Let's face it, this guy weighs in heavily on the Right. He has a brilliant mind, a terrific command of vocabulary and a sense of humor he uses with ingenuity. If you are looking for entertainment, go no further. If you are looking for real honest discussion of issues, then you will have to look elsewhere.

Rush is fantastic. Liberals dislike him because he sees right through them and tells the truth. To liberals, it smarts. As you can see below, his critics have a condescending view of him as if they are somehow intellectually superior. The sad thing is, they are not. They have little factually-based criticism; it's mostly that he's "smug," "racist," "a biggot," and the like. It's the very "name calling" they claim to dislike. Critics like that show an ignorance of plain facts and a blinkered faith in their failing, liberal idealogy. It's a shame.

He's the man. He practically invented talk radio. In a class all by himself.

Carries a bit too much of that Whitehouse water in his head. Rush is a  typical neocon-- incapable of intelligent debate and resorts to name calling and shrieking.

HINT: To communicate with a Neocon you must use the KISS method; keep it two words or less and  two syllables  or less. If at first you fail, keep repeating it louder and louder until they can understand (to combat boredom use their name calling back at them). This may take practice to perfect but considering you're trying to communicate with a rightwinger, they wont notice youre repeating yourself. 

Remember: You can't defeat them intellectually; they have no intellect to defeat.

Great radio show, always documents his material. Liberals have been brutal to him and the slander never ends, but he can handle it.  

Smug and condescending is part of his gimmick. He does a lot of goofy stuff like that, purposely doing things that seem to be arrogant, sexist, or whatever, just to "live up to the stereoytype" to further agitate those who are doing the stereotyping. A girl I went to college with told me Rush was sexist and bigoted, so I told her to listen to him for a week, or longer, and find something to support her claim. Needless to say, she failed and apologized.

Don't much come out on`political issues as it should be a given that all sides of the spectrum are entitled to have their say. That said, I often find Limbaugh smug and condescending, no less intolerant than John Stewart or Dennis Miller.

The Oxycontin has ruined his brain.  He should have been removed before Imus. There's only one word to describe him BIGOT!

So far, I have seen Rush Limbaugh accused of hate speech and inciting hate in the hearts of his listeners among other baseless claims. In the 18 years I have been listening to him I have never heard anything hateful come from his mouth. If my liberal friends would cite a few examples of something they have actually heard and not something copied and pasted from sites such as MoveOn.org I'd be happy to listen. Rush points out the hypocrisy of liberals and in their mind, that is hate speech. If you want to hold his past drug addiction against him, please be sure you know all the facts, such as the failed surgical procedures he went through initially to ease the back pain from which he suffered, and also the fact he was cleared of all charges on doctor shopping etc. Rush does not have to present a balanced point of view although his explanation of the liberal perspective is often more honest and complete than what we hear in the left-wing media. He makes no bones about being a Conservative and says if you listen to him you are going to hear a Conservative point of view. That is far more honest than some of the "journalists" who are clearly left leaning in their writings and reportings yet claim to be "balanced." If you don't want to hear things from a Conservative standpoint, then please turn the dial to another station. In the bigger picture, I credit first Larry King, Bruce Williams, and then Rush Limbaugh with saving AM radio. As FM radios became cheaper and more readily available in automobiles and small portable sets, their superior sound quality and the fact it broadcasts in stereo, made FM the natural place for music programs to call home. AM radio was on it's way to becoming a band full of sports oriented and boring dull news programs. Larry King and Bruce Williams took their talk shows nationwide and attracted respectable size audiences. That set the stage for large audience syndicated radio. Rush struck a note with many Americans nationwide and he quickly rose to number one in the political talk radio field and has remained there ever since. His success opened the door to political talk radio dominating AM radio although you will also find other genres such as Kim Kommando's computer talk show, Dave Ramsay's financial program, Dr. Laura, even the Art Bell and George Noory types of programs have all enjoyed success. Liberals would like to silence Rush Limbaugh and other Conservatives by saying AM radio is dominated by Conservative hosts. Randy Rhodes, Ed Shultz, and Alan Colmes all have successful talk shows which are liberal in their perspective. The sad fact remains hard core liberals do not know how to appeal to a mass audience with humor and anything less than a hard edge approach. Air America, a completely liberal group of talk shows has had a free hand and because of private backing have not had to depend on advertisers as other shows in the free market have had to do. Their pitiful numbers in the ratings is not due to the fact Rush Limbaugh is on the air, they just don't resonate with the majority of Americans. No one is putting a gun to any radio station owner and saying they must accept Rush Limbaugh and not a liberal host. It's a matter of who is popular and who makes money for them. Those liberal hosts who are successful will tell you the reason for their success is the same reason as Limbaugh's success. They do not preach hate, they approach the news with humor and a wink to their audience and as a result, they fare better than the hate mongers on the left the same way Limbaugh fares better than the radicals on the right. Limbaugh blazed the way for all forms of talk radio and as far as I am concerned, some people consider the Conservative point of view hate speech whether it comes from Rush Limbaugh on AM radio or is written by Flick01 on Rate It All. com.

Anyway, Rush Limbaugh is a hypocritical neanderthal who deliberately fans the flames of the conservative-progressive war that has arisen in the U.S., not just fans flames, he starts the fires. All the while making piles of moola. Not that he doesn't work for it, but I don't admire the way that some people make their money, and he's one of them. He has no intention of trying to present a balanced point of view, because he wouldn't be so popular with his conservative fan base if he did. When did his fans stop thinking, if they ever did, that the First Amendment is a really good idea that protects us all from each other, and that it's a good thing to listen to and analyze other viewpoints? Sure, Rush has the First Amendment right to say what he wants (as long as he doesn't advocate violence), but does that relieve him of any responsibility to try to enlighten folks instead of stir up hatred and animosity? Some people just love trash talkers who say things in public that they themselves would like to say but don't dare to say to someone's face. These folks are non-thinkers who identify with someone who gives voice to the venom they feel deep within, and Rush validates their feelings of hatred of others who have viewpoints different from them. Why are some conservatives so hateful of "the libs"? Why do they feel so threatened? Perhaps it's because they're basically insecure people to whom all manner of things feel threatening? Conservatives, by definition, prefer that institutions, traditions, and values remain unchanged, so they feel threatened by viewpoints that advocate changing the status quo.

Being a US Navy Sailor, I have to say that Rush in an awsome patriot. He is a fine up standing American who will never have to MOOCH off of society because he works for a living. Yes he has a job, even if you are jealous that his is in an air conditioned radio booth. Sure he has had problems in the past unless you are Jesus, so did you.

He's the best  and if all the liberals assholes on here are slamming him...then he must be doing something right.

Rush is not a conservative and he is not for the Patriots of the USA. I have heard him since the early 90's and I distrust his views. He seems to be unaware of the cabal neo-con inside the government. I used to like the guy, because he put into words the difficulty I was having with some fairly intransigent liberal buddies in the '90s.  But then, as his mindless support of CEOs and their salaries became more and more suspect, I had to dump him.  I worked with upper level execs for 8 years at a major aerospace company and found them to have one thing on their minds:  Raping the company of its profits and blaming it on the little guy.

Opposes same-sex marriage while being thrice-divorced. (I can think of many same-sex couples who have been in relationships since before this buffoon dodged Vietnam.) 2. Bitching about the ACLU when their committment to defending his privacy rights is the only reason that his ass is not in jail over th Oxycontin thing (And then has the nerve to call people who use cannabis, a substance about as dangerous as breast milk, unamerican).
