I like John Kerry. I believe he can get our country going back in the right direction. Do I think he will be able to do this overnight? No. There is a lot of damage to repair. I am passionately in favor of him winning. True, he is not a riveting speaker. Neither is he the flip-flopper the Bush campaign deftly portrays him as. I am not so naive as to believe Kerry is perfect. But, like scarletfeather points out, he's no George Bush, which is a damned good thing!

During his tenure as senator, Mr Kerry has done little to alleviate the financial burdens of the American taxpayer. Candidates will say almost anything during a campaign but with Sen Kerry there is a voting record which contradicts his current rhetoric. For example, on the campaign trail, Kerry is for Ethanol. He said I'm for Ethanol and I think it's a very important partial ingredient of the overall mix of alternative and renewable fuels we ought to commit to. (MSNBC / DNC, Democratic Presidential Candidate Debate, Des Moines, IA, 11/24/03) Yet Kerry twice voted against tax breaks for Ethanol. (S. Con. Res. 18, vote # 44, 3/23/93. S. Con. Res. 18, vote # 68, 3/24/93) He also voted twice to increase the liability on Ethanol, making it equal to regular gasoline. (S.517, vote # 87, 4/25/02. S.14, vote # 208, 6/5/03) Sen Kerry has voted against a balanced budget amendment at least 5 times. Other fiscally irresponsible votes include at least 3 key votes against lowering overall spending. (S.J. Res. 225, vote # 45, 3/25/86. S.J. Res. 41, vote # 48, 3/1/94. H.J. Res. 1, vote # 98, 3/2/95. S.J. Res. 1, vote # 24, 3/4/97. H.J. Res. 1, vote # 158, 6/6/96) Sen Kerry voted at least 5 times to raid the Social Security Trust Fund. (H.R. 3128, vote # 379, 12/19/85. H.R. 3545, vote # 419, 12/21/87. H. Con. Res. 268, vote # 167, 6/6/88. H.R. 2264, vote # 247, 8/6/93. H.R. 2014, voye # 211, 7/31/97) Sen Kerry voted against a $1.35 trillion tax cut package to reduce income tax rates, alleviate the marriage penalty, and gradually repeal the estate tax. (H.R. 1836, vote # 165, 5/23/01) When the tax cut passed, he voted to reduce the size of the cut (H. Con. Res. 83, vote # 69, 4/4/01) He voted against reducing federal taxes by $792 billion over 10 years. (S. 1429, vote # 247, 7/30/99) In 1998 he voted against eliminating the marriage penalty relief for married taxpayers with combined income of less than $50,000 per year, saving taxpayers $46 billion over 10 years. (S. 1415, vote # 154, 6/10/98) Most small companies are sole proprietorships or subchapter S corporations so they pay taxes at individual income tax rates. In 2001 Sen Kerry voted against an amendment providing $70 billion for tax credits for small business to purchase health insurance. (H. Con. Res. 83, vote # 83, 4/5/01) He voted at least 5 times against capping punitive damages for small businesses. (H.R. 956, vote # 153, 5/8/95. H.R. 956, vote # 156, 5/9/95. H.R. 956, vote # 44, 3/20/96, S. 648, vote # 184, 7/7/98. S. 648, vote # 188, 7/9/98) No politician is all bad and a few times Sen Kerry has reversed his decisions in favor of the taxpayer. (none of the above) However, the few times that he has voted to lower taxes or give tax credits are far outweighed by his hundreds of other votes which either favored raising taxes or his voting not to cut them. Talk is cheap, but for the American taxpayer a Kerry presidency, according to his voting record, will be very expensive.

A leftist elitist who is out of touch with the people he claims to represent---the average guy. Also, his wife is rich but dimwitted. She cannot even string a cogent sentence together for God's sake. Kerry is such a phony. Mr fli flop sucks. He's against a war he voted for! When you look at him next to his wife you can tell how disingenuous he is, as if he didn't marry her for her billions. She is stumpy mumbly and he is an elitist phony.

The idiot doesnt even have a vice president yet and the voting day is in November he needs to get in the game or there is no way he can win. I am so glad Kerry is runnig against Bush because thats just one more reason why bush is going to win. Oh yea he has an enourmousley big head.

