I recently saw them live at All points west festival in NJ. I would compare their Performance as that of a contempary version of Pink Floyd. The light show and back drops were definately conductive to the mood of the music and very much a darker more agressive throwback to Floyd's performances. Plus the music improvisation really added to the performance. The real icing on the cake for me was the fact maynard and the band didn't focus and lights on themselves so you could only see their sillouettes which really added to the mysteique of the performance.

Tool is unique, complex and live they are awesome. However I feel that they depend too much on Maynard and when he has a off day everyone suffers.

Like their musical influences Pink Floyd and King Crimson, TOOL live is an actual experience. You know a band is tight musically when all four members can create a live performance so great that you would not know the difference btween a live show and one of their CDs. A TOOL concert is also a theatrical show for the human mind. Lots of visual appeal between stage sets, lights, images, videos, stage presence, costumes, make-up, and so on. It's one complete show in a constant flowing movement (a different feeling than just setlist and staged encore). A ticket to one of thier concerts is worth any price.

Great visuals and sound. But sometimes they can be a bit disturbing even for my tastes.

I appreciate music that functions on a more intellectual level. However, I could see how some ignorant trailer trash might give it two stars. Hey Daryl, pass me a Natural Light!

Tool is a medeocre band,at best.They use complex lyrics to sound important,and thier lead singer blows.Good instrumentals though.

An excellent show. Tool is awesome live, and you can expect something new at every show. Also, the visuals are absolutely amazing. Definitely a unique experience.

Tools older stuff was more unique and i found alot better than their new stuff, still good though.
