These smokes just have something specisal about them, they have been around for over 100 years, theyre featured in films such as GoodFellas, they have an original name, original packaging, original slogans and original taste. Also the commercials make me laugh. I agree with most of the reviews here, and I found that I had to comment on the best smoke ever. Lucky Strike, It's Toasted.

It's a terrible reason but I'll occasionally smoke these for sentimental value. My great uncle used to smoke luckies. I do like the taste. thery're smoother than Camel nonfilters but stronger than Pall Malls. Anyone who wants to see old ads, including one or two Lucky Strike ads, go to classictvads.com and check out the commericals. It's a pretty cool site.

Yowza. Beware ye all who enter here. The closest you'll come to a cigar with white paper and a bit of sponge at the end, both in taste and magnitude. A very nice smoke with a very unique flavour - if you can stomach 'em. Not for you light smokers - one of these puppies will blow your head off. Like myself, for example - I once smoked 11 in a row and nearly collapsed. Enough said.

Not bad, but not terribly easy to find and I don't go out of my way to get them. Occasionally buy a pack for the nostalgic value.
nofx91l 07/16/2006
if u want a buzz, get the filterless, nuff said. an amazing smoke! satisfied after only one! buy em, smoke em, buy em again!

The great American cigarette! They're toasted, dammit!
kayliebear84 06/06/2006
I tried one of these when I was completely out, broke, and was starting to get deperate. They taste alright, they really do...but not even half way into it, I started getting chunks in my throat. Maybe I'm just used to the fliter?
izerouse 01/21/2006
My favorite cigarette of all time. The toasted flavor... The coolness of the package. This is the greatest cigarette of all time. You will not regret it. I can't put this into words how much I love this cigarette!
hotel283 01/20/2006
Only smoked one ever, I bummed it off a Japanese sailor in Hawaii. Standard American cigarette albeit quote strong. Love them just for their iconic nature - my mind can't envison the classic American dog-face GI, circa WWII, without a crumpled pack of Luckys in his pocket.
mattji104 01/04/2006
"It's Toasted" and I love it, unfiltered hits hard and gives you an awesome high, i havent tried the filters but i will Awesome flavour, pretty slow burn, just make sure you tap the end you light on something a few times to avoid getting tobacco in your mouth, such an easy pull and full flavour
niceporch 10/06/2005
I liked the first few. But after a pack, I didn't care for them. They're too dry and have a weird toasted flavor.

The Lights were ok but uninspiring

A woman I knew in childhood smoked these things constantly. In my mind's eye, I can still see the smoke curling up around her yellowed fingers. Needless to say, she's dead now from what was described as Classic smoker's cancer. It manifested itself first as a brain tumor, but the cancer had actually originated in the lung. The brain tumor was successfully removed, but she died soon afterward from the lung cancer. It was not a pleasant death.

the kind without filter is very good ... better than the camel in the same kind ...
redfront 03/03/2005
A great cigarette. The only reason to get these is fot the unfiltered kind. The filters are good too but not really that much different from your basic cigarette. Getting back to the non-filters, they are really strong, but really good. Just a heads up, they'll knock you on your ass if you're not careful. Also, another problem is that you sometimes get tobacco in your mouth when smoking these which is very unpleaseant.

It's hard to put into words why I love Lucky Strikes so much. I dunno if it's the great taste, the elegant package, or the image associated with it. For me, Luckies will always contain memories. With each one I smoke, I think about the time I kissed that girl under the stars, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't wash her smell out of my sweatshirt. Maybe it's the time Tim and I let our legs dangle off the dock, as we talked about what we were gonna do after we got out of school. As somebody who lives in a permanant state of nostalgia, Luckies are important, because they remind of good times, good tunes, and good friends.