I'm a retiree, living on SS, and fall in the catagory of the American Poor. Every year my SS benefits will go up a few percentage, but prices goes up at a rate of at least 10 to 100 times that of our SS increase. It becomes harder and harder to even stay alive. I feel like our Free Enterprise System has gotten too far out of hand. Products should be priced according to cost of production and distribution, and not on how much a consumer is willing to pay. The system as it stands allows the rich to become richer and richer while forcing the poor to become poorer and poorer. We are now unable to afford a Home to live in, Food to eat, Medical Care, or Transportation, because of the Economy, of which the Republicans say is in good shape. The commercial I Just watched, John Kerry addressed the above issues, and I Commend Him for that. I believe that it's time for Government to take control of our Economy, and allow all Americans to Live with at least moderate dignity. Thanks.

I can't give Kerry anything higher than 2 stars, as he's turning what should be a cakewalk of an election into a real race. If I could lower both my rating for Bush and Kerry, I would, but I can't give Bush 0 or negative stars, so I have to give Kerry at least 2. The best I can say is hopefully with a split congress and white house, the lunatics at the fringes of both parties will end up marginalized. Summary: Bad, but how can you possibly be worse than abysmal?

Open Letter to John Kerry: My wife had surgery earlier this year, recovery is terribly painful. Then, she developed infection, they had to cut the same scar open and operate on her again. Just thinking about the pain and anxiety of facing that painful surgery a second time however pales in comparison to what I am going through right now, in my heart. The old hurts are surfacing and the feelings of betrayal by fellow citizens, and their leader stirring them up, are breaking my heart again. I am being cut in the same scar. How did we who served in Vietnam suddenly become cold-blooded killers, torturers, and rapists, of the ilk of the Nazi SS or the Taliban? Most of us were American soldiers who grew up idolizing John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and all the other heroes. That was why I volunteered. But for political expediency, John Kerry has rewritten history again. After spending only four months in the country of Vietnam, John Kerry testified before Congress in 1971 with these exact words about incidents he supposedly witnessed or heard about from other vets: They personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam. I was a green beret officer who volunteered for duty in Vietnam and fought in the thick of it in 1968 and 1969 on a Special Forces A-team on the Ho Chi Minh Trail, just for starters. We were the elite. We saw the most action. Everybody in the world knows that. But we did not just kill people, we built a church, a school, treated illnesses, passed out soap, food, and clothing, and had fun and loving interaction with the indigenous people of Vietnam, just like our boys did in Normandy, Baghdad, Saigon, and everywhere American soldiers ever served. We all gave away our candy bars and rations to kids. Our hearts to oppressed people all over the globe. My children and grandchildren could read your words, and think those horrendous things about me, Mr. Kerry. You are a bold-faced, unprincipled liar, and a disgrace, and you have dishonored me and all my fellow Vietnam veterans. Sure, there were a couple bad-apples, but I saw none, and I saw it all, and if I did, as an army officer, it was my obligation to stop it, or at the very least report it. Why is there not a single record anywhere of you ever reporting any incidents like this or having the perpetrators arrested? The answer is simple. You are a liar. Your medals and mine are not a free pass for lifetime, Senator Kerry, to bypass character, integrity, and morality. I earn my green beret over and over daily in all aspects of my life. Eight National Guard green berets, and other National Guard soldiers, have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and you totally dishonored their widows and families by lumping National Guard service in with being a draft-dodger, consentious objector, and deserter, just so you can try to sabotage the patriotism of our President who proudly served as an Air National Guard jet pilot. I have a son earning his green beret at Fort Bragg right now, And his wife serves honorably in the Air National Guard, just like President Bush did, and I am as proud of her as I am my son. I volunteered for Vietnam and have no problem whatsoever with President Bush being our Commander-In-Chief. In fact, I am proud of him as our leader. John Kerry, you personally derailed the Vietnam Human rights Bill, HR2883 in 2001, after it had passed the House by a 411 to 1 vote, and thousands of pro-American Montagnard tribespeople in Vietnam died since then who could have been saved, by you. Earlier, as Chair of the Senate Select Committee on MIA/POW Affairs, you personally quashed the efforts of any and all veterans to report sightings of living POW's, when you held those reins in Congress. You have fought tooth and nail to push for the US to normalize relations with Vietnam for years. Why, Mr. Kerry? Simple, your first cousin C. Stewart Forbes, CEO, of Colliers International, recently signed a contract with Hanoi, worth BILLIONS of dollars for Collier's International to become the exclusive real estate representative for the country of Vietnam. Hanoi John, now that it works for you, you beat your chest about your Vietnam service, but to me, you are a phony, opportunistic, hypocrite. You are one of those politicians that is like a fertilizer machine: all that comes out of you is horse manure, and you are spreading it everywhere. Medals do not make a man. Morals do. Don Bendell Canon City, Colorado Note: Don Bendell served as an officer in four Special Forces Groups, is a best-selling author with over 1,500,000 books in print, a 1995 inductee into the International Karate Hall of Fame, and owns karate schools in southern Colorado.

