World's Best Cat Litter 4

I started out with Tidy Cats Scoopable Litter when I got my cats a few months ago. Then I switched to WBCL because it was biodegradable and flushable. I liked that, and found my bathroom smelled much better without the poop basket I would use to temporarily empty clumps to, since I was scooping directly into the toilet twice a day and flushing it away. (Note: I tried the multi-cat formula as well, but did not like the smell at all.) However, my cats were not covering their business very well...sometimes they attempted it but did not completely suceed. One of the cats sometimes peed and then jumped out of the box without even scratching. So I bought some more clay litter to switch back to. However, after reading some alarming info on the Web about health hazards of clumping clay litters, I decided to do a little test. I put some of the clay litter in a dixie cup and added water. It turned into a substance I thought I could probably use to make a ceramic pot. The thought of the dust being breathed into my cats lungs (and mine), or licked off their fur during grooming and getting into their digestive systems, was rather alarming. I did the same test with WBCL, and it turned into mush, but at least it was dissolvable. So I've decided to go back to WBCL, and every time I'm in the bathroom I take the scoop and cover any offending materials in the litter box until I scoop it out at the end of the day. I have also read some challenges to the clay health risk warnings, saying there is no proof of it and the whole thing was started by one person who posted some material on a Web site, but after feeling the slimy mass the clay clumping litter turns into after adding water, it seems too vile to expose my cats to! UPDATE: I researched more corn-based litters on various Web sites, and decided to try Clump'N Flush, hoping the texture may be different. I found it at Petco. I set up a second litter box next to the one with WBCL. The litter is mostly brown in color, and is a much finer texture. My cats immediately chose it over the WBCL, dug enthusiastically, did their business, and buried it just as enthusiastically! I'm not sure the odor control is as good as WBCL, and it's looking like it may leave some residue in the toilet. It also seems to gets caught in their paws and track more easily. All things considered, I would probably choose WBCL over it IF my cats were OK with it. That not being the case, I'll stay with Clump'N Flush for now and see how it goes with the odor control and flushing.

Well, after our abortive attempt with Swheat Scoop, our World's Best Multi-Cat just arrived from PetFoodDirect, and I cleaned the Littermaid box thoroughly (using diluted Simple Green, and wiping it down very well) and did not try to mix the litters since the smell and texture were similar. After a day, I am very impressed. Much, much less smell. I did scrape the bottom today to find one clump that was on the bottom -- but it was a very large clump, so it seems like it's clumping quickly enough to make Littermaid's 10 minute timer, and getting all of the urine in the clump. Cat used it without any concerns, even without mixing the litters. So far, Littermaid's blades have not gotten clogged like they did the first day with the Swheat Scoop. If you do not use an automatic litterbox and can fill it higher, you shouldn't have to scrape the bottom to get the clumps. Also, LitterMaid is making much less noise in operation now -- it seems that something about the Swheat Scoop was making it choke. I'll be honest -- everyone's crap stinks, even cats. If you're going to use a natural product without perfumes or other stuff, there will be some smell. But this is a much, much better natural product for a Littermaid than Swheat Scoop was.

Wonderful, wonderful stuff. It completely absorbs all the odors - I can't smell anything from a foot away. I use the Multi-Cat, which clumps very hard. It tracks very little, unlike some others, and there's no dust. A little pricey, around $25 for 17 lbs, but well worth it.

Made in Muscatine, IA. Company was just sold to Kent Seed this week. Also sold under the LitterMaid name brand but World's is less pricey. Cheaper at my local vet than through the departemnt storees. Cheack World's website...there may be a cheaper place to buy. Also it is available in about 15# which is more cost effective than the smaller 4#. My cats love it. Bought a LitterMaid auto box last April...started with Fresh Step and switched....too perfumy. My sister, one pound kitty one purebred RagDoll, LOVES it too. We both prefer the original formula over the multi-cat though.

I used this litter for 5 years and loved it. Great at controlling odors (it has its own slightly sweet corrn scent), clumps well, low tracking and healthy. It is expensive, but with concientious scooping, full box changes were needed less frequently. I found not using a liner was the best method as the clumos got stuck in the folds, and cleaning was easy enough anyway. The ONLY reason I stopped using it was b/c I found the mice that sometimes get in my house in winter were eating it!!! It is corn after all... Goes to show you how safe it is. Now that I have cats who hunt, though, I plan on switching back :)

This is a good litter, but very pricey. For those with cat rescue organizations, it is just about the same product as chicken feed, layer crumbles (which scoops easily, clumps etc), that you can buy for $7 a 50 lb bag, where Worlds Best is twice that for a 10 lb bag!

Love it! I don't even use a liner anymore since it never sticks to the litterbox.

With three cats, the smell was getting to be unbearable. But then, I found out about World's Best Cat Litter, which fits it perfectly. Recently, we tried something else, but we are going back. There just isn't any better kitty litter on the market.

I am a breeder of ragdoll cats and worlds best is the best litter we have found especially for young kittens. It doses not stick to their paws like some and it is easy to scoop.
