James Blake looks to be a rising star. Crazy athletic, skilled, dominating forehand and serve - there's just not too many weaknesses in his game. And it's hard not to root for him after the year he's had - his father dying, and partial paralyzation from shingles, I think. But what I really wanted to talk about is the Agassi-Blake match last night in the quarters of the 2005 US Open. It may have been the most compelling sporting event I've ever seen. Both players gave superhuman performances. Bost players saved their best for the final games and tiebreak of the fifth set. The crowd looked more like a world cup crowd than a tennis crowd. It was electrifying. I hate to go to the cliches, but it was a pity somebody had to lose.

He's had consistent results, but I just don't think he's got enough game to ever be in the elite group of players to win Grand Slams. He's a terrific athlete, no doubt, but it takes more than that to win on the highest level.

I think that James Blake is a great tennis player. He is not only has a killer forehand, but he is one of the sweetest and nicest professional tennis players out there.

Watching the Roddick match yesterday was pure torture in the tie break. We are praying for your dad, ahd you are the greatest male player in tennis today. It doesn't hurt that you look great in those new Nike shirts, either.....
