If you do not want to line Joyces pockets don't buy her books. I am so tired of people on this site judging others. Who says God doesn't want Joyce to be rich? I do not believe God wants us to be poor.If Joyce has something to sell that she believes will help someone then more power to her.If you send her a ton of money then that is something you can only blame yourselves for,God only expects his 10 percent. It is not like she is not working for her living people! I have a few of her books and I can tell you that they have helped me.I do not expect her to provide these books for free,no one should be expected to.All authors make money. But lets face it,none of these preachers are perfect because they are human.Look to God and you will know what is best for you but no one should call her a false prophet because only God knows her heart and motives. If she is not right then God will expose that.It is also a fact that rather you like it or not it does take money to get the word out there on a large level and Joyce has managed to do that. God wants us healthy and happy and I believe he wants us finacially healthy also. Does that mean we will all be millionares? no but seek his kingdom and he Will give you the desires of your heart, that is a fact.It is only when you make money your God that it is evil.

I hear prosperity preachers quote that scripture"The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just" ad nauseam. However, something I was alerted to, the wealth of prosperity hustlers doesn't come from the "wicked", 99% of it comes from the RIGHTEOUS, or those who are TRYING to be righteous by giving these charletans money. Maybe we can take that to mean that these WICKED prosperty preacher's wealth will soon be given BACK to the just...those who gave, but didn't know they were being hustled. Joyce Meyer is one of those hustlers, got filthy rich from the gospel of Jesus Christ, living like royalty.

The ministry has bought homes for other key employees. Since 1999, the ministry has spent at least $4 million on five homes for Meyer and her four children near Interstate 270 and Gravois Road, St. Louis County records show. Meyer's house, the largest of the five, is a 10,000-square-foot Cape Cod style estate home with a guest house and a garage that can be independently heated and cooled and can hold up to eight cars. The three-acre property has a large fountain, a gazebo, a private putting green, a pool and a poolhouse where the ministry recently added a $10,000 bathroom. See Aerial View of All Five Houses The ministry pays for utilities, maintenance and landscaping costs at all five homes. It also pays for renovations. The Meyers ordered major rehab work at the ministry's expense right after the ministry bought three of the homes. For example, the ministry bought one home, leveled it and then built a new home on the site to the specifications of Meyer's daughter Sandra and her husband, county records show. Even the property taxes, $15, 629 this year, are paid by the ministry Meyer says she expects the best, from where she lives to how she looks. Much of her clothing is custom-tailored at an upscale West County dress shop. At her conferences, she usually wears flashy jewelry. She sports an impressive diamond ring that she said she got from one of her followers. Meyer has a private hairdresser. And, a few years ago, Meyer told her employees she was getting a face-lift. Last year, the Meyers bought a $500,000 atrium ranch lakefront home in Porto Cima, a private-quarters club at Lake of the Ozarks. A few weeks later, they bought two watercrafts similar to Jet Skis and a $105,000 Crownline boat painted red, white and blue that they named the Patriot.

Somewhat of a mixed bag. A good message for the most part. She seems to be open about her failings in the past. However, I have to question if this is a methodology to get people on "her side." Sometimes admitting unsavory elements in our past gives people - who would otherwise feel belittled for their failings - a desire to side with us. Thay may be the case with Joyce Meyer. I have a huge issue with her "kingdom on earth" that she has established on her estate, and with her jetsetting lifestyle. Looks like she took real good care of the relatives at the expense of the ministry. Unfortunate. It's gives the skeptics another round of ammunition to shoot down the credibility of Christianity.

She has practical advice for living, but the good stops there. A lot of what she believes is not Biblical at all. It seems made up in her mind or understanding. There are too many things to list that she believes that are not in line with true Christianity. She considered one the leaders in the word of faith movement.

Opinionated, brash, cocky Ms. know-it-all, who was able to make herself filthy rich by selling to the public what is supposed to be FREELY GIVEN--the gospel of Jesus Christ. She believes that Jesus' sacrifice wasn't completed at the cross(Where He plainly said "IT IS FINISHED"), but that he had to suffer in hell before redemtion was granted. THAT IS A COMPLETE FALSEHOOD. Beware this false prophet.

