I was raised on Lancome and Estee' Lauder....Let me tell you, when I tried the Miracle Set from Mary Kay, I fell in love with it! Mary Kay has been the #1 SKIN CARE LINE for the last 13 years outselling all of the brands!!!! I converted to 100% Mary Kay. Then, when I ran out, I looked up a director in the white pages, met her to get my product and signed up that day.....that was October 17, 2005, and now I am on target to get my first Mary Kay car at the end of March!!!! Don't tell me that Mary Kay is not a good product because it is! Mary Kay has changed my life and my family's lives. Mary Kay Ash is a legend of her own. GOD 1st, FAMILY 2nd and CAREER 3rd!!! In this order---EVERYTHING else falls into place! If I can assist you, please email me...trae1_jsu@yahoo.com

Mary Kay products are changing and developing all the time. If you have had an issue with anything, call the company(if you don't have a consultant, or don't want one anymore) and they will still take it back.... I have used the product for 6 years, and love it even more now that it has changed to the Time Wise formula for both dry/ normal to oily/combination. Every 3 months I get my book, a call to check how I am and If anything interest me. I get promo fliers every other month with a follow up call, and we chat. If "I" want to buy something, I buy it. And my consultant has never pressured me into anything I didn't want.

I have to say that my first experience with Mary Kay products was awful................but 7 years later I tried again and they have reformulated even their most recent line of products TIMEWISE and the line of products work for me. My first try was a old roomates classic facial set that Mary Kay put out and I had the burning and red face reaction to it. One I didn't actually talk with a Mary Kay consultant I tried my roomates since she was thinking of signing-on, she did even though I had a bad experience I must say and is still working her business to this day; Second, you must consult with your consultant if you have any reactions to their products, which I didn't since I really wasn't interested back then; Third, when you stay intouch with a Mary Kay consultant (that really cares about your opinions and your well-being) they will do you justice. My consultant cares about me and makes me feel like a longtime friend not just someone she can bag $$$$ from. You have to go through a process of elimination to see what is going to work for you. You may be able to everything Mary Kay provides, you may not be able to use anything at all or you might be able to use just a few items. I don't feel you give a company your best opinion if you don't really take the time out yourself to research what is offered to you by a consultant by not continuing to talk with your consultant. Give them a chance. If you don't have good working relationship contact the main company and complain............don't just tell a friend or write an opinion on this kind of website before really giving the products a chance. My consultant follows the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you'd have them do to you", and she is genuine and doesn't force anything on me at all. She suggest products to try from her sample collection to try and then give her my honest opinions in a few days, but she never forces me to try anything I don't want to. That's a true Mary Kay consultant that cares not only about your skin, but about you as an individual. You have to understand as well a sample that is given to you is for more than one useage...........if you use the whole package at one time your bound to have a reaction no matter the product............Some people just aren't made to use the procducts at all like I thought I was, but a good friend of mine signed-on within the last 2 years and really worked with me until we corrilated a good skin care regime and I am so happy I tried Mary Kay Cosmetics again. No one can force you to try anything you don't want to. They may track you down in a parking lot, but they are only trying to work a business and you never have to talk to them or take what they offer. Just give them a chance or a second chance. Product formulas change for every skin care company today almost like technology. If you tried the products at one time you must of really wanted to or you wouldn't of talked with the consultant, attended a party, or accepted their product/sample offer. Think about it. The majority of these women are starters and are only doing their jobs. Their not being brainwashed, they are simple learning a trade that maybe very new and different for them. What are you doing to help them out. Maybe it is a lady that has had a bad life before she was introduced to the Mary Kay Cosmetic business. But she took the risk and joined. She felt the procducts looked good on her, worked for her and she just became so excited because her family and friends told her she just seemed so much happier since she joined the Mary Kay team. She opened up new doors for herself and is allowing herself to grow in a new direction that is very foreign to her, but one that is giving her such a better self esteem (at least until she runs into those rude people that put her down for approaching her). Put yourself in her shoes. She started a new life. I love Mary Kay Cosmetics and I am thinking highly about signing-on this week. Just because I gave myself a second chance and gave my friend a chance to work with me on a new skin care regime. You make new friends and do great things that makes you feel great inside. Go out and make the next Mary Kay consultant you meet feel great by giving her a chance and if the products don't work for you please let her know. Thanks a friend of a Mary Kay consultant who is slowly climbing the ladder to success because she wants to not because she is brainwashed.

