I live in a split level, so does just about every single person in my area code (not really, but there are A LOT). There are many different types, usually depending on when they were built. Mine was built in the mid 80's, and is very roomy; with a full basement. (that is very unusual because of the sunken living rooms in split levels, but ours was custom built by the original owner) It is a true two story, and not one of those ones with 5 steps from the downstairs to the upstairs. Yet we still have the sunken family room, and also a main level living room. We have a very large kitchen, unlike most of the older split levels from the 60's and 70's. But only 3 bedrooms. Also, these dats are wrong. Most split levels were built in the 70's and 80's. Only the very first ones were built in the 60's

I really like split level homes. four levels and your family has their own space.
