They invented nerdy cool and were one of the essential influences on New Wave. They capitalized on their musical limitations by stripping it down to simple basic elements and making a truly minimalistic DIY experience. While "Freedom of Choice" had the hits, their first album "Q: Are we not men?" was probably more influential on the generation of the time and had some killer songs like Uncontrollable Urge and Mongoloid.

Devo had a great sound and look but it only lasted for one album. Their debut album is really good but after that they sounded repatitious. Like they were trying too hard.

Freedom Of Choice is their best album. One of the best of the 80's.

Not just the best new wave band, but one of the most amazing bands of the 70s and 80s. Period.