I am an inactive consultant and despise the company. I signed up and realized what a mistake I made. The company is shady, big time!! As for the skin care, I don't really care for anything but satin hands. I find with the facial stuff, there is so much crap just caked on. Yes, it may feel good but that's it. It leaves all that dead skin on your face and it's disgusting!!

I love the product and have seen great improvements in my skin. My consultant is very nice, not pushy, like these others have encountered. You just have to realized that there are many types of people out in this world, not all are the best at dealing with people. But TimeWise is great. Microdermabrasion makes my skin soft and feeling awesome. The foundation is not oily on my skin compared to other brands.

Mary Kay products burned my face! I literally used Timewise (or Timeline, whatever it's called)once and it was like putting acid on my skin. I've been a skincare junkie since my pre-teen years and have never had such a harsh reaction to a skincare product. Use at your own risk!!! Thank God I have no permanent skin damage as a result. The alleged product was a sample that was basically forced on me by one of the many Mary Kay stalkers on the streets of Chicago. I basically took it so she would just shut up and leave me alone. Side note: Mary Kay Ladies, it is REALLY CREEPY to have a total stranger come up and start going on about what I have on and about how good I look and how you want to meet me for coffee or get my phone number or whatever. Really, this borders on harassment and makes people think all Mary Kay ladies are brainwashed. And in a sense you are since basically you've all bought into a Multi Level Marketing scam. Sad, but true!

Putting the company aside as I hear sooo many bad stories, the products are decent. The lipsticks are long lasting, and the eyeshadows are sheer and more natural looking. However the bronzing stuff and powder can be clogging to the pores and it can cause breakouts if used too often. The powder looks great on my skin and I use it alot. Rich and creamy lipsticks that last and are affordable on ebay. I dont buy from anyone just ebay, that way I dont get pressured into buying crap that I don't need. All in all get some samples or products on ebay and try them. The eyeshadows arent that great but their blush, lipsticks, and powder are worth trying.

I've noticed that alot of estheticians/skin therapists have rated Mary Kay which I find very cool. As an esthetician myself it's great to see that people are speaking out against these products. Clients who use these products always say how nice their skin feels after using the products, however, with ability to actually look at the skin up close we as skin care professionals that the skin is dehydrated, clogged pores, and occasionally irritated. Mary Kay consultants are NOT skin care experts. They are not trained in skin care, they did not dedicate their time and money to educating themselves on the science of skin. How the skin reacts to products, enviroment, time, and hormones all plays apart in treatments and product selection. They are given a book on their products that gives "fluff" descriptions of so called active ingredients, however, there is minimal good ingredients and tons of harsh alkaline(think drying)detergents, oil clogging oils, and tons of perservatives. If you want a REAL skin care consultation find an expert, most of the time a LICENSED skin therapist, who will take the time to explain to you whats really go on with your skin and how to treat it and see real results. Good skin care products will correct problems, maintain optimum health, and prevent future problems. AND REMEMBER TO ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!!

Jeez, I've heard so many ladies rage against it on Rate It All, I'm almost afraid to use it. Actually, I did buy a few products from a co-worker many moons ago, and I thought the products were a little expensive for what was offered. If you want to go to the trouble of ordering your makeup, Avon is probably a better option.

Ok ladies...I am a skin care freak!!! I have used Yon-ka, and other high end products...you could usually find me at the local spa...I started using MK a few years ago, but NOT the skin care. Finally tried the Timewise Eye cream, and LOVED it! It is now my favorite product. But I must say I use the whole line now...exclusively, and LOVE it. I am happy with the price, especially after dumping $175+ for a regimine with other lines, and even with having very sensitive skin, didn't think that I could use it. But I can,I do and I love it. Yes there are the pushy ladies out there, and I can even see where you might think they are "freaky", but alot of these women had NOTHING else when they found MK. And honestly...these women love what they do. They get to spend time with a bunch of girls...and do the things we girls love to do. But the good ones don't have to be pushy...Take the time to find the good ones. If you are making 6figures, you obviously know what you are doing. Anyone can sell something once...these ladies have customers that are also thier friends for life. Yes...I am a Senior Consultant. I have 4 small children and have been at home with them from the begining. I love the ladies I have met through Mk, and no...I don't have a picture of Mary Kay Ash in our home...Don't know any one who does either. Give it a try!