John Kerry keeps talking about how he hates Bush and doesn't like the job Bush is doing. Yet Kerry never says what he would do as president. I'm tired of the attack ads. I want to know where Kerry stands on issues; he keeps waffling and focusing on his hate of Bush. I'd like Kerry a bit better if he talks about his plans for the US rather than saying, Vote for me because I think Bush sucks. And Kerry shouldn't talk about Bush's honesty when Kerry's campaign is taking illegal soft money. John Kerry talks about knowing how the typical middle-class family lives, yet his first wife was worth $300 million, and his current wife owns Heinz ketchup. Although a billionaire, he gives almost no money to charity (a few years ago--1995?--he donated $135 for tne entire year)and once took a Buick from a shady dealer who was in trouble for bribing public officials and racketeering. When questioned about it later, he said that he had simply forgotten to pay for his car and then he wrote a check for it. I could never get the keys to car from a dealer and drive off without paying. You wonder what the dealer got in exchange for the car. He took more lobbyist money that anyone else in the Senate, and in all of his years in the Senate, none of the bills that he sponsored ever was passed. Rich playboy and poor excuse for a politician. He owns five houses worth $33 million--not exactly an advocate for the middle class.

Kerry belongs more in an outhouse than the White House. Let's see. As a senator, Kerry has voted against every piece of legislation for national defense, weapons systems or the military. Sounds like that might leave our country rather unsafe. In college, he also wrote to his local recruitment board seeking permission to spend a further 12 months studying in Paris, after completing his degree course at Yale University in the mid-1960s. Oh, yes. He won't release his medical records for injuries during his Vietnam excapade. Why?

I am really concerned with the quality of the presidental candidates lately. It's either Bush who does nothing but kiss Israels ass, or you have Kerry in which is one of the most liberal candidates. Any normal human being can see that both Bush and Kerry are nothing but political pawns to their affiliate party. It seens to me all that Kerry does is attack Bush, retreat, and attack some more. All he wants is power, not justice.

Everything I've read, seen or heard about this guy so far has made my character judgment meter hit somewhere between goofball and dangerous, indecisive people pleaser. He plays the anti-war, Viet Nam protestor one minute and points to his military record the next. He is now spouting the exact opposite opinions concerning statements he made a dozen or so years ago. Just WHO are you Mr. Kerry? I really had to laugh when he immediately jumped on the band wagon to criticize the first of the Republican campaign ads for using a split second of 911 footage. It doesnt take much imagination to realize that if they hadn't mentioned the attacks at all, Kerry would have been whining that they weren't taking it seriously enough. This guy may have the dubious honor of being even more confused and pointless than Ted Kennedy.

This man is against all that I believe in, he's a liberal, abortionist, scumbag. With lot's of money from his wives and state. He lied about his Vietnam Story (probably shot babies the whole time.) He votes to higher taxes more then any other pres under Bill Clinton of course and is for gay marriage. It's Al Gore, Arnold, and JFK combined with just their bad ideas and plans. He is also against most of the ideas our past presidents came up with including Reagan, Clinton and many more. Plus he uses Botox, thats just stupid. He probably got one too many head wounds in Vietnam, not to mention he wrote an essay in college that said he wants to take all US army and people to attack the U.K. and never gave good reasoning. This is making democrats look bad, of course I don't care, I'm republican cause I actually have plans for the future.

There have been several ideas that Senator Kerry has offered to his masses in recent weeks that just don't sit well with me. His most recent dogbone would be a new entitlement program that offers government funded college educations for those young people who volunteer to help out in their communities and abroad for two years. That's great, but the idea includes pay and expenses, but the details aren't clear because of the election. Does Kerry understand how much money a four year education costs at a big state school these days? Let's see some averages for residents. Tuition $6700, Room and board $6500, Misc.$3900. That's probably more money then the average worker pays in taxes each year, so if you do the math, every dollar of one or more person's taxes each year will go to pay for one student. That's one of the biggest reasons many young people join the military. The only trouble is they have to sign up for four years, not two. I thought Senator Kerry was a supporter of the military. It's probably not his fault that his handlers let him offer the new Peace Corps idea. You see in order to stay out of trouble on the campaign trail you have to be able to think and you have to make sure the people you talk to understand that words really don't have meaning. It's doubtful an idea like this will ever pass. While it sounds (and feels) Utopian, such a place doesn't exist. I wish him luck, but if he wins will there be ketchup served at state dinners?

