A very passionate reviewer, maybe one of the most passionate. I may not agree with everything he comments on but he certainly seems to back up his views with facts. I have no way of knowing if his facts are correct or not but he seems to think so. I think if you challenge his statements and view points you better be prepared to have your info at hand. A little on the defensive side regarding Canada but not where it's a problem.

Dick and I disagree on a number of political points, but he engages. He's got a little bit of a hair trigger when someone insults him or his Candian heritage, but that's not uncommon here. He sees himself as a solver of problems (commendable), is a bit idealistic (who isn't?), is very bright and a good writer and provides RIA with some very, very entertaining exchanges. And he doesn't seem so bored with RIA anymore.

PBeavr has a pretty good understanding of this guy. On the whole, DickDirk is a decent reviewer who seems like a relatively pleasant person to meet. My main reason for rating him less than a four (which is what I'd probably rate him were it not for what I'm about to state) is because I don't think he understands the definition of debate. By now, I'm sure a few reviewers know that me and Dick have gone back and forth about the American military. All I said was that I didn't appreciate his defamation of U.S troops yet somehow he has managed to make the argument into me attacking the Canadian military! Granted I've made a few jokes about the Canadian military, but no more than the jokes made about the French, Bush or America. In the end, I still think Dick is kind of funny...

I generally find DickDirk's comments amusing. He does have a tendency to be a dick, but at least he warned you with the name.

Dick is enjoyable, in a nasty way. The crudeness can be quite refreshing. When I read his comments I can't help but think of that website where that guy criticizes children's art work, among other things. I know you know what I'm talking about. He would have 5 stars if it wasn't for some dramatic exit I slightly remember. Being that I slightly remember it, I can't give much more detail than he deleted all of his comments because ....blah blah blah...Now he's back. A move too intense for my tastes.

His namesake does describe some of his reviews sometimes. But he drove off AryanDan and other racists so I'll rate him favourably. Shows that he really cares about racial victims.

He either likes you or he doesn't there is no middle ground with DD. We have decided not to argue anymore, this is Good! I enjoy RateItAll, but sometimes people just don't get you, he doesn't understand me and according to him I don't understand him. Life goes on and I wish him the best!!!

DickDirk and I have reached a point of mutual respect for each other. Recent correspondence has proven that a disagreement of opinions does not have to be a disagreeable conversation.

He's got a lot of conviction and that makes for some amusing posts. On the same token, his broad strokes on the U.S. and U.S. politics ramble and get old fast. *Update: Plus, he's kind of a spaz - a spaz that has all the answers.

Between him and JKooks, I am getting quite the laugh! It would seem that they are reaching to conspiracy theories to attempt to explain my behavior. I guess because I'm not normal, I must be devious or really planning something. They seem to think that I can't really like Star Trek, Pokemon, Nintendo, and Chick-Fil-A as much as I do. They think I'm really using those to confuse people. None of that is true. I'm just being myself...is that so odd?

I'm really enjoying reading DickDirk's posts these days. He goes to great lengths to be crystal clear in his arguments and writing style, and he seems to focus more now on the point he is trying to make, as opposed to how that point relates to himself, if that makes any sense. I think he is up there among the best writers on the site.

Dick seems to be a great guy who has a tender heart inside.

Hey, he's back from his little hiatus--welcome back, DickDirk. Your humor is greatly welcomed and appreciated.

DickDirk is unplaceable on the political spectrum and to top it off hes pretty hard to classify as a personality as well. I loved his warzone section and I can respect anyone willing to stand up to the proverbial liberal shredding combine harvester known as President X-D. UPDATE: Apparently he's preparing for some sort of 3rd coming. This should be good.

This stubborn fellow from Canada is deeply missed. I miss reading his witty comments. I do not agree with everything DickDirk writes, but I respect his steadfast conviction and his sometimes brutally honest style. He has held fast to his beliefs despite criticism, and that is an admirable trait. He is always open to debate and is ready to defend his position, and most of the time, he comes out on top. Awesome weblists too!

I decided to change my original rating after reading the one left by ClassicTVFan47. I just don't think that anyone that believes that pokemon is brilliant should be able to criticize the intelligence of another human being.

Seems like a surly bugger, but you always know where he stands. Gotta like that. Nice beer list too.

I see nothing wrong with his love for his own country, in fact I respect it. Canada should be lucky to have such a spokesman if you ask me. Even though I think he needs to take a Prince V every now and then, I do enjoy his reviews, they can be quite uplifting. I think his views on gay people are the general view held by most straight guys, so it is very normal really. He seems to be a pretty cool guy.

Liberal scum, but very entertaining scum. OK, now DickDirk is telling me he's not so liberal, and looking at his stuff he's right. I've raised my ranking of him by a star only because I think his created rating lists are very inventive and very funny. He has SARS, so stay clear of him.

I love this guy! He stands up for what he believes in and even if it means being yelled at, He never backs down.

DickDirk from Canada (great, finally someone from outside the US ;)), was the last one to sign up as member of the esctoday.com forum. Yes, you heard me right. Who would believe a Canadian would show interest in a European song contest? Hehehe. Anyway, he states that he has more in common with my opinions than with hardly anyone else on this site, so how can I NOT give him 5 as mark? :)

Here's the guy everyone seems to love to hate. I can't give him more than 3 stars because I disagree with just about everything he says, but I won't give him less than 3 because he's a good writer with his own ideas and opinions who's always up for a good argument; and I can respect that. During my time on this site I've had a flareup or two with him, but in my opinion they mainly come about simply due to our love of arguing our conflicting ideas.

He's totally un-P.C., isn't afraid to say what's on his mind, doesn't worry about offending people, and doesn't seem to give a crap about what other people think of him. I enjoy reading his posts, even when I disagree.

Just when you think everyone posting is your garden variety liberal or conservative, in walks Dirk a guy who pretty much defies classification. Whatever your opinion, you have to admit that our young radical film student adds some definite color to this site. Always off the wall, usually wacky, Dirk is king of over the top, in your face commentary. Weve had our ups, downs, flame wars, smack-downs and laughs - but I always read his stuff because there is NEVER a dull moment with this guy.
