I can't take it anymore. No more George. I'll only listen when Art or Ian are hosting.

thank you, i thought i was alone, yes, George appears to be a nice guy, but lately there are more music and adds then talk, and for some reason, the callers appear to be confused because they don't know when they are on...like last night , one said, Hello, 4 times times.. and thought he was on... I understand, that George chooses that technique to agree, with the being interviewed..he does tell his own stories, which is okay...or how he got onto talk radio.. that does not interest the one being interviewed though.. LET'S FACE IT, FOR EXAMPLE , HAS ANYONE REPLACED MOTHER THERESA YET.. SO JUST GO WITH THE FLOW.

Come On,enough already. Why is this man on all week when the net is full to the brim of people begging- BEGGING for a different host. Ian Punnet and George Knapp have proven how interesting radio can be, what the heck is wrong with Premiere Radio, or is this all part of the plan for dumbing down America.
TherealProfess or 10/17/2007
George had a rocky start after Art left, but since has blossomed as THE best talk show host around. His wit and charm grace the show. He brings exceptional knowledge of a multitude of topics and is more than well prepared for his guests expertise. His voluminous knowledge of the paranormal soon becomes apparent after two or three shows. He is opened minded and entertains many theories and rarely wil reject a cogent idea. He has more than made many listeners forget Art Bell! KUDOS to George!
dogbreath23 09/23/2007
Wasn't there a time when there were guests with above average minds or interesting ideas? Lately, it has become a david letterman show in that every guest is using the show to promote his or her product (boook, CDs, movies). It is not that there are more commercials than before, although I would not be surprised if there are, it is that the whole show is a marketing scam. One time GN referred to his advertisers as his clients. Excuse me, I thought that the listeners were his client and the advertisers paid him to get access to his listeners.
Bluemuse101 09/09/2007
I love(ed) Coast to Coast. I think Noory is a nice guy. Too nice for the kind of show that it is. We need an analytical mind and a no-nonsense, challenging IQ. Sorry, but Noory doesn't cut it. I've stopped listening and will not listen to anything Noory is on. His condescending voice just plain gets on my nerves. Sorry George, nothing personal. Please give us fans a new host. Please.
Charlie888 08/29/2007
The worst I've heard in a long time...where did they get this clown??
skywatcher1 08/10/2007
This show is great. He answers all phone calls and is a swell person.
TomLanders 08/02/2007
George is a nice guy, it ain't enough. He does not listen to his Guests, he makes inane remarks and responses. He is programming to the lowest commen denominator and the calls he takes prove it. The quality of callers on open? lines are awful. he does not even seem really interested in the topics he tries to talk about. I truly miss Art Bell. My guess is the ratings will start to tank very soon, however nobody ever went broke underestimating the general IQ level of the Public. It is a big loss for us all.
Iain1028 06/29/2007
But I do give GN credit, he had a two guests on about 2 years ago, one was just trying to sell his stupid DVD and stuff and the other was to give a secret that one of those freaky Fatima kids told only him and guess what, GN said unless you tell us you are off this program, and I thought that was integrity. Then he had the same guest on about 6 months ago and the guest was obviously very drunk, I am not kidding, just slurring his words and rambling...it was pathetic and GN should have ended it very early but he did not. Bring back Barbara Simpson and Ian Pundit and get rid of GN

Not as good as Art Bell, George is too gullable.

Noory seems to serve a non-existent younger crowd. He reminds me of a radio personality you would hear on the radio back in the old days. I enjoyed the show a lot at first, but it got boring after a while. The show lacks something - substance and new content. I find both George's and Art's show to be pretty boring and I think they could be doing something a lot more interesting/useful with their platform. Rather than send an e-mail to complain I just turn the radio off or listen to something else. Some people like it. I sometimes enjoy Ian Punnett's weekend show.
tokaj83 03/30/2007
What makes me the sickest about this show are his "open lines".Especially on friday with a whole four hours of these boring call ins, about dumb s***.It`s either about shadow people, idiodic dreams or some other crap George hasn`t heard for the last ill`nth time. It`s like these people have never heard of the show until yesterday and decide to call in and think that we all want to hear about your lame a** dream or OBE for a billionth time!!!Do you notice that most of his open line callers seem very new to his show, most of them say they`ve only been listening for about 2 months. I don`t know maybe it`s just me.

