Chewing with mouth open can be a gross thing to watch. Especially if I am within earshot, because they are usually making a lot of noise too. I try and not look at them. One thing I have found is most people who when informed that they are eating with their mouth open look at you with disbelief and insist they are not! I think that most of them really do believe they are not. Besides, this does not bother me as much as when someone talks on the phone to me and decides to eat.Nothing like having someone smack thier lips right in my ear.

This is positively one of the worst habits one can have. It is annoying to listen to, digusting to watch and generally bad mannered. It gets even more annoying when the person in question refuses to admit that they do it.

Let’s see, how can I look like a bimbo without changing my clothes or hair? Oh yes, jam about 3 sticks of gum in my mouth and chomp and smack loudly with my mouth wide open. This one goes right along with popping gum. I’m sure there must be some males who do this – though I honestly can’t think of one instance. Mostly it brings to mind a young woman in her teens or twenties with a kind of glazed look on her face and an apparent IQ to match her hat size. Classic dorkiness at its most irritating.

The other day I was absolutely mesmerized by a woman chewing with her mouth open. (It was kind of like driving by the scene of an accident and being unable to resist the urge to look.) This woman was grinding away on her sandwich, and every morsel of food was visible as she chomped and chomped. Her manner of eating reminded me immediately of those packs of wolves you see tearing at a carcass on the Discovery Channel. Thankfully, I was far enough away to avoid being subjected to the sound effects, of which I'm sure there were many. I can forgive children for chewing with their mouths open, but I don't think adults have any excuse for this uncouth behavior.