Good strong cigarette. Would have smoked them more if they where longer. But good to smoke. Tasty. Gives a good kick.
Roller 07/14/2004
STRONG. They have such a rich, thick and tasty flavor, I wanted to smoke a lot more of them, but my poor throat SCREAMED, GIVE IT A REST!!! They are good and the after taste is super, but they are a wee bit hard on the throat.
CornCob 07/06/2004
Have to change my rating to 5 stars because I can't stop smoking them. They have become my favorite smoke (other than pipe). Nutty flavor and good after taste.
fluffy nuggets 06/23/2004
I like them for the funny little random fun facts about working for the Tobacco Company notes. They're an alright smoke, however the unfilterds are a little on the harsh side for me
capnnapalm720 06/05/2004
They taste great, but TOO STRONG. I'll try the lights and see how that goes.
kolby1973 10/24/2003
I never did care for Lucky Strike cigarettes, but they do have there place in the Age of Innocence history of tobacco. I know alot of older people who still enjoy these cigarettes...
ahmadhaggag 09/30/2003
Ok. Frist of all lukies are since 1910's They are ancient and great cigarettes.Second they put the finest tobaccos ur money can buy*But they also add some chemical additives*The design is amazing definetly my brand. And when i go to a wedding or a hotel*STYLISH* i pick some Davidoff They also RULE.
Mrsublime 09/28/2003
I think you either love Lucky's or ya hate em. simple as that. They have a reputation, like I've had people come up to me and say "you're smokin a Lucky? are you trying to kill yourself?" but it's something about the taste and the feel of the strong smoke that you can't get with any other kind of cig. I love em after a good date, or as an after dinner smoke.
Chopper12 08/13/2003
Luckies really do have a unique toasted flavor. I love these cigarettes. I can't always find them though. I prefer them with filters because I am kinda wimpy. I smoke a pack a day, just to make sure no one mistakes me for some sort of pinko commie.
LSMFT 06/09/2003
Luckies were there for our boys in the trenches of WWII, they're an American original. They're a real man's cigarette, so go out and buy a carton now, even if you don't smoke.
martinitime 06/04/2003
I don't know why I like them so much; I think it has to do with the "it's toasted" on the package.
NightShade 04/07/2003
Definately an interesting taste. The curing process makes a very good cig. While not up to par with Marb or Camel, they're definately a good change from the norm.
uhhh_dude24 04/06/2003
Tried these once, and they are pretty good. They taste toasty! They are quite relaxing! Pick up a pack and try em!
jewshort 03/04/2003
with a filter is the best you cant beat toasted tobacco.
blythe 01/02/2003
All I have tried is the lights and they are stronger than most full flavors I have had. My first reaction was that they were awful,b ut the toasty flavor kind of grows on you. If you want to smoke lights but they are too airy you should try these...they are very strong lights...stronger than Camel Lights

Cigs are bad, especially these. Make your lungs black, they're yours. If you've ever gotta run, good luck. If you need money, there it goes. do whatever you want people but i choose to spend my money other ways. I smoked cigs too, but you feel a lot better by avoiding them.
latinlover 04/02/2002
One of the most classic smokes of all time!! It's my favorite brand, I smoke two packs a day!!
marianillo_esp acial 02/02/2002
not good enough
Nniuq 10/05/2001
A smoke is generally a smoke, so when choosing unfiltereds, I go for the nostalgia of Lucky Strike, or Pall Mall if I want a longer fag. Luckies are great for harsh intake what makes you feel like a MAN with a ROSCOE smooth-talking a DAME with GAMS.
gravelswitch 03/01/2001
kurt vonnegut smokes these and they are harsh. if i were a smoker i'd definetly go with the luckys, they have a romantic cache which others do not.
PoorOldEdgarDe rby 01/24/2001
I'm going to give Lucky Strike a 4 even though I'm not a smoker simply because they're cool and if I were to smoke you can bet I'd smoke Lucky's. There is just such a feeling of nostalgia associated with Lucky Strike that you don't have with any other cigarette. Lucky's are in all the old movies, it's hard not to see them as part of the whole WWII era. The pinup girls in their old ads were in the same style as the girls painted on the nose cones of WWII bombers. Yeah, I'd say Lucky Strike has style.