I began listening to 'Coast to Coast AM' about a year ago. At first, I was rather intrigued and delighted with the focus on the paranormal and other non-conformist topics. Initially, I liked George Noory, but it was only after listening to 3 shows that I quickly realized this 'nice guy' is not the brightest, and quite simply is not up to the speed of the potential of this incredible format. Indeed, it's the potential this show has, and how it is never met, that frustrates the hell out of me. George Noory really was not the best of choices for weeknight host. I concur with the many people here who are dumbfounded by George's complete lack of proficient interviewing skills, and the fact that the man does NO pre-interview research on his guests. Art Bell? I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about this man that rubs me the wrong way.

Remember the good old days?? When Coast to Coast was actually something to look forward to??? When things were interesting??? And the show had some real life to it???? When Art was on all week long????? You know: before George????????
nightwerewolf 06/10/2006
I often wonder if George is reading something else when he interviews someone. God is he dumb. What a great radio show this once was. There's sometimes crazy conspiracy stuff on 90.7 fm after midnight weeknights in LA. George, please die or something.
JBG 06/03/2006
Noory is so intellectually ill equipped to engage his more interesting and sophisticated guests that he actually stunts what otherwise might be intelligent discourse if he just didn't say a word. The number of times I've been intently following a guests presentation only to have Norry throw the guest completely off track with some transparently inappropriate question or comment are far more norm than anomoly. Putting aside personalites here, he has simply ruined what used to be an intelligently presented and interesting show. The quality of guests AND callers has plummeted and unless changes are made C2C's M-F audience will slowly drift away owing to intolerable boredom. Irony of ironies, whomever oversees Noory's continued presence as host apparently hasn't any more a clue than Noory himself. What a waste.
solihull 05/20/2006
George Noory is an idiot! Last night's show (5/19 - R/F Chips) was a classic of obtuseness and ignorance: cutting off his guests with questions that clearly showed he didn't undertand what they were talking about; spinning everything so it was only about him and his current illegal alien obsession; demonstrating his astonishing ignorance about a guest worker program: "I don't care, I still think they're illegals"... etc. etc. etc. Art Bell, please come back from the Philippines and take your program back!
dep483 04/19/2006
George is terrible. It would help if he knew something about the subject matter the guests bring to the show. Simply a bad interviewer, if the guest doesn't carry the show, it heads south.
Don Parker 03/29/2006
PLEASE! Give us back our old Coast to Coast! George Noory is constantly using his bully pulpit to preach his personal Christian beliefs. Several times a week by arranging guests that read or quote scriptures. These Bible thumping guests are taking over C2C and being preached to several nights a week is getting annoying. Off goes my radio. I ask my old time listener buddies if they had noticed this irritating practice as well. They told me that they too are turning off these preachy programs that George seems to enjoy booking. Some programs, such as tonights broadcast of 03/29/06, are is listed as a typical C2C subject. This one was listed on the C2C web site as about terrorism, but turned out to be misleading and was yet another Christian guest with a religious agenda. Steve Quail was continually quoting and preaching Bible scriptures, once more tricking listeners to tune and get another ear full of Noorys attempt to convert C2C listeners to his Christian agenda. This gets very tedious and boring and, once again, off goes my radio. Back when C2C was at its best Art Bell would ask his guests and callers not to quote or read from the Bible, but to just give their thoughts about the subject at hand. I tried writing to the other C2C hosts, sponsors and producers about Georges need to convert the rest of the world to his religion but I had no results. I think George Noory should quit or be fired from C2C and have his own religious radio program so he can preach the gospel long into the night along with all the other up front religious formats instead of trying to sneak and trick the C2C listeners into his own personal beliefs. If anyone feels the same please make your opinions known to anyone that you think could have a positive influence in correcting this misguided host.. Please! Give us back our old Coast to Coast!

