jimi hendrix was not just a genuis on playing guitar with so much style,he was also one of the best frontman of rock music.He was the first ever guitar god the world ever saw.
By far no guitarist in this world can ever have skills and technique to play like him.

Jimi Hendrix is a legend! But only because he died, and that is why he is discussed today. If Hendrix did not die, when he did, he would be no more then a very, very little footnote in rock history at best. His contributions to guitar playing is insignificant and his playing was atrocious. I never understood why he is considered one of the best of all-time, I would not even put him in the top fifty players of all-time and it is a joke that he is.

There are arguably better gutarists, but who who was as innovative in his time as Hendrix? And showmanship? Oh my! Burn the guitar, play it with your teeth, upside down, behind your head and people will remember u too.

Sure,by todays standards he would not be as good as some people like Van Halen and such.But you have to understand that he lived in the 60's and was a pioneer for the electric guitar.Just look at all the people that his music has inspired.

Hendrix was an innovator, not a 5-star guitar player. He ranks high because he OD'ed and became an icon.

I don't mean to say the guy wasn't talented or inspirational, because he was both of those. However, he is extremely overrated and there have been a large amount of better guitar players.

Never used to be interested in rock, guitars or Hendrix, 'til my dad made me listen to him. Now, Hendrix is a God to me, his music is just unbelievable and some of the things eh did with the guitar, were just amazing. Thanks to Hendrix, I listen to everything from Hendirx to Placebo and Guns 'n' Roses to Sex Pistols. Hendrix in my book, the greatest guitarist of all known time.

Brilliant and innovative!

He hit quite a few bum notes when I saw him play in 1969, but he was still the guitar god of all time.

You'll note that on the rock musicians list, I only gave Hendrix a four. This is because his songs, many of them, do not happen to be my type of thing. But as far as his guitar abilities go, this man is beyond great. No one has ever been able to duplicate many of his effects, and who else could play the Star-Spangled Banner, upside-down, with their teeth? The guitar on his song One Rainy Wish is just phenomenal. I speak of how amazing Tom Morello is, because of the sounds that he makes, but Hendrix was playing back in the 60s! He just wasn't human!

Undoubtedly the best rock guitarist of all time. The man was years ahead of his time, and most guitarists only dream of being able to do what he was capable of. All Along the Watchtower, VooDoo Child and Red House are but a few of his many truly amazing masterpieces.