I think he's a poor choice for the Presidency. He's weak on the issues, and he carries around hypocrisy like heavy airline baggage. He will vote for things when they are popular (the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act) and then deny it the next minute, or give some half-assed excuse why. We don't need a president who withholds the truth from the people and makes up lame excuses. And I'm as anti-Bush as you can get.

Kerry as president is scarier than Gore as president. He doesn't have good looks to fall back on. I guess his only claim to fame is the ability to attract rich women. Is this a quality we want for president? As a middle class taxpayer I have several concerns. I'm not sure how Kerry who lives off rich women can truly understand what it is like to have to work for a living. I'd also like to know how much money was spent removing the fire hydrant in front of his Beacon Hill Mansion. I sure hope the voters wake up.

If I were a GOPer, I'd be worried about this one. Unlike the draftdodging Pretender-In-Chief currently dozing in the Oval Office, Kerry had a bona-fide military career in Viet Nam, and not a well-behind-the-lines stint as a correspondent for The Stars and Stripes. He deftly leveraged this experience with his founding of Viet Nam Veterans Against the War, and the legacy of this will play well with political moderates, those who served, and, of course, the Lefty Element. Handjob's people, the GOP and the drooler faction may try to paint this guy as a liberal from Massachusetts, but such strategy will backfire on those idiots, as usual, when the public takes a look at this guy's record: Kerry's legislative agenda has been progressive, yet moderate, and contrary to what the droolers think, that's the perspective with which most Americans identify. The man exudes such gravitas and confidence, that he might strike one as either dull or arrogant: either/or would be a problem, but to American voters a mixture of the two is just fine. He even looks Presidential and dignified, unlike Handjob, who more than faintly resembles those Flying Monkeys in The Wizard of Oz. Furthermore, the man is lightyears smarter than Handjob and was an able prosecutor, which means he'll tear Daddy's Boy to pieces in debate. In addition, the guy's got tons of $$$ and knows where to get more, so Handjob and his people can do all the fundraising they want and they still won't gain a leg up on this guy. Finally, Kerry appears to be clean as a hound's tooth in terms of his past, so if the GOPers insist on probing around in his past looking for a pair of dirty underpants like they did with Bubba Clinton, they'll be wasting a considerable amount of time and effort. So let them do it, the clods. On the other side, Handjob was given a free pass by the slumbering and cowardly mainstream press during Campaign 2000, and plenty of very suspicious and unsavory aspects of his past were not investigated, thoroughly explained or even broached while that pinhead cakewalked to victory in the election he stole, fair and square, with help from mass voter fraud in the third world country known as Florida where his brother passes gas in the Governor's Office, and with additional assistance by that rightwing, undistinguished and corrupt Supreme Court. In Campaign 2004, it is very likely those unsavory issues will be revisited, and this time it is also very likely that Handjob will have to be a man about it and fess up. It's gonna be great to watch him twisting in the wind with terminal flopsweat as he attempts to explain away his bogus military record, his drunken driving arrest, his cocaine use, his very questionable business dealings as a Texas oilman, etc. Add to that his totally lame handling of the economy since the get-go, his budget-busting/deficit fueling tax policies, his ill-advised military misadventure in Iraq, his lip service initiatives in terms of Homeland Security (what a joke!) and his absolute dearth of action on any other important issue confronting the nation (Social Security, runaway medical/pharmaceutical costs, campaign finance reform, education, national infrastructure, the enviroment, gun control, the list of negligence goes on and on), and Handjob's gonna have his hands full for an incumbent candidate. If his weighted approval rating in the major public opinion polls stands at 56% in August 2003, with absolutely no cogent plan to turn the economy around forthcoming from the Oval Office and no exit strategy in place in regard to Iraq, Handjob better get his resume out to Major League Baseball as a fallback position in 2005 because he's gonna be out of a job.

