Burger King with a bar...not sure what the attraction is but the place was filled on a Sat. evening, lots of little feet, maybe they are to young to know any better. If you like steamed/microwaved/petrified products that resemble beef served in a plastic basket then this is your place. The place is a combination of Chuck E Cheese & Burger King gone bad with wait staff.Without any shred of doubt the worst hamburger I have ever eaten in my lifetime. First try, the "steak sliders" were not even cooked (not raw, still frozen). Second try it was as tough as a golf shoe. The waitress offered to bring a plain old cheese burger with everything & I agreed. By the time that arrived I was not even hungry. It was barely edible & at that point I did not have the heart to send it back again and just gave in. She kept coming by hoping for a thumbs up, had me apoligizing for their horrible food, I felt so bad for sending it back, twice! Maybe it is my fault for coming here....everyone else seems to be enjoying it.The beer was good and the wait staff were overly attentive if not apoligetic (guessing they have heard this before). The only positive note was they did not charge me for my food although my wife suffered through a cold burger that was not any better. The food tasted worst then most fast food joints. How they can call these "Gourmet" Burgers???I guess everyone has their own tastes and that's ok, that can be the only reason this place stays in business as anyone who knows burgers knows this is not the place to enjoy one, unless your prefer shoe leather & stale buns. The Red Robin will not be on my list of places to eat, first & last time.

Red Robin has a pretty big selection of different types of burgers/sandwiches. I always go for the chicken sandwich tossed in buffalo wing sauce! Pretty tasty. I have gotten burgers here before too and it wasn't too bad. The onion rings come out all stacked together and are pretty good. It isn't the first place I'd pick to go...but I would definetely go back sometime.
bamacreeker 06/19/2009
Extremely overpriced mass produced stamped out meat patties. I have eaten hamburgers back in elementary school that were as good as these. Great presentation and creative creations. Everything looks wonderful until you actually take a bite. $9-$11 burgers that are not even one inch thick. Gourmet condiments/extras.....horrible hamburger. Save your money and go to Five Guys next door for a much better burger and tastier fries. Location reviewed is in Trussville, AL.

This was the most over priced burger I ever ate in my life! I love burgers. I have been anticipating going here for 4 years, but my wife isn't a burger/fries type. We got a coupon in the mail for a $5.00 gourmet burger and we had to give it a try. It was HORRIBLE! She got the grilled chicken salad and I got the Guacamole Burger. There was nothing grilled about her salad. It was pulled straight from the refrigerator. The chicken didn't even have grill marks on it from being previously grilled. It was so cold. My wife eats no meat cold unless it is sushi or sashimi. Then the sliced apples that were arranged throught the salad were turning brown! How discusting! I took a bite of it and actually threw up!! I avoided any drama in the dining area and barely made it to the bathroom when I lost it. When I came back to eat my burger it was already cold. The fries were still hot but my hamburger patty was cold. I don't mind luke warm food as long as it has flavor. Sad to say, but this preformed frozen patty had less flavor than Burger King's flame broiled patty. Same for the Guac. Guac is supposed to be more than smashed avacados. There are seasonings that go into good guac. l could not taste any. Of course, my taste buds were off from throwing up the salad. To put it in perspective, this salad and burger with lemonaid and 16oz beer at Red Robin cost over $30.00. We ate soup/salad and a Super Club sandwich with tea and a 22oz premium beer at Rafferty's for $22.00 including taxes and tips and it was awesome!

If you are a burger fanatic like I am than Red Robin is the place for you. I have tried a wide variety of their burgers and have enjoyed almost each one I have tried. My personal favorite it the Royal Red Robin Burger. When I go I almost always get a burger but from what I have tasted their other stuff is quite good as well. One of my favorite things about Red Robin is that they offer unlimited fries, and will even give you your fries before your meal arrives. There service is usually good and fast. It offers a good family friendly atmosphere as well. A few negatives about Red Robin is that they tend to be quite busy on weekends so you may have to wait a while to be seated. Also, their prices may be a little on the high side when it comes to burgers.Overall I think Red Robin is a great place to eat and I would certainly recommend it to someone who was looking for a great burger.