Meyer indeed has very faulty theology, and that's sad because she has such a large following. She's very self-centered, highly opinionated, and for the most part, a motivational speaker who's gotten extremely wealthy off of the gospel. Here's a question I have, why on earth is EVERY new book that she writes, "A MUST HAVE???" Are christians THAT stupid that they have to have new "how to" instructions from her every year?? Almost all of her books are merely the same, with a few different scriptures here and there in each one. But don't be fooled. It's ALL about the money. "Buy my new book, How to Get Your Prayers Answered, it'll change your life." Get my new CD on How to get closer to God, it'll change your life." And all the while, her pockets are lined, her husband gets a new Mercedes for his birthday, she gets her private jets, extravagant homes, etc., etc., etc. This leaves me with another question...could THIS be why the apostle Paul felt that women should not be allowed to teach in the church? Just a thought.

She is a great woman of God. If you are lookin at her personality or what she is wearing, you are missing it. If you are wondering why your neighbor is not going to your church or not serving God, its because they are reading these reviews and believing the same things about your pastor. watch what you are speaking about these men and woman of God.

POOR POOR JOYCE....WHILE I AGREE SHE CAN BE INTERESTING, FUNNY AND SHARE SOME INTERESTING STORIES ABOUT HER PAST,SHE LACKS ALOT IN HUMILITY. SHE CAN COME ACROSS VERY HARSH AND DEMANDING, KINDA LIKE A PRISON WARDEN. SHE SEEMS TO CONVEY MORE OF A SELF RIGHTEOUS ATTITUDE THAN ONE WHO IS A FELLOW STRUGGLER. IT MIGHT HELP IF SHE DID A CHARACTER STUDY ON PAUL.AND HER BELIEFS ARE ASTOUNDING. HER 1991 BOOK ENTITLED "THE BEST DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE" WHICH SHE STATED THAT IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THAT JESUS WAS TORMENTED IN HELL FOR 3 DAYS BEFORE HE ROSE AGAIN, YOU COULD NOT BE SAVED. THIS BELIEF SEEMS TO GO BACK TO E.W. KENYON AND MANY OF THE FAITH MOVEMENT FOLLOWERS SEEM TO HOLD FAST TO THIS BELIEF SUCH AS JOYCE, JOEL OSTEEN, JESSIE DUPLANTIS, KENNETH HAGIN, KENNETH COPELAND, CREFLO DOLLAR JUST TO NAME A FEW. MANY CRITICIZE HER FOR HER WEALTH, I PERSONALLY DO NOT CARE, I AM MORE CONCERNED ABOUT HER TEACHING THE TRUTH WHICH SHE DOES NOT DO. I HAVE SHARED THE INFORMATION ABOUT JOYCE MEYER WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE SINCE QUIT WATCHING HER AND DESTROYED HER MATERIAL------PRAISE THE LORD. SHE IS NOTHING LESS THAN AN ABOMINATION TO THE LORD WITH HER LIES AND DECEITFUL TEACHING. ONE OF MY FREINDS SAID SHE ATTENDED A SEMINAR WHERE JOYCE WAS SPEAKING IN TONGUES, WHEN ASKED IF THERE WAS AN INTERPRETER, SHE SAID NO. SHAME ON YOU JOYCE. READ I CORINTHIANS 14:5, 13, 26 & 27. HER BELIEFS ARE SO OFF THE WALL, IT IS SCARY. WHILE I DO BELIEVE SHE MAKE SEVERAL GOOD POINTS, I HAVE TO CONSIDER THAT IF SHE HOLDS TO THE BELIEFS OF THE FAITH MOVEMENT AND HAS STRONG TIES TO THOSE WHO ALSO DO, SUCH AS BENNY HINN FOR ONE, THAT I WOULD BE BETTER OFF LISTENING TO SOMEONE WHO DOES TEACH THE TRUTH IN HUMILITY WITH SOUND DOCTRINAL BELIEFS SUCH AS BETH MOORE AND KAY ARTHUR. SHE HAS ALOT OF PEOPLE FOOLED WHICH IS SAD BUT SHE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE ONE DAY FOR EACH AND EVERY PERSON THAT SHE HAS MISLED. GOD SAYS HE WILL NOT BE MOCKED. I PRAY THAT SHE WILL BE BROUGHT TO REPENTANCE AND THE TRUTH WILL BE REVEALED TO HER SOON BEFORE SHE DESTROYS ANY MORE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!BY THE WAY JOYCE REVISED HER 1991 BOOK OF "THE BEST DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE" IN 1996 AND REWORDED IT BUT IT STILL SAYS THE SAME THING. IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ABOUT JOYCE ON THE INTERNET BY PULLING UP - IS JOYCE MEYER A FALSE PROPHET, I SUGGEST YOU BUY HER BOOK AND READ IT FOR YOURSELF AND IF YOU FIND YOURSELF BELIEVING IT---GOD HELP YOU---------I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU TOO!!!!