I would like to take a moment and comment about Mary Kay the company and Mary Kay the product. First, Mary Kay the company. I'e have a very diverse work history meaning I've had several very different jobs. One thing in common with all those different jobs was that my income was directly affected by how well someone else judged my work perfomance. My ability to even keep those jobs was also based on how well someone else judged my performance. I am a part-time consultant with Mary Kay and everything from my income to what hours I work and what products I actually carry on my shelf is my decision. I do make money with my Mary Kay business. Have I won the use of a car? No. Am I a Director? No. What I am is very happy with what I do. I absolutely love what Mary Kay the company stands for. Now to Mary Kay the products. What can I say? I love the products! A few years ago I went into a department store and tried on foundation. The clerk asked me nothing about my skin type, nothing about what type of coverage I desired, or even if I wore makeup every day or only on special occasions. She simply rubbed some on my face, said that was the color and sold me the foundation. Well when I got outside and look in my car's rearview mirror, I was not pleased with what I saw. I went back into the store and asked for another foundation color or my money back. I got neither one.

There is no way that Mary Kay is a cult. I am not a rep, but I know quite a few reps who belong to all different religiions and faiths. Some are Catholic, Baptists, Methodists, Church of Christ, Jewish, and many others. What nonsense about the cult. Yes, some reps can be pushy, but many are not that way. I tried this line many years ago, and I did not care for it very much. Recently, I was introduced to the new line of MK, and I am impressed. The Time Wise line works just as well as any other top line products on the market. I find the Microdermabrasion to be just as good as the one I used to use from Dr. Denese on QVC, and the Three In One Cleanser is a wonderful product. I also love the lipglosses, but not too impressed with the lipsticks. Actually, I have never found any lipstick I really like, except for one or two from MAC. I used to buy Clarins eye pencils, but have now found the MK liners are just as good, and the Flawless mascara is just as good as most expensive ones I have used in the past. I now see that most reps have their own websites, and I find the websites to be helpful. As far as the person who mentioned too much adverstising, well, that is wrong. MK has never really advertised at all up until this past month. The first time I saw a MK commercial was during Oprah, and that was about two weeks ago. I think this company is making great strides in improving products, and their image. Also, MK allows you to return items. How many of you return cosmetic items to department stores or online shopping places like QVC? MK makes it easy. You just call your rep for a full refund. Kudos to MK.

I find this site to be very funny. It seems the only people who rate the company over 3 stars are the consultants. When viewing other cosmetics, you have a very fair and honest opion of products and their quality. It's sad that these consultants have to get online and corupt a site that is designed to present unbiased consumer opinions. Shame on You Mary Kay ladies! Now my review of the product isn't much better. I, like aloegirl, am an esthitician. I wouldn't recommend these products to anyone. I can't say for sure that the Cosmetics actually harm people, but I can say that they are loaded with fillers and preservatives which sink in the pores and breakdown the skins collagen over time. So if you do use the cosmetics, don't wear them all day. As for the skin care. There is a very good reason the professional community does not use this product. It's junk. The skin care is just as loaded with fillers as the cosmetics. The Time Wise System claims to be the latest in anti aging, and yet it's a retinol base which is 10 years old in skin care technology (nothing new about that). Not to mention the the fact that the Retinol is in such a miniscule amount, it is not effective in fighting wrinkles. Please not that my review is strictly based on the quality of the product, I don't care about the marketing practices of Mary Kay. I would, however, warn those who do sell or thinking about selling to research your product. You consultants are so busy defending your sales practices, you seem to be missing the point. The product just isn't worth the money spent.

