I was at home during the middle of the week one time, and I turned on the TV and started flipping through the channels. I stopped when I got to what was the strangest TV show I'd ever seen. It looked like someone made it while on a bad acid trip or something. Turns out it was Teletubbies. I don't understand how this crap would be educational. A kid who is old enough to watch TV is old enough to watch something worthwhile like Sesame Street.

Doesnt anyone think about this!! They do not talk they only grunt! This really slows a child's language development!!!

its a little strange for me but the kids seem to like it.

Harmless stuff, really. I read an interesting 'behind the scenes' article about the people in those costumes. The takes are very long and the costumes very heavy and hot. When they finally get to pull those heads off, that act is often accompanied by a stream of language, the like of which you have never heard from a teletubby. Would love to see some footage of that..

The show apparently cost $5000 and episode...$4000 of which went towards LSD.

Well, it does keep very young children entertained but as an educational show, it's terrible. Can anyone tell me what they teach?

I have nightmares of this show... please don't let the Teletubbies come and get me! Aaaaaaaaaaargh!

Please, don't even mention that torture chamber of a TV shows name!

If you know a few things about infant and toddler cognitive development, this show makes a lot more sense. You have to remember that the target audience here is 6-36 months old. It's a show for babies and toddlers and they like high pitched voices and bright contrasting colors- that's what encourages neuron growth and brain development in babies. And of course there is no plot- toddlers don't really grasp that concept. Whoever created this show knew exactly what they were doing as it never fails to keep any very small child in rapt attention. I can't stand it- nobody over the age of five really can, but this show is a godsend if I need to get some cleaning done.

I am so glad my kids were too old by the time this awful show came on. Okay i know it is for toddlers and they may love it. it is miserable for an adult to watch. It is really one of the strangest kids show I have seen.
