I'm all for unexplained mysteries and this one is just funny and scary at the same time.

The term "chupacabras" is a compounded word that was invented several years ago by someone who, I suspect, has an agenda. Translated it means "sucker of goats" and it is not in the dictionaries (perhaps the modern ones, yes). The name itself suggests an effort to describe a being with special and mysterious characteristics and a MO very similar to ordinary bats. I guess the mystery could be solved by researching the origin of the name and the people involved in the first report. Suspiciously man made "legend" never proven with tangible evidence.

Do not believe there is enough research out there.

To trebon1038: Either the dingoes ate the Chupacabras or the Chupacabras ate the dingoes. I disremember which! To numbah: Comeon, now! Fido is the name of my trusty Black Lab sidekick!

A tribute to the effects of Mezcal on illiterate gauchos.

I call mine Fido... UPDATE: I changed his name to Sancho since it better serves his heritage.

Ugly vampiric creatures on a rampage? Sounds like Congress to me!

What are they? Do they really exist? Is our government trying to cover them up or what? Who knows. But they're probably one of the most interesting cryptids.

If Chupacabras do exist, I hope to never met them.

I saw some special on TV about this creature-thing...and maybe if it is true that this thing is running around...it is probably just some DNA messed up animal that evil scientists in some lab messed up creating..who knows? In any event...it doesn't make sense why so many would just make this up...but I guess it could be some big lie...

It's always sad when good vampires go bad.

Cryptids (animals wholly unknown to science) seem to me to be quite believable, except for things like the Loch Ness Monster or the Mothman, who are pretty far-fetched. I have seen pictures of dead chupacabras, skeletons of chupacabras, etc... I know that pictures can be faked, but why would someone go to that much trouble to prove the existence of an animal that really isn't very sensational or odd. They look like some kind of large weasel with ridiculously enlarged canine teeth, which is probably what they are. They probably aren't some kind of mystical vampire creature that can fly and turn itself invisible, as some drunken gauchos may have attested.