John Kerry was a strong-willed, independent personality as a child and he is a great presidential candidate now. If you want a politician with real ideas and not just what his aides tell him, vote Kerry in 2004. The reason many Dems criticize the War on Terrorism because it has been used by the Republicans as an excuse to attack Iraq (citing Al-Quada Connections and weapons of mass destruction when there is no intelligence to suggest that whatsoever). In fact, there is now evidence that the Bush administration falsified intelligence and mislead the gullible (and easily branwashed) American people in order to pull the most reprehensible politcial stunt ever (going to war with a 3rd world country over false pretenses). It takes a smart Democrat like John Kerry to realize a War on Terror consisting of brute force alone (without analyzing one's own self) will turn out to be another "War on Drugs".

Can't get a better the good because I'm not very sure of alot of his politics. But he does get that because he's not afraid to stand up to the goon squad that's leading our country right now. Yea, i know conservatives hate him, but that's only mainly due to the fact that he's not a "yes man" to the president. Which SO MANY republicans seem to be. Funny before Bush took office, I was indipendent thinking neither side was any good and both equaly bad. Now It's quite clear that republicans are far worse. Trying to take away freedom of speech. (unless ofcourse that speech only sides with Bush) And being the BIGGEST group of hippocrits I've ever come across. Along with other examples I don't feel like taking the time to post. So to all you conservatives, shut up untill you actually start thinking for yourselves.

Kerry is yet another impediment to the war on terrorism. What the hell is wrong with democrats? Can't they see the big picture? Instead of the same Republican bashing rhetoric, why can't the democrats lay out a framework for how they would make this nation stronger and safer; the reason why, you ask? The answer is they don't have any effective or courageous leadership; they never have, and never will.

Those who question John Kerry's patritism for calling for a regime change in Washington should consider the following: Kerry is a decorated Vietnam Vet. Where was george w while Kerry was getting wounded in combat? Bush went AWOL from the Texas Air National Guard in 1972 to avoid taking a drug test. But now, he has no qualms in sending others to kill and die for his country. We should also ask who reallly "supports our troops." How is george w thanking the past and present American military personnel for their service? In January 16, 2003, the Bush Administration announced it will suspend enrollment in the VA health system for at least 160,000 qualified veterans due to budget constraints. Furthermore, the Administration has proposed cutting ¤15 billion from the veteran programs over the next 10 years. This while proposing tax cuts which provide millionaires a tax break of at least $90,000 per year.

His best work is done beneath the sheets and his best brains are below his waist. No character. No integrity. But he looks at Bill Clinton and hope springs eternal.

The richest senator. 9 out of 10 of the richest senators are Democrats, the one Republican being moderate liberal Lincoln Chafee. Tells you something about the "champions of the little people, eh." The fact of the matter is this guy's brain is skewed to the left that I think he should be considered a marxist.

I think that John Kerry is one of the more interesting candidates in the field for the Democratic nomination for President in 2004. Mr. Kerry is a Senator from Massachusetts who has served his country is a variety of fronts. A scion of a wealthy family, he went to the best schools in his youth. He served with distinction during the Vietnam War as a commander of a gunboat where he saved the lives of his fellow solders, earning him honor back home. His experience in Vietnam lead him to become a founding member of Veterans Against the Vietnam War, an anti-war organization consisting of veterans of the war who influenced public opinion on the matter. Kerry testified to the Senate on the unwinnable nature of the Vietnam War during this period. He went on to practice law and in the 1980's, he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts along with Governor Michael Dukakis, who would go on to run for president in 1988, only to lose to George Bush Sr. by a wide margin. Kerry ran for and won a Senate seat in 1984. In the Senate, Kerry has developed a moderate record. He is strong on national defense and foreign policy, which is important in the current world climate. He supports the war on terrorism and he supports President Bush's resolution on the Iraq situation. On domestic policy, he is a standard liberal Democrat on most issues. I don't agree with a lot of his stances, but I think that his tough and experienced approach to foreign policy may be beneficial to the country. In my view, it would be smart for the Democrats to nominate someone like Kerry because people want to make sure that their leaders are not soft on defense and foreign policy matters. In this regard, Kerry is firmly on the realist camp. The Republicans and Bush will try to tag him a liberal Democrat from Massachusetts, but if Kerry is as politically deft as he appears to be, he will overcome that image. He seems to hold opinions that he genuinely believes, and that's important, but at the same time, he is a pragmatist, and that is also important as well; politics is a fickle profession! I think Kerry's intelligent, experienced, well-spoken, and a good image for the United States to project to the world. He'll get my vote if he distinguishes himself well during the campaign next year, I'm completely open.