Her teachings are straightforward. We as people of God need to stop trying to be religious police and let God handle them. We are all human - that is the problem, we let the devil divide us instead of allowing God to unite us. We should be further along in God's business than these trite and dumb arguments on whether one is called or not. God can handle His kingdom; I mean after all He has since the beginning of time. Use discernment and stop going but do not attack someone's preaching and be a Christ policeman. Many of these preachers have helped many. I was reading one article that said all this is satan. Do you really think satan wants to see us children of God healed, delievered, set free, prosperous? satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. How are any of those things I named accomplishing his intent? The devil is really deceiving the body of Christ. We need to examine the Bible more carefully and follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

As with any preacher, we need to check it out with the word. I sometimes think we as Christians become religious police seeking to tell the body about who is false and spewing negative comments about preachers. If they aren't called, God will deal with it. This is why it is so important to know the word and to have a relationship with God. We as Christians seemed to have a problem with preachers being rich, yet we do not seem to care that the world is milking the economy to satisfy their greedy pockets. We need to look to the Holy Spirit to establish our foundation in the word. Stop making preachers your gods, which is what many Christians do. And who are we to determine who is called and who isn't? God instructs us not to do his prophets any harm nor to touch his anointed. You just have to make it to heaven on your own, stop worrying about whether Meyer and others are deceiving people. Let God do the judging, because we surely cannot.

Another "feel good" gospel preacher who's nothing more than a motivational speaker who got rich off the gospel. It amazes me that she thinks christians are so messed up, that she has to write several books a year..claiming that EACH book will "change your life." How many life changes does one need? "For we are not as MANY, which corrupt(Gk. Kapeleuo, to act as a peddler, to exchange for profit)the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we(as servants of)in Christ" II Cor 2:17

Either what Paul said about women serving as elders is true, or nothing Paul said is true, you cannot pick and choose.
If this woman was being obedient and teaching women how to be wifes and mothers, as the bible teaches older women to do for younger women, then she would be great. As it is, it would appear she "preaches" in direct defiance of what God had to say about the social and theological roles of men and women.

It's funny how people get so upset with bible teachers on TV making money and being able to have some of the finer things in life. Do you also get upset at movie stars or sports figures who lead totally ungodly lives making so much money. Do you support their movies or go to or watch the sporting events that they are in? I think we don't know how much these people really give to those in underpriveledged countries etc. They have all paid their dues. I just don't think it's our place to judge one another. If you don't want to watch her then don't. To go on and on about how awful she is seems a waste of time. I have learned alot from her over the years, she's down to earth and tells it like it is. I'm sure she has missed it a few times, she's not perfect, but so did the Lutheran minister's and teacher's I grew up with. We don't always know everything about God's word, but if we truly want to gain souls into the Kingdom and teach people about God, if we miss it once in a while, well that's where grace comes in.

The story she told about the red dress that she loved and she resisted the Holy Spirit by not giving that particlar dress to a woman she was 'told' to give it to. The solution was easy - just give it away and go and buy another dozen and gives those away too. I used to like Joyce, but I see a curbed arrogance and attitude where I feel she would like to tell most of those watching to jump in the lake - and all the diamonds and wealth is another story. She is knowledgable but more from a motivational speaker as I have never sensed a real love through her words - supressed anger toward an idiotic audience - another great wordsmith that has a very successful, 'organized' religion. Just how many sermons can be revamped and preached, and preached again and again - and again.

The money is to break the "beast" the Federal Reserve System, which has been extorting nations since 1913. It was started by Rothchilds and Rockefellers and J.P. Morgan Interests to infiltrate the United States Government and enslave it's People to unconstitutional direct taxes known aslso as Income tax. The 16th amendment was NEVER ratified. Many words are written for or against others here but there are two commandments most Christians seem to forget.....Love God with all your heart your mind and your soul and love your neighbor as yourself.........there was no other stipulation nor a prerquisite as to wealth, poverty, skin color or even religion. If Christians can't get this right how will they progress to the beattitudes.....? Fact is in two thousand years they have not.........but they need to find the reason why so the problem can be connected to the solution. sundown1919