I am a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant in my first year of business. I read some of the opinions on here and just wanted to clarify a few things as some of the comments and opinions seemed a little bit uninformed. Let's think of this from a logical perspective. First off, there is no way Mary Kay could be as successful as it is by selling poor quality products. Mary Kay offers all of its customers a 100% money back guarantee on all of our products so if you purchase something, take it home, and decide you don't like it, you can return it. Mary Kay would not offer this 100% guarantee if they did not know that their product is top notch. Secondly, yes there are many very pushy consultants out there; however, there are more consultants out there who are not out strictly to make money and get a free car. On the topic of the free car...does anyone discredit a company which offers their employees cash bonuses for excellence? No. However, as soon as a Pink Cadillac comes into the picture, suddenly it's not acceptable and everyone who sells Mary Kay is simply in it for the money and a free car. Yes, we do go out to make money to some extent. So does the cashier at the grocery store and the clerk at the mall as well as the teacher in the school and the lawyer in his office. Why is it such a difficult thing to believe that a Mary Kay salesperson is not out to simply earn a few bucks but more importantly, they're out to provide you with a service that you can't get anywhere else. Where else can you have someone come to your house and set you up with a personalized skin care program and if she doesn't find the right product for you the first time, she'll come back and try a different combination until the perfect combo is found? Where else can you have someone come to your house and let you try on their makeup to see what looks best on you? Where else can you have someone follow up after you purchase their product to make sure everything is ok and see that you're satisfied? With respect to the person who thinks that Mary Kay is an advertising monster...I'm not sure where you received your information from but until very recently, Mary Kay did not advertise at all. This past September 2005 is the first time to my knowledge that Mary Kay has ever done any television and magazine advertising. Up until this point it was strictly word of mouth, and with $1.8 billion (US) global wholesale sales in 2003, I can't possibly imagine that these sales were to unsatisfied consumers. We are not a cult mentality. If someone does have a picture of Mary Kay up in their house it is for inspiration. Mary Kay is a debt free company started by one woman to provide an opportunity and a quality product to women worldwide who might otherwise not be able to create a balance between family and home life without comprimising one or the other. If Mary Kay's story isn't an inspiring one, I don't know what is. I do not have a picture of Mary Kay although I do not judge those who do and accuse them of being of a cult mentality. Instead, I have a picture of my 10 month old son smiling down on me, happy that he has his mommy at home raising him. Mary Kay has allowed me to do that. Thank you for your time. I hope this helps to clear up any misconceptions.

I just bought an eyeshadow from Mary Key and spent about $10. This was my first experience with the company and what a mistake, I made!!! Now, that I am trying the eyeshadow at home, I do not like it at all and am thinking of calling them to see if that can be returned, so that I get my money back! It is not worth $10 at all, the quality of this product is BAD. I would not have bought it, if their consultants weren't so pushy. They push you so hard to buy this mediocre stuff and do not leave you any space to breathe. One thing is certain, that I will never ever think of buying a Mary Kay product again.

I am a consultant but I am giving Mary Kay instead of a 5 and I'll tell you why. I agree with some of you. Too many consultants are pushy and rude, and only concerned about money. I have send not so nice emails to my own director. There were times when I felt my director was being inconsiderate of my personal life and how I was too busy too concentrate on my business. Well my recruiter is similar in personality to me but a lot less shy and she told her what's what. I have gone to meetings in my scrubs from work and no one has said a negative word about it. My recruiter wore shorts just this week. The biggest problem with MK is that nothing is done about the consultants that leave a bad impression on people. Call 1-800-MARY KAY and complain. I mean it's worth a shot. I myself haven't held a class since Aug 2004 and I've sold product just fine. I call my customers every so often, I don't use those dumb scrips because I don't want to sound like a stepford-wife It really doesn't need to be a sick and twisted cult that some people turn it into. If you ever want to try the products again or know you like them but don't want to deal with the harassment, say so unfront. Or find someone who will ship if you will wait. Find someone who is out of state, no pressure to hold classes. Place orders before you will need the items and tell them upfront. Please call me for reorders every 3 months no more, or whatever. If they don't listen, tell them not to call you, you will call them. They can still mail you catalogs, samples, etc... I don't know, I just wouldn't give up a product that worked because of a few bad distributors.

