First of all, I would like to know where in the Bible does it say that being rich is a sin? Another thing that I want to remind to these people who seem to be angry that Joyce is so wealthy of the many men and women of God that where extremly rich.
The first man I want to point out is Abraham, for those of you who actually read the Bible and pay attention know that Abraham was one of the richest men in the country. In case you have any questions, read Genesis 13. Then we see his son Isaac. When he was about to die, he sent his servant for a wife for his son, as well as presents for her Genesis 24. In this chapter if you look at verse 34, we see more evidnce of Abraham's wealthyness. Isaac son Jacob was also extremly rich and the evidence of this is in Genesis 32 and 33. I also want to remind you about Joseph, Jacob, his dad, gave him a milticolored coat. This coat, in case you didn't know or even bothered to do some research, was extremly valuable and expensive. He was sold by his brothers because they were jealous of him (ring a bell?) and then was sent to be a servant, then a prisoner. Notice that no matter what his situation was, he was always blessed and this hardships were so that he would grow up and be matture on what God had ultimately prepared for him. He became Pharaohs right hand man. Oh, my Goodness!!! He was RICH!!!??? see Gen 42 where it is affirmed that he was the governor of the land.
Now lets move to Moses, he was found by Pharaoh's daughter who adopted him. He was technically a prince in Egpt, meaning, he was wealthy. He escaped Egypt and wne to live with Jethro, who became his father in law. Now I should mention that the people who owned the cattle and sheep were wealthy back then. So, yes, Jethro was wealthy as well. Then when the people left Egypt, they did not lived empty handed, as I recall, God told Moses they were going to destitute Egypt, meaning, they were going to take Egypt's gold, silver, cattle, etc. see Ex. 3:21-22.
Ok, now let's skip to Ruth, she was a widow, who followed her Mother in-law to her land. There she met Boaz, whom she later married, who was the wealthiest man there. What about Queen Esther? Was she a heretic for going to a one-year beautification process? see Esther 2:12-13. Pay really close attention to the treatments that she went through, six months of oil of myrrh and another six with perfumes and cosmetics. "BOY!!! SHE SHOULD'VE GIVEN THAT TO THE POOR!!!" Her purpose my dears to be there was to save her people, if you have any doubts, please read Esther.
What about David, Solomon and the Temple? Have you read the description of the temple of God that Solomon built? Also was not Solomon the richest and wisest king in history? In case you didn't know, a leader is supposed to
serve the people, and are not kings leaders? So wouldn't it be fair to say that Kings are also servants? Where do you think the money came from? TAXES!!! yet KING David was a man after God's OWN heart. Do me a favor and read 1st and 2nd Samuel and Kings, you might be shocked!! now for those of you who think that it is wrong to have a fancy house or church please read 1 Kings 6. Also note that God gave the specifications for the temple to Solomon.
Next example JOB! wealthiest man of the land, lost everything and was given back the double of what he lost. Also note that his daughters were the most beautiful women in the whole land (for those of you against beauty). What about Daniel? A young man taken into excile, served a vicious kind, yet he also was the right hand man of the king, meaning he was rich too.