I frequently go to red robin, and always order the 'shroom burger. However, my most recent experience has changed my outlook completely. I ordered the 'shroom burger medium, as I always do. After nearly an hour wait, they brought it out and it was hardly cooked. The edges were barely browned and the middle of the burger was completely raw all the way through. It looked like they just pulled the thing out of the freezer and put it on a bun. Needless to say, I was absolutely horrified that they would serve something like that, considering the outbreaks of E. Coli lately, and sent it back. Shortly after, the manager came by and handed me a new one and informed me that I want my burgers cooked "medium well" from now on, like the one he just brought. I told him that it was actually over cooked for my taste. He never offered any kind of compensation, or apologies, just insinuated that I didn't know what I wanted, really, and walked off. On top if it, they made me pay full price for the meal! I cannot have any sort of faith in the quality of food at Red Robin, if they think it's acceptable to serve uncooked food. NOT under cooked... Uncooked. Think about it, what else could they be doing to your food, if something as simple as cooking it isn't a priority?!? I do not recommend them to anyone. In fact, I highly recommend avoiding the place like a plague. They are over priced, have low quality meat, the service by the waiters and waitresses are usually fine, but the management at the one in Portage, MI was an absolute joke and they are willing to risk the health and safety of their customers by serving raw food, and not offering any kind of compensation or apologies.

Me and my husband will also very unhappy with the food. Everything was cold. No more hot french fries. We will not return. Location was Elk Grove, California

The biggest disappontment out there. Overpriced garbage.
snerb 12/09/2008
Average burger, awful fries, incredibly overpriced!
el1977 11/17/2008
Bad Bad Bad, I've been there about 3 or 4 times and I notice everytime I eat there I will get a very bad stomach ache. The meat does not taste fresh and never cooked through. RiverMark Plaza (Santa Clara CA)
TheCavsfan 11/16/2008
Red Robin is bad. It is an insult to society. The food is bad. I would much rather buy diesel fuel in Inuvik for an ice road trucker than the garbage that Red Robin calls food. It costs too much. The service is awful. Their ads are stupid, that burger is not spicy. Go to a local place instead.
Chalky 11/10/2008
I think Red Robin is pretty gross. I don't especially like it there. The fries are okay...they are unlimited, which is nice but they start you off w/only five or six french fries. I don't eat red meat so I can't comment on their burgers but their chicken sandwiches are pretty lackluster. Also, the food comes out a little too quick for me. If you look at their kitchen, I don't even think they grill anything.
oyomyk 10/09/2008
I had the $11.95 Fish and Chips yesterday. It looked great when brought to the table. Turned out to be 4 mini-loaves of breading with a table spoon of white fish incased in each. Accompanied by 8 steak fries and tub of tartar sauce. I ate 2 "loaves" brought the other 2 home and the cat wouldn't even eat the"fish". This was my second visit. The service at the initial visit was horrendous and they weren't even busy. The burgers were fair. The shakes at 4 bucks a piece weren't worth it and not even the usual cherry on top! I have now been there 3 times, the first, second and last!!!!!!
Jodi323 08/28/2008
Wow, I have been to Red Robin five times now. I think their Whiskey River Burger is to die for! YUM! We always go to the Plymouth, Minnesota location and they always have had excellent service, even during the busy lunch rush. Free pop refills without even asking, as well as free fry refills. I love that they actually serve a 'medium' burger, as most places in MN only will serve a gross well-done burger. I will go back for sure!
Spike65 07/01/2008
Salem, OR. Place is jammed with noisy families. Service was O.K. for the first encounter but failed with the "endless" drinks and fries. My theory is they are successful because the adults can drink booze while they eat and have the kids there with them. Otherwise not a great experiece for me. Been there twice. Same both times. Even had to wait awhile to be seated.
carrieras 06/30/2008
We were incredibly disappointed. Rather expensive for a pre-made patty type of burger. Truly nothing "gourmet" about it. Fries were lack luster too. I have had cafeteria food better than the "gourmet" dinner I had this evening.
FryGuy 06/10/2008
Great tasting food! Unfortunately, fry portions (supposed to be bottomless) were too small and infrequent, and the service my family received was rushed. I actually emailed corporate and got a call from the restaurant Manager, who said their fries are measured. I was offered a larger portion of (bottomless) fries next time I visit, if the same Manager was there. I'm not sure I want take that gamble.
Hapy2cu 06/02/2008
EXPENSIVE!!!!!! The onion ring stack is $8.00 for 13 rings...the burgers are $8.00 - $10.00 EACH!!!! Drinks (w free refils if you can get them) was $2.49 for a SODA!!!! We shared a burger and the meal still cost $29 for the two of us. So how was the food....just ok....for what we paid..I wanted "can't wait to go back burgers"...instead we got...Let's go to Chester's it's cheaper...The burger was not "amazing" or even "wow"... it was just a burger.....we won't go back.