I have mixed feelings towards Joyce Meyer. To start with I have personally found the majority of her teaching very helpful. I usually feel uplifted after listening to her. And as for her books they are easy to understand and make a lot of sense. Some of the scripture she uses is taken out of context at times, but she is one of the few tv evangelists I can listen to and not feel condemned afterwards - her focus seems to be on empowering people rather than criticising. I like her positive approach as opposed to many other tv evangelists out there who seem to be all about hellfire and damnation. On the other hand, I think about the $10mil or so a month she brings in and I think "what a waste". She says she invests it in ministries etc. but honestly I think she could be using it far more effectively then she is. Eg, she could use the money to tackle problems such as homelessness, health, employment, etc. at a government level rather than just within the church sphere. That would have a much greater impact toward the attitude that non-christians have towards christians in general as she could set a really good example with huge ramifications. As to the criticism of materialism etc. I don't want to make a judgement about that - on the surface to me it looks like that it's a problem for her, but I don't know her personally so don't feel in a position to comment on her character. I don't begrudge preachers who are wealthy and who enjoy it to a point. I don't think there is anything wrong with being wealthy as a christian depending on the heart of the person and intent. I do have a problem however if preachers take money that wasn't meant for them personally. I don't know if this is the case or not for Joyce - I have heard that she does spend money that wasn't meant for her but meant for her ministries etc, but I have also read the audit reports for her ministry which says otherwise. I am wary of rumours - they're usually exagerrated or untrue (but often deceptively believable) so the jury's still out on that one. Overall though, I believe that God is using her for good. The great thing about God is he is able to use us to do his work despite our weaknesses and thorns.

After reading the responses on this site, one question comes to mind; Could someone please describe the 'perfect preacher' for me? The men and women listed here seem to draw criticism for anything and everything; Ministry is too big, they talk too loud, they weigh too much, they have a funny name, etc, etc. Shoot, if these detractors saw Jesus himself preaching they would still manage to be critical! "He must be 'fleecing his flock'! I mean, did you get a whiff of him? All those expensive spices and oils..." or "The son of a carpenter? How hokey is that?" Maybe "Where did he get the money to pay for all that bread and fish?" "He RODE into town while others walked, who does he think he is?". I think you get the picture. Personally, I agree with the "Love one another" crowd. What bad can come from having true love for one another? Is it so terrible that there are people out there that have led others to accepting Jesus Christ? The bible is such an intricate and detailed work that even after 2,000+ years man is still gleaning information and gaining understanding from it. So why get on this site to sling criticism every which way? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Who amongst you, then, is qualified to be so critical and judgemental?

First of all, I would like to know where in the Bible does it say that being rich is a sin? Another thing that I want to remind to these people who seem to be angry that Joyce is so wealthy of the many men and women of God that where extremly rich. The first man I want to point out is Abraham, for those of you who actually read the Bible and pay attention know that Abraham was one of the richest men in the country. In case you have any questions, read Genesis 13. Then we see his son Isaac. When he was about to die, he sent his servant for a wife for his son, as well as presents for her Genesis 24. In this chapter if you look at verse 34, we see more evidnce of Abraham's wealthyness. Isaac son Jacob was also extremly rich and the evidence of this is in Genesis 32 and 33. I also want to remind you about Joseph, Jacob, his dad, gave him a milticolored coat. This coat, in case you didn't know or even bothered to do some research, was extremly valuable and expensive. He was sold by his brothers because they were jealous of him (ring a bell?) and then was sent to be a servant, then a prisoner. Notice that no matter what his situation was, he was always blessed and this hardships were so that he would grow up and be matture on what God had ultimately prepared for him. He became Pharaohs right hand man. Oh, my Goodness!!! He was RICH!!!??? see Gen 42 where it is affirmed that he was the governor of the land. Now lets move to Moses, he was found by Pharaoh's daughter who adopted him. He was technically a prince in Egpt, meaning, he was wealthy. He escaped Egypt and wne to live with Jethro, who became his father in law. Now I should mention that the people who owned the cattle and sheep were wealthy back then. So, yes, Jethro was wealthy as well. Then when the people left Egypt, they did not lived empty handed, as I recall, God told Moses they were going to destitute Egypt, meaning, they were going to take Egypt's gold, silver, cattle, etc. see Ex. 3:21-22. Ok, now let's skip to Ruth, she was a widow, who followed her Mother in-law to her land. There she met Boaz, whom she later married, who was the wealthiest man there. What about Queen Esther? Was she a heretic for going to a one-year beautification process? see Esther 2:12-13. Pay really close attention to the treatments that she went through, six months of oil of myrrh and another six with perfumes and cosmetics. "BOY!!! SHE SHOULD'VE GIVEN THAT TO THE POOR!!!" Her purpose my dears to be there was to save her people, if you have any doubts, please read Esther. What about David, Solomon and the Temple? Have you read the description of the temple of God that Solomon built? Also was not Solomon the richest and wisest king in history? In case you didn't know, a leader is supposed to serve the people, and are not kings leaders? So wouldn't it be fair to say that Kings are also servants? Where do you think the money came from? TAXES!!! yet KING David was a man after God's OWN heart. Do me a favor and read 1st and 2nd Samuel and Kings, you might be shocked!! now for those of you who think that it is wrong to have a fancy house or church please read 1 Kings 6. Also note that God gave the specifications for the temple to Solomon. Next example JOB! wealthiest man of the land, lost everything and was given back the double of what he lost. Also note that his daughters were the most beautiful women in the whole land (for those of you against beauty). What about Daniel? A young man taken into excile, served a vicious kind, yet he also was the right hand man of the king, meaning he was rich too.