I've never seen a talk show host assassinate a good show faster than George Noory. George Bore-Me is either an extreme political bigot or an idiot. He talks about how vulnerable the Emirates deal makes the US under the Bush administration but doesn't mention anything about Clinton giving away ICBM delivery technology to Red China or giving away computer RAM memory technology to that madman Kim Il Sung in North Korea (they can now finance their nuclear projects from selling 1/3 of all the PC memory in the world). SNoory is a hypocrite too. He is incensed with the journalist that reported that all but one person survived the mining accident in West Virginia, but gives Dan Rather a pass for his journalist debacle that promoted a forged document as factual data intended to discredit the president. One good thing about George's early AM show, at least I am getting my sleep now. I listent only when Art and Ian are the host. Long Live Coast to Coast AM With Art Bell! (BTW, dont bother writing to the producer. Based on her response that basically said George is politically neutral, she must either have a hearing impairment or is listening to a different radio show).

The only guests George seems to engage are those who share his own opinions.....very boring. And sadly the Show has lately turned into a political pulpit for....you guessed it...Bush Bashing. I miss the days with Art when you could tune in and expect the unexpected! When guests were CHALLENGED with provocative questions and asked to actually support their claims with facts. Boy do I miss a good argument!
Baheshdi 12/21/2005
Noory is as bad as everyone says. He does not seem to be able to understand what his guests are saying. He seems to have an understanding of science and technology that is beneath most school children. The only time he seems comfornatable is when he is exchanging shibboleths with some New Age guest. Whenever he has a quaility guest he cannot understand what he/she is saying. You can tell this by the subsequent questions. It's terrible. By the way, the quality of the guests have gone way down since Noory obviously favors the past life/crystal wearing/occult type guests. How did this guy get the Coast to Coast job? Even pompus Ian Punnit is superior to this guy.
CantStandYa 11/17/2005
These people who give George a 5 star rating are clearly either not listening or are flat out lying. 5 stars means Great. Someone who is boring, repetitive, simplistic, uninteresting, childish, un-engaging, ignorant, unwilling to do proper pre-interview research, unable to ask or even prepare intelligent questions, and unable to follow up meaningfully on virtually anything a guest says IS NOT GREAT!!!!! NOT GOOD! NOT EVEN OK! You might as well just give the microphone to the guest and let them give a monologue. It would be more effective, and to be honest that's essentially what happens most nights anyways. The guy has single-handedly ruined what used to be an entertaining passtime for insomniacs. I was going to apply the same logic to my rating and give him a 2, only because I can with a great deal of imagination imagine someone to be worse, but I can't do it. He in fact deserves no stars, but the rating system won't allow it. Terrible is terrible. Can't hide that.
anteros 10/25/2005
Noory is retarded. there is no other explanation for his inability to learn more that a child of five. (And why can't he pronounce the "ing" at the end of words?)