Sort of like eating at Chotchkies (from Office Space), but the food aint bad
irishgit 10/01/2007
Half-decent burger joint, with pretensions to better. Pretty waitresses are a plus (at least the one near my home)
BruceF 10/01/2007
Not that great of a burger, they serve small portions of fries and then you wait forever for a second. The service was slow and the food is overpriced. I will pay highr amounts if the food is good. Their's was not worth it. I cgave it 2 tries and both were bad.
meg10222 09/15/2007
Such a great atmosphere, and the food is so delicious. My drink was always filled as soon as it was empty, and I always leave Red Robin full and happy. I highly recommend the Caesar Wraps!
mapcat 09/03/2007
I have never had a good experience here. Service is TERRIBLE. After you get your food, prepare to never see your server again, assuming he or she is actually the one bringing your food. Want refills on drinks or fries (as the menu claims)? Tough. The food is ok, but portions are small and for the price it's nothing special. Update: I visited a location in Dayton, OH a few months ago and the service there was much better. It was very busy and there were 6 at our table, but we still got very good service. Columbus restaurants of this chain are the ones with problems.
NotARedRobinFa n 07/09/2007
Expensive for a burger, nobody makes one that good. Bottomless fries left me deisgusted. I got 5 fries with my bruger when it came out, and by the time I got my waiter's attention, he put in the "order" for more fries, came back to pick them up, and they finally cooled off enough to eat......almot 15 minutes had passed and my burger was room temp. Here's a thought, don't be so stingy with the "Bottomless Fries", and bring enough out initially so that the odds are increased that the customer won't need more........or at least so he/she can make it halfway through the burger before needing more.

I went through a phase of eating Blue Cheeseburgers everywhere I went. Red Robin provided the only Blue Cheeseburger that I was truly disappointed with. I think it was the fried onion straws that ruined it for me. I remember being thoroughly unimpressed. I gave it two stars, instead of one, because the service was friendly.

To Mascat:
I dont know if you remember leaving this comment on this page or not, but I had to comment to you. I work at a Red Robin and Im sorry that you had a terrible experience. Sometimes people who come in to eat dont realize that there server can be busy and not just ignoring them. While yes bad servers sometimes do ignore there guest, good ones dont. I cant count the number of times that someone has gotten angry at me because they think that Im ignoring them, but really I have 7 other tables with at least 3 people at each needing my attention. There is only one of me and at least 20 guest. Serving is a tuff job! And treating a server like a servent isnt very nice!!! I think everyone should go and work in a resturant as a server so they can understand better. This isnt ment to offend anyone but I just felt I needed to say my peace on the topic as a server.

Food was ok. However, cocktails were very, very WEAK!!! In fact, I thought I was drinking "virgin" cocktails. $7+ for a "premium" margarita, and you could not taste the tequila it!!!! If you're going to eat there, stick with the food. Be smart, and get your cocktails someplace else!!
annie429 07/18/2006
I love it. The sales team is always genuinely happy to see you, even late at night. They remember and appreciate their regulars. The menu is completely customizable and the food quality is amazing. Almost everything is made in-house so it s fresh and tasty. Refills are brought out without even having to ask. You can dictate your entire dining experience.

