A pretty boring sci-fi movie that I had to watch in my science class one year. The acting was lame and the plot was kind of stupid.

This movie rocks! I enjoy the special effects and characters! Some of the scene in the movie such as the lightning destroying stone buildings in Rome and the microwaves destroying the Golden Gate Bridge are a little far-fetched but this movie is addictive. You can learn about what the inside of our earth looks like by watching this movie.

Good film. Better than I expected. Really good cast.

"The Core" is your typical sci-fi thriller, and you get what you expect. A few shocks, and that's about it. The main problem here lies in the casting of oscar-winner Hilary Swank in the lead role, and her being surrounded by an all-around male cast. First off, the plot is somewhat similar to...well Austin Powers. Ther core in the middle of the earth will eventually detonate and cause world destruction. Sounds original doesn't it? The special effects are cheesy, but it's an ongoing gimmick you will soon find. In fact, "The Core" tries to parody itself far too many times during the film, classifying it as a sci-fi comedy. Swank is wasted as the main girl...she's no Sigourney Weaver, and she has terrible one-liners. The finale is overblown and unpleasant.

Why must the earth always be in danger?...how come the government never seems to keep an eye on suspected nuclear weapons?..These type of films are now pileing up in the movie industry, and even though they can be enjoyable they are just the same plot every time. Earth is in danger, normal everyday professor comes to the rescue along with friends who strife to save the earth. Yes its that simple and we've all heard it before. How about this....why cant they come up with something more orginal?

good diversionary sci fi entertainment. Space travel with a twist. None of the actors were great, but the special effects were pretty neat.

For the love of God, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRAP!
