupid sometimes. Politically-wise, he is the re-incarnation of Joseph McCarthy, but without the scare tactics...for now. Bad news is, most politicians are afraid of his threats to use pesticides and other chemicals if they don't bend his way. WMD anyone?

Here's a guy who once told a waiter at a restaurant that he was the government. Apparently he wrote that clause into the constitution. As Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Tom DeLay welds a significant amount of power in Washington. Indeed, really he runs the Congress. Dennis Hastert is an amicable figure whose power is largely figurative. DeLay, a former exterminator from Texas, leads the cultural conservative coalition with an iron hand. He plays hardball, but that's not where I take issue with him. In politics its all fair game. DeLay went to Washington to help out business, something which is absolutely fine in my book. Problem is that when he finds some moral piccadillo that he wants to fix, he will stop at nothing to use government intervention to stop it. For instance, he is the first person to advocate that the FCC charge money to tv networks who violate decency rules. Now I know that DeLay said he is the government, but where does it say in the Constitution that the government has a right to censor? Maybe the media is slimy, but the whole thing sets a bad precedent. Some people like DeLay promote liberty, but really, these sanctimonious types are the ones we have to watch out for the most.

We need a negative rating on the scale. This thug is illegally trying to disenfranchise Democrat Texas voters. Kudos to the guys who fled to Oklahoma and New Mexico; even if they don't get their way, they can make pint-sized gasbag bust a blood vessel or two. There's another possible upside to all this; apparently about 80% of Texans disapprove of this loophole redistricting, and there's an election next year.
OkieAirForceBr at 08/04/2003
This bucket of crap was in a government building's restaurant smoking a cigar when the manager came up to him to tell him that there was no smoking in government buildings. Know what this slime said? "I am the government".
bobthewonderdo g 06/15/2003
So blatantly willing to throw aside decent behavior to consolidate his own power base.
frankietwoputt s 04/24/2003
This is one scary dude; a "Bug Whacker" ie. former exterminator who is now one of the most powerful people in Congress. The absolute worst of what the right wing of the Republican Party is capable of producing, Corrupt, intolerant, and the epitome of the I got mine, and the hell with you attitude that Big Business pays for as they organize their shills in Congress.
Joe23665 03/22/2003
Wish we could De-Lay his schemes.
JTree 02/24/2003
Although I agree with Tom Delay's politics, he is a very nasty customer. That is why he's known as 'The Hammer'. I would suggest he ratchet it down a few notches and take a lesson from the fall of Newt Gingrich, who had it all in 94 but virtually gave Clinton all the ammunition he needed to win in 96. Otherwise, Bubba would've been out of there. Please Tom. Being the majority whip is not the same as killing bugs in Fort Worth. Just like Newt, you could end up being another Clinton whipping boy.

The Hammer of the Wicked.
Solenoid DH 02/27/2002
I can't help but admire a man who has more courage that I have. During the impeachment hearings, the Press/liberals/Democrats (all are synonymous) tried their best to intimidate him into NOT seeking the truth. DeLay showed nerves of steel. Most Republicans, when they see trouble, will run for the tall grass.
Rusty 06/14/2001
I wish I could give an anti-matter rating to this former pest exterminator from Laredo, Texas. When this pathological liar was elected to the House from his Houston district, he entered government with a vow to help business and industry---which, in and of itself, isn't wrong---but to accomplish this goal at the expense of the poor, the indigent, the homeless, gutting social programs that were designed to benefit minorities and give them a helping hand, the Peace Corps, VISTA, environmental laws (DeLay was instrumental in eliminating or severely curtailing such laws in Texas because his pesticide company used chemicals that had been banned by the EPA but were accepted and even encouraged when he lived in Venezuela, where he began his company), federal safety regulations, and so forth. His name is certainly befitting regarding his legislative style in Congress. He's an intolerant bully with a pathological hatred of federal government (which he represents) and its laws designed to protect us from excesses (hence checks and balances). He's a notorious arm-twister who has done, and will do, anything just this side of the law to fight campaign-finamce reform because it's a threat to the way he does business in Houston and in Washington. He's not above accepting PAC money from questionable sources who, reportedly, are under federal investigation (no surprise here). He's for Tom DeLay, and Tom DeLay alone. This guy is no one to sneeze at. He's a master fund-raiser who has contributed to just about every right-wing wacko group, paramilitary or not, out there. I wonder if he is Charlton Heston's love slave.

I know Tom personally as a man interested in promoting fairness and solid moral principles not only in government but amoung his constituents as well. He is a leader amoung a growing number of Christian politicians who actively pray for this country and their role in it's leadership. This man is a man of our times...and is in EXACTLY the right place at EXACTLY the right time.

I'm the 4th to vote. So far, 1 said great, one said good, one said terrible. How is it that terrible rates 50 percent. Is this site one of Clinton's affiliates? What in the hey is going on here? For that, I'm voting great to even things out. I'm just a Limbaugh Zombie.
Ruby 12/19/2000
So I guess the Left needs a new whipping boy, since they can't figure out how to demonize GWB. But what has DeLay done to merit this? He was key in getting House Repubs to inspect the evidence collected by the independent counsel during impeachment (Dems didn't bother to read through witness testimony, but why should that trouble anyone?), which led them to vote for the articles. Sounds like a bread and butter Texas conservative to me, and not the "bigoted self-centered Nazi" that some moron on this board claims. Sure, he believes in the Constitution and traditional moral values. I differ with him on several issues, but I won't join in the charade that he's a bad person.
bushcheated 12/18/2000
Not only was he a bad exterminator, he is a bigoted self-centered Nazi! His whole career is based upon hate and divisiveness. Hopefully the so-called people that he represents will wake up and realize that his real motive is nothing but his own idea of white Christianity! He should be exiled to the former South Africa!