Joyce Meyer 5

I love Joyce Meyer! I tape her every morning and watch her in the evening when I get a chance. She speaks such truth! I have grown a lot since listening to her speak. Yes, I get a little taken aback by the shiny clothes and her self-admitted face lift, but that's really between her and God. I am against plastic surgery except in the case of gross disfigurement (like being kicked in the face by a horse), but I really think this is a gray area and not sinful activity. (Even if it were a sin, who among us has not sinned?) That's one of the great draws for Joyce Meyer. She tells the truth about her mistakes and how she grows and God reveals to her that things she has done in the past are wrong. Maybe someday she won't be so proud of the face lift. Who knows?

Just wondering if any one of the complainers had a minister that they actualy liked. So many of the same complaints are said about Creflo Dollar (c'mon w/ jokes about the last name, its not like named himself), Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Gregory Dickow, etc. Do you have any positive sentiments about any minister? I'm curious as I'm new to the faith and trying to find out whose legitimate and whose not. Thanks.

Why oh why did she have to get a facelift and embarrass us Christians by living such an oppulent lifestyle? I have so many non Christian friends who don't like the church because of reasons like that. I also don't like the way she often boasts on T.V and talks about all the fancy things and houses she has and almost flaunts them. And then she asks for money. I would never give her money so she can use it to live fancier than the queen of England.

Joyce Meyer 1

The first time I saw Joyce Meyer on tv, I was very impressed with her. I do believe that she does love God and does serve Him, however I don't agree with all of this materialism that seems to be extremely prevalent in her ministry, with her family, close friends and associates. I understand that she helps an enormous amount of people, but just because receives all of this money, does that mean that she has to be so materialistic. Isn't that something that Jesus Christ spoke about. I believe that Gods' message gets lost amongst all of their mercedes, jewelry, houses and just about anything else that may tickle their fancies. She definitely doesn't need anymore money, lets face it. Why doesn't she just stop taking a paycheque. Alot of the people that she receives money from I'm sure do not possess the things that she does or has the money that she does. So, I am sorry to say, here we go again, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Some people are doing without, just so they can, as Joyce calls it, "sewing a seed in this ministry". I simply do not agree with this at all. You know, I was fine with listening to Joyce Meyer every morning at 5:30, before I go to work each day, until I was speaking with a friend one day and she told me that Joyce was 62 yrs old and had a facelift. I was floored. Also that her husband had had one and all because they are on television. I couldn't believe my ears. How vein and now I don't really like listening to her anymore. What a huge turnoff. Jesus clearly could give a rats butt what someone looks like or for that matter what they wear. He is more interested in our spritual life and getting we humans where we are to be spritually, not all of this materialism and vanity. If the truth be told I do believe Joyce and her husband Dave got facelifts because they are vein. If God Almighty is more interesed in what I look like on the outside that what my sprit looks like, then I don't want to serve that God. I want to serve the true God, maker of heaven and earth. Phooey on you Joyce and Dave Meyer, for the message that you are giving to the world, that a person should be ashamed of nature taking its' course and aging gracefully and being proud of it. Boy, I'll be glad when Christ comes back because this world sure is in one heck of a MESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Patricia L Dobson