I just became a Mary Kay rep last week. The reason why is because I have the opportunity to run the company the way I want it. Yes the directors are pushy. Yes they want you to get folks to become consultants. But I have used the products for over 5 years. The thought of getting 50% finally made sense, so I became a consultant. Now you have to sell around $400 per quarter to get the discount, which I can do. I am learning about what is all in the products. I will run the company my way. You CAN say no to the directors... You can say NO to purchasing inventory, but as Mary Kay would say You can't sell from an empty cart. Who wants to wait two weeks for their makeup? So I just ordered inventory. It has a 90% buyback in case you can't sell you inventory in a year. There was not really much to lose. Plus for the stepford wife comment, I am so not stepford wife. I chew my fingernails, I usually have some sort of baby upchuck on my shoulder at any given time of the day. I can't remember the last time I wore anything better than jeans and a nice shirt. But my skin and my makeup look GREAT because of MK, and I am really going to learn how to be a successful businesswoman through them. I have the upmost respect for Mary Kay. We are all just trying to buy back some time so that we can spend it with our loved ones by getting out of the corporate world. Mary Kay does not fail. The business plan is solid. It is a consumable product. Only the person selling it does. You get what you put in.

Unfortunately there are people that always have to have hate in their hearts. People can be so bitter and so judgmental. I have been a consultant for 3 years, I am a true Christian and believe in what I do. I tried the product years ago and didn't like it. I was asked to try it again and fell in love with it. Why you may ask? The first time the consultant was using the wrong type of skin care on me. This time the consultant took her time and figured out what was best for me. Most consultants will try to sell you the TimeWise. But that is not for everybody's skin, including mines. MK has 3 different skincare lines and one of them will fit your skin type. I use the basic classic set and it works great for me. It's funny that people put this down but for some odd reason a lot of people use proactive. Which has the same ingredients in it. I don't think they are over priced and the product DOES work. If someone's skin was messed up or whatever then, they just didn't have a honest consultant. Yes it is sad to know that there aren't honest consultants out there but that is why it is important for one to discern their spirits. Some people are money hunger, some people are material hunger (car), and some people just really enjoy helping people. I'm not in this to make millions (although it would be nice) but I like what I do. I enjoy being pretty. I'm also a model. It's funny no one is saying that about Bill Gates. His programs are on everyone's computer and they are expensive, basically you can't run a computer without one of his programs. Why can't people just be happy for one another. Yes there is some down falls to the business but every business has them. Yes some people are phony about it but again discernment. I give my customers discounts, free stuff, I don't have parties, I don't have Mary Kay's picture no where in my house, I dont offer this business to anyone, most ask me, and I dont call my customers all the time. I send out a book and some samples. If you like it and want to try or buy it do so. If you dont like it return it 100% satisfaction guarantee. And fortunate for me, I do have a real job, I have my degree in Public Policy, Human Resource, Theatre, getting my masters, and teach high school students. I also plan to become a licensed esthetician. If I want to wear a nice pants suit I will. But because I know a thing about fashion skirt suits do give me power and attention. Come on people which is it first someone is saying it expensive then someone else is saying its cheaply made. Which is it? And for all those consultants that make the rest of us look bad. And do people wrong, remember God don't like ugly. Too bad to those that had bad consultants, you should have had me:-)

I love Mary Kay products. I have used them for 4 years and my skin has never looked better. My Consultant offers personal service so I don't have to go to a store where a salesperson doesn't truly care about my preferences. I love my Mary Kay! For all of you who don't like the products, you must not have had a good experience and that is too bad. There is a reason why MK is the #1 best selling brand in the US for the last 12 years ~ because the products are awesome. It is too bad that people would rather be negative and complainers (most of the posts here) than commend the Mary Kay company on its ethics. They have a 100% lifetime satisfaction guarantee. No one else offers that.

I have been in esthetics for 13 years. 1st as medical esthetician and now I am and Instructor. From a professional stand point, I can not recommend these products to anyone. I have seen client after client in my chair that have damaged skin from these cheap products. They are full of preservatives and fillers that only harm your skin over time. Some ladies even had extreme damage from continuing to use the product even after seeing negative side effects. Appearently their consultants told them to keep using it, your skin will get used to it. I don't believe that Skin care should be sold by anyone with out proper traing. It seems to me the only thing Mary Kay Consultants are trained in is Ruthless Sales tactics. It really bothers me to seel their ads everywhere I look. They may be #1 in marketing or advertising. but their products are the worst in the industry. I guess that's because they spend all their profit on advertising rather than a quality product. I hope that everyone here notices the # of people rating this product and realizes that Mary Katy is at the bottom of the barrel for quality and business practices. Take a look at Aloette the # 1 rated. I recommend them based on the # of people rating it and the fact that nearly all of their ratings were 5 stars, including mine.