I discovered this show when Art Bell was already doing weekends, so I got some early doses of both Art and George. What I noticed as just a listener, and not a critic or microsurgeon about what I was hearing, was that as wacky as some topics could seem to some people, there are few topics that don't make you think. Art is great and knows how to do his thing. And what many seem to knock about George, which is his "common man" approach to interviews, as opposed to being the know-it-all expert, is what made me really like him more and more as time passed. He gets excited about new information. He doesn't assume he's right. He doesn't have too many predetermined notions and keeps an open mind about most topics. In the world of polarity, angry opinions, and general crabbiness in the media, it's nice to hear someone hear viewpoints and consider them honestly versus instant rejection, a la O'Reilly and others. So, if you want to try something that's VERY different, and probably refreshing, I would say to do the following. Look at their website, check out their past shows, find one that interests you, join their streaming tool on a trial basis and listen to hour 2 (hour one is normally open lines and news). Have an open mind and if you don't like what you hear, then you gave it a shot, but you may be surprised. I did just that (even listened to hour 1) and I have been regularly grabbing shows that sound interesting and have been pleasantly surprised most of the time.
BigScreenTV 09/30/2005
Listening to a good interview should be like eavesdropping on an interesting conversation. It's not supposed to be a series of prewritten almost off-topic questions, especially when each subsequent question has nothing to do with the previous question, and certainly nothing to do with the answer just given by the guest. George clearly demonstrates that he isn't coming close to understanding what the guest is actually saying. You can hear the frustration or sometimes bemusement of the guests as they try to steer the conversation back on topic. I truly wonder if George is even listening half the time. Last night the guest asked the caller a question, and George completely missed this and went off on some completely different tangent, and of course went right on to the next caller. It's quite frankly embarassing. It's embarassing for George, but also embarassing that the producers of this show haven't done anything about this swirling vortex going down the toilet. Art may have been a little more "out there", but at least he could actually CONVERSE with people, and contribute interesting things to the conversation.
TheHorseman 08/17/2005
The show's concept is great, but Noory is some kind of propagandist, Noory constantly quotes WorldnetDaily and everyone who has been on the net for some time knows WND is a rag of a magazine run by none other than Joesph Farrah (who incidently might be Noorys cousin)and Farrah was one of the rabbid anti-American nut job who believes the USS Liberty attack was provoked and well deserved.... Joseph Farrah is the same guy who insulted Senator McCain by questioning his POW status and what he said while being tortured by the Vietcong, hes a despicable demented character. To condemn a man for what he may have done while being held as a POW and under torture is a rank and disqusting act. I have no respect for someone who would do that.....
lyngor16 08/11/2005
Yeah, Noory definitely has his bad points. Like somebody said, he personalizes the show way too much... He once said he saw a guy at a video store give him a funny look... apparently evidence he was the devil or something. Okkkk... Sometimes he sounds as if he's teaching church school for Catholics, it's all Father this and that... Too many Twilight Zone references (hey, that's just like a Twilight Zone episode!), and he seems to think the cities he's lived in in the U.S. are the center of the universe... No interest in, or knowledge of anywhere else in the world as far as I can tell. We know he's from Detroit... He never fails to mention, Hey, I'm from there, or wherever else he's been. Always says, what's going on, What's up -- needs to expand his sentence structure. No matter what someone says, about all he can come up with is: Do you think it was a ghost? Do you think it was a UFO? Or Do you think you were just dreaming? Deep. Art is certainly not perfect, but he has much more charisma, and ability to challenge and say provocative things -- unfortunately he seems to be fading away again.
KwaiLo 08/10/2005
This DEMANDING guy is exactly the kind of tool people are talking about in regards to the mindless masses that fill Georges head with nonsense. Every time someone makes a post DEMANDING reposts his own . Whats this, like 4 or 5 times now?! Get a life man. We heard you the first 4 times. I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said. The show has gone down the tubes with Noory at the helm. As a person, I wish him well. As the host of C2C, I wish he'd go away!
Demanding 08/10/2005
Almost no topic is off limits, some are more provocative and controversial than others. Thought provoking, the programs achieve an important objective in that they expose people to unconventional thinking. Over time the most astute listeners will evolve into critical thinkers and will not be easily fooled no matter the source. All segments of the show at all times are presented in a professional manner. The labels to the left or to the right do not apply, it is all inclusive. The shows appeal and success can be measured, by its large, loyal and diverse audience. George Noory has taken the show to new heights by incorporating roundtables that offer the opposing views of four guests, two on either side. Worn out topics like the 1947 Roswell incident and bigfoot are less frequent. The calls are screened the word screened is not a dirty word, it is another indicator of the quality of the show and its host. Call screening separates the chaff from the wheat, it also exposes any biases if present. The saying you reap what you sow holds never more true than if you hear the intelligent questions, comments, compliments and thank you's from the listeners. The callers are permitted to disagree or criticize without being humiliated or hung up on.

