01/10/2006 | I never thought anyone would even rate this a 4. Simple plan and all other candy rock or poser rock bands, whichever you prefer, need to die. I don't understand all the hype behind bands like Fallout Boy, My Chemical Romance or any of the aforementioned genre of music. It's to whiny and the lyrics are usually about crap topics or nothing at all. Guitar work is sub par. I just don't get it. Go listen to Tool. Death to poser rock!

01/21/2005 | Talentlessly pander to the sad punk mid-teen crowd. Their songs are nothing but cliches; one is a run-of-the-mill love song, another is spoken to a father who wants his son to be perfect and never seems to be satisfied (Where have I heard this before? Oh, yes, Numb by Linkin Park is essentially the same song), and the most recent is a whiney eye-roller where the band attempts to reach out to angsty, my-girlfriend-just-broke-up-with-me-so-I'm-this-close-to-suicide teens with lyrics such as Are you stuck inside a world you hate? Are you sick of everyone around? With their big fake smiles and stupid lies/While deep inside you're bleeding. The worst part is some kids are actually going to identify with that lame song while they fret about frivolous things like being grounded for a weekend because they stayed out too late. I prefer a bit more substance in my music.

12/02/2004 | i wish you could rate over a 5 cuz simple plan deserves a 1millon and more they have the best songs they are a great group they write songs from heart and they love what they do...the haters of simple plan are jelous that you couldnt write songs as good as them or be a great band like them...p.s. pierre, david, seb, jeff, chuck are all the hottest guys!! i love simple plan

07/30/2004 | I don't know how anyone can be deceived into thinking that Simple Plan is a punk band when it is obvious that they're not.Sure they may dress in the typical punk attire, but listen to the music it's light jumpy bubblegum pop with a very slight rock edge.I wouldn't call this band talented or unique at all infact they are very much alike the many poppy wanabe punk bands going around right now.Simple Plan is another corporate band feeding off of the new trend.

04/13/2004 | Terrible. I've heard train wrecks sound better. First of all, they're a pop band that tries to be punk...Good Charlotte wannabes, actually. Second, the dude can't even sing. He has an extrememly annoying, whiny voice. True punk bands are Green Day, Blink-182, and a little bit of Good Charlotte.

12/05/2003 | Alright this is specifically for everyone who sat there dissing the Backsteet Boys (Nsync can rot for all i care, there was just something so ... yuck about them). You all wanted the BSB to disappear, well they did for a while but the music industry re-encarnated them as a punk rock gorup now known as simple plan. Atleast BSB and 98 degrees admitted that they were pop. Simple Plan, however can not. No maybe they don't have all of the dancing and the classic boybandness on the outside, but behind the punk makeup and outfits and instuments they are the same. Maybe if they weren't a bunch of wannabe punks and admitted that they were pop I'd listen. You can't pass pop off as punk and get away with it for very long.

05/12/2003 |  I seriously think Simple Plan is one of the worst bands I've ever heard. I'm sick of the "pop-punk" trend in general (though I do like the Offspring, Green Day, and Blink 182), and none of the "pop-punk" bands are worse than Simple Plan. I don't feel that words can describe how horrible this band is, but I will attempt to describe it. Most of the "pop-punk" bands are basically power-pop, but this band is more bubblegum pop. These guys have some of the most annoying, unoriginal sappy, and cheesy melodies and lyrics ever - they sound like Green Day doing completely serious covers of Backstreet Boys songs, making the former band sound like the Clash. While Green Day and Blink 182 make up for the simplicity of their music by having a great amount of energy, fun, personality, and infectious power-pop hooks, Simple Plan lack any of that. They are completely generic, personalityless bubblegum rock. This album has every cliche in the book, musical and lyrical. They're ripping off not only bands like Green Day, but also cheesy pop songs sung by prefabricated groups and solo pop singers. Plus, the lead singer has one of the most annoying, nasal voices ever. It's just hard to imagine songs like this coming out of people who look the way they do - they're definetely poseurs. I think I'd honestly rather listen to Avril Lavigne than this horrible excuse for a band, and I hate her guts too! This is as bad as pop-punk and music in general gets.