I am a former Mary Consultant and I like the products, but the company should go down the drain. What they don't tell you is that only 1 percent make any money. The rest are flooded in debt. Look at this website. www.thecomplaintstation.com. Click on the M and then scroll down to Mary Kay Cosmetics and see for yourself what many women have to say about the Mary Kay Opportunity. The new line of cosmetics aren't too bad actually...and the Time Wise has done wonders for my skin....but unfortunately I felt way to pressured to book parties or buy more... So basically I like the product...but felt the consultants are trained to be too pushy...I hate being bothered all the time about having a party... I even got suckered into signing up once cause well let's face it...I have a hard time saying no to a friend...horrible experience...selling must not be my thing cause I couldn't stand bothering people all the time so I could make a 50% profit...I do believe it's like a cult and a little nutty...I mean come'on in this day and age we aren't allowed to wear nice slacks instead of a skirt?

way too expensive. I did not buy any of the products when I went to one of those dang parties.I guess I did not contribute to someone getting one of those pink cadellacs. Oh well.

Watch Take This Job on A&E, the one about sales reps. Wow, Mary Kay is a sick company. I have a psycho aunt who sells Mary Kay. Folks, this is nothing but a cult and pyramid scheme. Did you know most sales reps put pictures of Mary Kay up in their rooms or houses like she's an idol? The real people that make directors are family and close friends of the Mary Kay inner circle. Basically, everyone not in that circle gets taken for a ride. It's a shame so many of them don't realize they're being taken. Thumbs way down for this awful company.

I think Mary Kay is great, and not all the reps are just after money. Did you ever stop to think, maybe they just like their jobs? It just so happens they make money and that money comes from commission. I think you guys are beng too rough and judging a lot of women.

This is the worst of all. I've tried the high end department stores, the over the counter drug stores and everything in between. First you have to buy from a consultant(she of course is trying to earn a car and therefore has no interest in actually helping you). The products are awful, they either break you out or they smell funky. I think the only reason the price is so low is because they are cheaply made.

Personally I love the product line and it's VERY reasonably priced compared to Department store brands. They have a 100% guarantee, and stand behind their product.

I am an avid Aloette user. I went to a Mary Kay Party as a favor to a friend. I was shocked! Shocked!! SHOCKED!!! The entire time all the woman did was try to get me to sell Mary Kay. She hardly talked about the products at all. I asked her several questions about the skin care (ie. do any contain aloe, or preservatives) and she didn't know the answer to any of them. I have really bad allergies and I can't buy a product from someone how doesn't know their own product. The terrible thing is that she had been a Mary Kay consultant for 26 years. UNBELIEVABLE.

The Mary Kay Full Coverage Beige correcting concealer is absolutely the BEST on the market! Make sure your skin tone matches and that the small tube is a pale pink. The silver tube in beige is too orange.... I think the silver tube is a different line in the Mary Kay cosmetics.

Sad crappy products sold by sadder, money hungry Stepford Wife wanna-be's. Velocity made me break out all over, and after being told I had WON a makeover this bossy, nasty saleswoman did nothing but try to force my friends and I into buying her overpriced crap. Sad ladies, get a real job.

I will never buy anything from this company again. And this decision is not based on quality of product or even the inflated price of that product. It is based on the simple fact that this company lies. Several years ago I attended one of these simpy parties and bought about 5 products (eye shadow, face powder, blush, etc.) and was told that the cases - which you purchase separately - would be a wonderful investment. The rep went on and on about how well made they are, how they are made out of the same durable, nearly indestructible plastic that telephones are made of. Like a sap, I bought her shtick and invested the money. So, what do you suppose happens when it comes time to pop out the old cosmetic and refill my wonderful cases? Of course - I discover that the company had made the brilliant decision to redesign the size and shape of the refills so that they no longer fit in the cases I bought! Consequently, they are now probably sitting in a landfill somewhere as shiny, pink and fresh looking as the day I bought them and likely to remain so indefinitely. Yeah, I probably should have seen it coming but you can be sure I will NEVER fall for it again. No wonder the old bag was so rich.

One, it is overpriced. Two, it has turned two friends of mine into a couple of phonies who care only about getting their former friends to host stupid parties so they can shove their make-up and moisturizers down our throats. Thanks Mary Kay Ash. Thanks for turning my friends into money grubbing make-up snobs who can't take no for an answer.
