procrastination, were all offenders, and we'd probably be a more efficient society if we didnt procrastinate, but hey; its more fun to stay up all night and play video games so you end up working on it at 4 in the morning trying to get it done as fast as possible so you can catch 20 minutes of sleep before having to get up for work/school. Adds another level of difficulty that makes life more interesting.

Sure, this is a bad habit, but one a lot of people admit to doing. Hey, I'll readily admit that I'm guilty. We all get caught up in things we'd rather do, and put off an important task until, say, tomorrow (which none of us are guaranteed in the first place). Well, let's imagine that about twenty "tomorrows" roll along, and what have we accomplished? Zilch! Nada! Then, the twenty-first "tomorrow" gets here, and we finally get around to tackling the task we were supposed to do (you guessed it) twenty-one days ago! Nobody reading these posts can say they have never done this.

I think that we can all get hung up on this one, but we should never put off tomorrow what we should do today.

I had my review all written out on paper and was going to input it here, but my dog ate the paper. That's the only reason I haven't yet written, I mean, input(ted?) my review. Honest. It's not the kind of thing I'd put off. I don't have other things to do that would have distracted me. Honest. I wouldn't be browsing through RIA like this if I had better things to do. Why would I lie? Would you think less of me if I did lie, I mean, if I was in fact a procrastinator? Please answer me right away---don't put it off.

this is a habit that once started becomes a hard one to break. It causes stress and more problems than if things were just dealt with at the time. I know because I am guilty of this. It is the one thing I wish I didn't do.

I dislike this in others but I really hate it when I allow myself to fall prey to it. It takes so long to get caught up when you put things off or if you do you feel so rushed you stress and end up not performing up to your potential.

I procrastinate. It's a catch-22, in order to stop procrastinating you have to find motivation. But you procrastinate about motivation. It sounds confusing...

I am procrastinator, also. I have done some research on it and it doesn't really stem from being lazy. There are all kinds of books out there about helping yourself with the problem. Unfortunately, I'd rather read a good book.

I hate to procrastinate. I always try to make a point of getting things done when I need to. At times I have done things such as papers for school way earlier than neccesary just so I can have it out of the way.(I know, I'm a dork). Sometimes that can be a little annoying for my husband, who is the king of procrastination!

this is a bad habit of mine.i put things off until the very last minute that i can and then im running around like crazy getting it all done. i kick myself for not doing it sooner so i wouldnt be under so much pressure. i have improved a little as ive gotten older but thats cuz it takes me longer to things

After reading some of the other posts on procrastination.i agree there are good points and bad ones. It can be bad if you make yourself misereable because everything is put off until the last minute now you are forced to rush. or bad if you feel ill and ignore the symptoms and wait until it could be too late to go to the doctor. good in other ways. Like waiting awhile when the lasted gadget comes out and it drops in price. or biting your tongue when angry and putting off saying something until calmed down.I tend to procrastinate myself sometimes . Good and Bad for me.

It takes a lot of skills not to procrastinate, especially with regards to things that we absolutely have no desire to do. It takes a very determined person not to get trapped into this habit. This is something that I really am trying to overcome. Procrastination means that we're not living a full life; it means wasting time worrying about doing some dreaded task rather than focusing in on other more meaningful things. Not procratinating at the end of the day means that you've become the master of yourself. That is what makes life worth living.

Procrastinating should be avoided at all costs. It causes you to waste time and only leaves you full of regret as to what could have been. If something can be done today, do it today. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

This is truly the worst bad habit! So hard to break! I have succesfully (well partially) broken it though! It's so much easier in life if you just get something done, or get it done earlier! It frees up time and makes you less stressed, so although it is hard, quit now! You'll be happier!

Procrastination is a mix of good and bad.I myself procrastinate often, but I make sure that it's never something very important that I put off.Thats where it becomes dangerous. If you're having a heart attack,it's not ok to wait a while before you call the paramedics.

To tell you the truth, I'm a bit of a procrastinator myself, but I'm trying to break the habit. This flaw doesn't help me, when I have a big project to do, and I wait last minute to do it, so that it looks like I just slopped it together in 5 minutes, even though it really took me a day. Anyone with this habit, like me, should probably at least learn when they need to be focused on the task at hand, and when it is alright to let it go for a little bit.

Indeed a bad habit which we all have sometime or another been guilty of. As a high school student, I am guilty of this constantly, waiting until two or perhaps one day before a term paper is due to begin working on it. In the end, in some way or another, I always regret that I waited until the last minute.

I guess it depends on the thing you're procrastinating on doing, I guess, and for how long. Like . . . waiting until a few hours after you've eaten a meal to do the dishes, that's not a bad thing. Waiting a few weeks, now that's a problem. Dragging your feet on your taxes, well, it happens. Doing double the speed limit to get to the post office on time the night taxes are due, probably not a good idea. It depends on priorities at any given moment, too. This is a habit I'm guilty of to a degree, and pretty much everyone else I know does it, too. I'll break the habit later, though . . . . .

Procarstination sounds worse than it actually is. Why buy something for someone months before? Waiting until a few days before gives you time to think about you want to get the person. Putting things off may be going your way. A project that needs to be done could be canceled and someone could change thier mind on what they want are good examples.

I agree this is a pretty bad habit. Nothing immoral or disgusting about it, but bad just the same. I've been guilty of it all my life pretty much. In high school I would wait til the last minute to do term papers, and that went on into college. Now I pay bills and write letters at the last minute. I always get everything done just in the nick of time, but not without some stress.