I have listened since Art Bell first started his show years ago. 50% of the time Art would be incredible. 50% of the time he sounded like a mental train wreck. Eventually many pressures got to Art. First he quit being on air. Then came back on weekends. Now he as announced he will be on just two nights each month. I always thought he could be way too rude with callers. George is totally different. Yes, he is a nice man. And I think excellent at pulling out good dialoge from just plain callins. George has more topics covered than Art, he moderates debate better than Bell, and has developed an ability to have two guests on with one view point, and two more with opposite views and keep the debate more focused and civil. He is sort of the Larry King of overnight extreme topics. More topics, more guests, more callers. And a nice guy.
Pretty Buffy 06/21/2005
George is such a nice guy with a friendly voice. For the most part, the subjects are interesting and George keeps it moving smoothly.
Handsome Hal 05/29/2005
Good job George.....keep it up
andycyxu 05/05/2005
George Noory is too gullible! I only listen now when I know some interesting guest is on, otherwise I wait to listen to Art on weekends, he can make the most stupid call interesting! Art rules!
Tesla's Revenge 05/03/2005
Geroge Boring is more like it. After what Art Bell molded over the years, this guy has brought it to mainstream mindlessness. He just lacks the creativity to expand on subject matter that a guest has to offer by reverting to personal little quips that he tries to establish as some sort of breakthrough discoveries. He clearly rides Art Bell's coattails, but now drives the show to the ground. Screeners always put on callers to kiss his you know what. So obviously I don't recommend listening unless there's a guest whose material can overshadow his lack of knowledge or ability to expand on a topic (check the website beforehand), and never bother with the first hour because he's not funny, not interesting and puts on a pretentious humble attitude while stroking himself. It's just a matter of time that another show will come around and pick up where Art Bell leaves off as he goes in and out of retirement.
MINITRUCKIN94T OY 04/28/2005
Noory has got to be one of the best interviewers on air to date. He has such a great voice for radio and is clever. I also enjoy the broad and different guests he has on. The only thing I dont enjoy is that the time for callers to make statements and have questions because of the long breaks at the top of the hr and well 2 full hrs would be great 1 hour for the guest and 1 hr for open lines. Thanks George for your great show Eric of Springfield MO
callmebruce 04/12/2005
I can't say anything that hasn't already been said here, except listening to George is painful. Guests have to fight to be interesting. His knowledge of his own show material is limited, and yeah, he seems likes a nice guy, that doesn't make for good radio. If anyone who handles him is listening, the C2C New England market has lost at least 3 listeners. If that figures into a projection for ratings, good. If not, I expect that overnight talk radio will be a wasteland again in short order. M-F anyway.
zzinfo 04/03/2005
Amen. I can't listen to even the increasingly rare good guests anymore because George has NO STYLE. Might as well just read a guest's book or web site because George can't say anything interesting to sustain a lively interview. It's like listening to a bad AI program trying to converse with a human, and believe me, this Turing test is a failure. Listen for a while if you really can't sleep, and guaranteed you will not hear your radio automatically shut off after an hour because you won't survive that long. Art said he chose George as his successor because George gets it. But George truly doesn't get it. It's just the same boring, hackneyed, empty headed, vacuous drivel night after night, so I've pretty much given up. Even the callers are becoming noticeably dumbed down because people with a genuine interest in actually THINKING about this stuff are leaving in droves. (The fact that most of this stuff is surely garbage is irrelevant. It's the possibilities that matter.) Without Art there on the weekends, this show's mediocrity would be intolerable.

The simple fact that the show's sponsors should know is that I simply rarely listen Mon-Fri to the show anymore. This is coming from an avid past listener. Unlike goofy, off-center, colorful Art Bell, Noory is simply a bland and boring character. I get enough of people like him at work and have no desire to sacrifice 4 more hours of my precious sleep time to listening to people like him. At best he is a B level host and is simply NOT up to the task of carrying a show on the level of coast2coast. His knowledge of the subject matter is often elementary and his style of hosting question, answer, question, answer format makes it even more dull. I can't help but notice that all the more cerebral guests (ie. Ed dames, Dr Kaku) are reserved for the weekends and Art. Can I have a amen saying that hearing about that Dr Morgus guy again is like hearing fingernails scatching on the chalkboard. I have also noticed that the quality of guests also has fallen. No more Red Elk, Sean David Morton, ...etc. More of the Dr Sky, The bad astronomer, ...etc types. BORRRINGG!! Here's my simple message to the show's corporate leadership. I know you probably signed this guy on with a nice long contract but find his price and please pay him off. Contrary to the propoganda you feed me about ratings, I know they must be falling. We Art Bell fans may be a little strange but we are not the standard drab sheepol that listen to the daytime cookie cutter talk shows. Keep us happy or we'll tune out.
cussack 12/19/2004
An excellent recommendation if you are havign a hardtime falling asleep.
bad show 11/26/2004
Noory thinks its all about personalizing the show--for example, what would MY responsibilities be if such and such happened, and lots of that. The quality of guests and the topics has deteriorated. He doesn't know much about anything and he focuses too much on the spirit stuff and not enough on quasi-science as Art Bell did--while that kind of stuff may be bogus, it is more entertaining than what he concentrates on now.
Yobsthead 11/18/2004
It's an alright program. I listen to it almost every night-what else is there to do at 1:00 am? I also like being creeped out at night when he gets a really spooky guest on. It bugs me sometimes that George seems really gullable and believes everything his guests say. Though he's probably just being polite.