I have driven past this place a million times and never thought to stop in. I didn't realize Red Robin was a chain restaurant, since the location next to me is located in a hotel that used to have a club, I thought it was a nightclub. We took my cousin out for lunch on her birthday Saturday afternoon (04/01/06) and were debating about where to go. She said "Do you like burgers?" and I said "Sure!" so she told me about Red Robin in Clifton, NJ. We got there fairly early so it wasn't crowded. Our server was wonderful and I wish I had gotten her name for this review. We started out with the big onion ring stack-up and some mozzerella sticks which were fantastic. I had the regular burger and my cousin had one with BBQ sauce on it, while my son had the chicken fingers basket. With all of that food, we weren't able to go for more fries but refills on our drinks were brought out to us without us even having to ask. I suggest going to the website where they have a downloadable pdf file of the menu. I was a bit overwhelmed and I didn't want to take up too much time figuring out the menu so I went for my usual at any burger joint but now I know I can check it out before we go back because WE WILL BE BACK! Decor was cool, restrooms clean, all staff was friendly. Do try it out!

I went to Red Robin for the first time in several years, and it was not as good as I remember it. Although the burger selection was extensive, and my burger was good, the overall selection is not that great. I disagree with anybody who complains about their prices. Their prices were comparable to similar offerings at other casual dining chains. I don't know if people are comparing their prices to fast food places like BK or McDonalds, but in my experience, the Red Robin prices were very reasonable. The service was not good at my visit, and as a waiter myself I understand that one bad experience doesn't necessarily mean all service will be bad. However, their staff was very young, and I got the feeling that service wouldn't be their strong point. I also noticed that the restaurant catered heavily to families with young children. They had a mascot walking around the restaurant and balloons everywhere. If I had a kid with me it might be entertaining, but for just my wife and I it was a little annoying. Overall I left feeling the restaurant was average. I might go there again if I wanted a burger or something small like that, but I don't think it will be something I'll be dieing to head back to.

Good burger, but the greeters are so cheerful it can be creepy.

good options for everyone, and although the pirces are a little high, this place is awesome.

Good food for slightly high prices. I do have to say, especially being a vegetarian, that this place gives you options! Free substitution on any burger for their Gardenburger patty.
sfalconer 09/13/2005
The place is nice and well decorated. It's a little loud but what do you expect from a burger joint on steriods. It is a sit-down place with waitress service but the main fair is burgers. Good but expensive burgers and sandwiches with a few main dishes thrown into the mix. The frys are excellant and they are supposed to be bottomless but I was never asked if I wanted any more. The service was good but if you are on a tight budget you might want to stick with the likes of McDonald's.
CanadaSucks 09/02/2005
. . .good burgers, but the place is always full of screaming kids with dumb parents who can't control them.
Rushboy 09/01/2005
This place has the best burgers and fries my favorite is the teryaki burger its very good .

I went to one of these in Colarado Springs, Colorado. It was awesome. Excellent Chicken Sandwich and very good fries. They need some where i live.

Great place, hires fairly and has unique food. It's very fun to eat at. Highly recommended, especially for the bottomless fries.

Don't care for it.

i always get the clucks and fries. don't find them expensive at all.

The food is good but for the price you can eat at a much higher class place.

Good French Fries and Good Burgers. Very Expensive!!
fluffytuffy 09/13/2004
I always enjoy going to RR for lunch, always a good burger, and when the fries are on (crunchy outside, soft inside), they are GREAT. Staff is always nice and friendly, but sometimes it takes too long to get your food, especially in a place that caters to lunch crowds with limited time.
CaptainCrunch 08/04/2004
I think it's very good - especially the spicy Cajun shrimp. And I like the decor, too.
OlyStacy 07/26/2004
This place has the best fries on earth especially with the sour cream ranch sauce to dip them in BUT the prices have become much too high for what you get. Not to mention pop that that costs 2.29 and you are lucky to get one refill. Service is usually pretty good but still not worth the price. Keep the cost down RED ROBIN!
BA Spike 01/04/2004
I've only been to one, (Clinton Twsp, MI), and in the 3 times I've been there, it was great the 1st time, lousy the two times after that. Mostly food served totally cold. Pretty much spoiled some large family get-togethers.
yankee_doodle 12/26/2003
Red Robin servers overly processed, preserved foods that require little work on their part. They've made consistance across there multitude of locations a priority and as a result, taste has suffered. I've had their clam strips that had so much salt in the batter (Not added during prep or after) that they were almost inedible. Their sandwiches may be served at the correct temperature but the taste.....
