I used to play this game for hours in a row. I always liked it better than Doom. I wish I were playing it right now, in fact.

Okay, when I said that Duke Nukem 3D introduced me to first-person shooters, I lied. This one started it all for me (and a lot of other older gamers). It didn't age well, but at the time it was amazing. I guess you had to be there.

The game that inspired Doom so it wins a star for that but unlike Doom it didn't immerse you, it certainly didn't scare you and most people, like me only got to play it because it came as shareware on the Doom II CD.
