Not the best song ever, but has a very special place in my heart. My oldest brother used to sing this to me while I was practicing piano. He sang so badly that I couldn't understand a word, but maybe that was how he mocked my piano playing. Many years later, my piano playing has improved much but this song stuck.

Was my highschools graduating class song so brings back memories. Mostly just a very well done song that I never tire of listening to.

Ironic that this tune, which was not composed by Simple Minds, has turned out to be their most successful song. Simple Minds were always U2 wannabees in my book, and this was their strongest offering, catchy and stirring. Like other reviewers, I associate this with The Breakfast Club, which I watched when I was young and innocent. I thought at the time, that's where I want to live: where the weather is nice, you get to drive a cool car, even if you are poor (like Mollie Ringwald), your fellow students have nice teeth and are pimple free, your biggest concern is the prom, and you don't have to cycle to school in a dorky uniform on your no-gears bike in the driving rain. And now here I am.

There is something about that song which reminds me of car mechanics! A good song

This is a really good song, and the fact that when heard it always brings to mind scenes from The Breakfast Club only makes it that much better.

Great song from the 80's. One of my favorites from that decade. Starts out with a cool drum beat and the hey hey hey! Great lyrics too and for those of us who grew up in the 80's we will always think of the great John Hughes film The Breakfast Club.

There's a special place in my heart for this song. A girl I really liked in high school wrote the phrase Don't You Forget About Me in my yearbook the year I graduated, and I always think of that when I hear this song. I never had the nerve to ask her out and now she's married with kids. I'm still not over that one 15 years later.
