I'm not going to make references to this man's weight, or any other physical shortcoming of his. He is one very angry man. It's funny, he is so beligerent when he speaks about sinners. Yet, you not ONCE read about Jesus blasting sinners in any of the gospels. Jesus' most harsh words were directed at the holier-than-thou Scribes and Pharisees. IT was THEY that He called hypocrites and snakes. It was THEM who He told were of their father the devil, and the lusts of their father will they do. It was THEM that he said would see Abraham and the prophets enter the kingdom of God, while THEY were thrusted out...NOT the sinner. What turns my stomach though, is seeing Hagee look at the TV camera and point to it saying, "You better believe there's a hell, AND YOU'RE GOING..." to which the audience busts out in laughter and applause, as if a person being barbequed alive in flames for all eternity is something to laugh at and applaud.

This guy is dramatically, repulsively fat. You can't get that fat unless you refuse any exercise, eat fat in huge proportions and never control your urge to eat. One of the funniest things I've seen on TV was the Hagee episode where he was ranting against Christians who aren't walking in the fruit of the Spirit known as "self control." If I was a lard butt, I wouldn't preach against people who are weak in self control. And is it true that he couldn't keep married to his first wife??

As far as his ministry goes, there are others that I prefer. But I will not attack his character, which goes against the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Using the guise of being a "man of God" to promote and indoctrinate people with political propaganda is nothing less than taking Gods name in vain.

Hagee is a hypnotist. With his voice, charts, jestures and clicking his fingers into the mic he has his audience applauding almost continually and crying. He is a master at emotional manipulation. It all leads up to sales of tapes and books. The focus is his teaching, not Jesus Christ. He, like Paula White, have great entertainment skills as well as great income from sales.

John Hagee has recently written a book that I have reviewed at Amazon.com called Jerusalem Countdown. For a more exposition on him see that review. He preaches another gospel other then the one that is in the New Testament. His argument is that the Jews have a different covenant with God and are his chosen people. He even goes so far as to say that God loves the nation of Israel (the one formed in 1948) and they are the apple of his eye. What he is missing is an understanding of Jesus and the New Testament. Jesus reconstitutes Israel in himself. When Moses is on the mountain in Exodus 4 YHWH tells Moses to say to Pharoah to let my first born son go. Jesus is Israel's true representative. He is the true Israel and they that have put their trust in him are the true Israel of God. Modern day Israel is not the people of God who have a divine right to the land. Paul says in Galatians 3:19 that whoever has put on Christ is Abraham's seed and heirs of the promise. He says in Romans 4:13 that Abraham's seed that is constituted by faith in Jesus are the inheritors of the world and not just Jerusalem or the land of Israel. Jesus has fulfilled the promises to Abraham already according to 2 Corinthians 1:20 which says that "all of the promises of God are in him yes and amen". After reading the responses on this site, one question comes to mind; Could someone please describe the 'perfect preacher' for me? The men and women listed here seem to draw criticism for anything and everything; Ministry is too big, they talk too loud, they weigh too much, they have a funny name, etc, etc. Shoot, if these detractors saw Jesus himself preaching they would still manage to be critical! "He must be 'fleecing his flock'! I mean, did you get a whiff of him? All those expensive spices and oils..." or "The son of a carpenter? How hokey is that?" Maybe "Where did he get the moeny to pay for all that bread and fish?" "He RODE into town while others walked, who does he think he is?". I think you get the picture. Personally, I agree with the "Love one another" crowd. What bad can come from having true love for one another? Is it so terrible that there are people out there that have led others to accepting Jesus Christ? The bible is such an intricate and detailed work that even after 2,000+ years man is still gleaning information and gaining understanding from it. So why get on this site to sling criticism every which way? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Who amongst you, then, is qualified to be so critical and judgemental?

I was living in San Antonio when John Hagee left Trinity Church in 1975. He left for bad reasons and it had to do with his divorce. I have no respect for the man. NONE!

The first time I tuned in to John Hagee it was by accident. I sat and listened and thought, "This guy knows how to preach." I love his style. He's an excellent orator and seems to know his Bible. He's the antithesis of Dr. Phil and Ophrah Winfrey with their touchy-feeling warmth and fuzziness. The fact that he is hated by many means he must be doing something right. Go get 'em, Big John.

I was going through some serious lows in my faith and I was a show that this preacher "performed" that was a series. I was only able to see one part of the series because I worked doing the day. I wrote a long letter explaining to him that I was at the ends of my ropes and felt that his series could help me through this period. I was VERY DESPERATE. I asked him if he could send me the $20.00 series and I would pay him double as soon as I get it, plus become a faithful giver. He wrote me back and said he couldn't afford to do so and to watch his show that is FREE. The series probably costed him $2.00 to make It is all about the money with this man!

This is one of the scariest men I have ever seen on tv, and I have seen plenty of horrormovies. The guy must be a demon.

Speaking of a nut job.... John Hagee hauls his (as someone else wrote) 500+ lb. butt up to his pulpit and rants and raves about "socialism" and "communism" here in the United States. It's a bunch of bull that could probably be ripped to shreds by a moderate who's good at debate. I once saw him go on an eight (or so) minute tirade about President Bush and how justified he was invading Iraq. If that's what he thinks, fine. There's nothing wrong with it. But keep your ever-loving politics out of the pulpit! To his credit, most of what Hagee says about marriage and relationships is pretty good. Though he seems to subscribe more to the "wives submit to your husband" school of thought, I think that most of his opinions regarding marriage are pretty equitable.

John Hagee is awesome. I truly believe his messages are inspired by God. He preaches about redemption, forgiveness, salvation and even hell. Others fail to realize that not everyone is going to Heaven. Hagee understands the importance of the cross and the blood that was shed there. Without it, forgiveness and salvation are not possible. His sermons are from the living Bible which makes them messages of Truth. How dare others call themselves pastors or leaders when all they deliver are motivational messages. Hageee recognizes himself as a sinner and because of the grace of God, he has been forgiven of those sins. Stay true to the Word John, because God remains true to us.

John Hagee is yesteryear's preacher. Out of touch preaching like they did 30 years ago --- all you hear is that you are a no good sinner and that you are condemned to HELL unless you send your money in this morning or buy his tapes. I have attended his church a couple of times and he does appeal to many people that do support him well. He lives in the Dominion Country club which is very exclusive area where David Robinson and George Strait live -- it is OK with me if he wants to live there. He works hard and I have no problem with him living in a million dollar home. I think he helps many to find Christ so he is doing good for people that need his methods. He just is not my style. I prefer Joel Osteen of Houston for his unconditional love and positive message that makes one feel good about coming to church. I think that most people today need help in their daily lives and Osteen has a positive message for daily living much like Norman Vincent Peale had. I do not miss getting beat up every Sunday by my preacher that is the way it was 30 years ago!

I started watching him because I found his rantings amusing but I very quickly became disturbed by the unadulterated hatred that he spews out of his mouth every week. I found it even more disturbing that people were taking him seriously and even applauding his statements. His fathers day sermon was predominantly about the necessity of physical punishment of children. A day that should be a celebration of our fathers turned into a sermon about pain??! Hagee preaches intolerance, xenophobia, censorhip and christian theocratic rule of the US, but only if it conforms to *his* idea of christianity. He has no respect for other cultures or other beliefs. Theologically, he is so far off base it's ludicrous. He preaches negativity and hatred and should be ignored.

One of the most brilliant and prolific speakers I have ever heard! He is one of the few that will tell it like it is!
