They suck more recently, but their earlier stuff grants them 5Stars

  AFI is, and has always been my favorite band. They have always stood out from the punk rock genre. Sing the Sorrow is one of the most unique albums I have ever heard, but my favorite album has to be The Art of Drowning. Back in my "goth" days, both those albums carried me through some dark times, and some of the best times in my life. Jade Puget, yes, is a WAY underrated guitarist. I can appreciate the new style they are going towards. A truly unique band; they are one of those bands where each song is unique and never ceases to amaze you.

Blech! Depressing, downbeat, harsh and just plain unenjoyable.

The music that comes from this band is so good. The rhythms and lyrics take you somewhere few other bands can. Their music expresses such pain and joy--such darkness and light--in a blend that feeds your soul. They dont get enough credit for their contribution to the music world.

AFI just took my heart and flew away with it. Their music is a very dark, beautiful kaleidoscope of emotion that you'd really have to hear to believe. I find myself rereading their lyrics all the time, discovering things that I somehow missed over and over again. Give them a chance if you haven't. You'll be glad you did.

I am definately not a big punk fan. Metal all the way(if you couldn't already tell from my name.) But these guys are so different and their songs are so catchy that you can't help but like them.

people afi is soo good. ITs finally a good band with new sounds, they rule. if you like afi also check out thursday they got new sounds too

This is kind of scary but I really like this band. I had no idea they were so, venerable (hope that's a compliment), but they have what? 7 cd's out? They have one of the most unique sounds out there, thanks in large part, to Davey Havok's voice. Can't describe it, don't want to describe it. But I think they kind of grew on me. I used to get turned away from the videos because, um, Havok used to scare me. I wouldn't listen to the music. But while listening to the radio, heard a song which I adored, only to find out it was from them. Thus began my fondness of them. Overall, a really good band that has their own sound which I admire.

hehe, im listening to them right now. A Fire Inside is a really good band, i was sposed to go to their concert had the ticket and everything, really upset i couldnt go tho, i heard it was absolutely amazing. all their albums are good tho im not sure how happy they'd be knowing theyre under the punk genre:P They such a fun band to sing along with, very different but really good.

great band. their last album(The Art of Drowning) made the 50 best punk albums of all time. They were in the middle-ish area, around 25-30. I think. Awesome band.

A great band with great lyrics with meaning behind them. I think their new album "Sing the Sorrow" is their best!
