As soon as he gets his story straight, I'll take him seriously. At least Bush has told us what he stands for and hasnt flip-flopped. Plus the communist party doesnt support Bush because they know what he stands for. At least G.W. is willing to fight for what he belives in instead of trying to please everybody with false statements and uncertain terms.

At least he SERVED in Viet Nam,and so has the right to his opinion.I will vote for him because he is against taxpayers FUNDING the loss of jobs through outsourcing, and for his strong Environmental record.I believe Bush led us into an unnecessary War-Iraq was clearly not an Immanent threat, and Bush has devastated our policies for the protection of our Environment;subjecting citizens to more toxins in favor of saving his corporate backers big money betrays his lack of concern for our health, welfare and safety.

John Kerry would weaken our national defense as he has voted to over his 20 year career in the senate. He would raise taxes on people like my father and the other hard workers in this country, limiting both his freedom and weakening our economy. Liberal policies are a proven failure and that's why Kerry has to lie now and pretend he's moderate to try and get elected. What happened to him being a proud liberal?

John Kerry is a good conscientious man and American hero that is is being demonized by the Republicans. If you listen to FoxNews, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, and the other Republican Spin Liars long enough, they will have you convinced he's the demon from hell waiting to destroy America. What they can't stand is the fact that John Kerry was fighting for our country in Vietnam, saving lives, while their own 'Dubya' was playing soldier and wearing his macho leather jacket in the jungles of Alabama and Texas. Bush's campaign should say, Oops, the wrong country was invaded and 1080+ American soldiers killed, 'My Bad', but please vote for me again. 'Dubya' : )

Typical Washington Politician, out of touch with the people. Had an abysmal Senate record, so bad in fact he doesnt even discuss it. Would make a terrible President and would bring us back to the Carter days. Just pathetic that any one would support such a do nothing for President. Though I do love how the Libs get all over the Right about greed and money and here's their candidate worth a cool billion. How much are they paying their help in some lousy third world country to make the ketchup.

I don't think Kerry should be President. I disagree with most of his opinions. Like taking ourselves out of Iraq. That's just being lazy. I mean, there's people out there that need our help but Bush wasn't there to help them. So vote for Bush if you want Iraqis to be free.

republican brainwashing doesnt equate to John Kerry being unfit for active role as president. Yes, both sides bash back and forth. The point is look at the LARGE picture. Look at the last four years and the president's stances on issues. If you do really get a copy of Kerry's voting record (and I have) his stances have been solid and more in line with letting our country progress forward not backward. I guess that if you believe the role of the government is to force a few groups religious beliefs on the entire country and segregate then voting for bush is the right thing to do. I on the other hand believe, and like Kerry, that when you go to church and carry certain beliefs that is good for you but you do not base your laws and bills on your personal religious beliefs. I believe in the United States of America NOT the United States of Christian Science

Three words: Unfit for Command! John Kerry has been given numerous opportunities to define not only himself, but issues regarding the war. He has graciously lived up to his wonderful nickname Flip-Flop and shown he cannot stand behind an issue. Bush does not need to criticize Kerry because Kerry does a good enough job making an ass out of himself as it is.

I'm sure Kerry is a great guy...but he's not cut out to be president of the United States. For one, he's much too indecisive. He'll take a stand on something, and totally change his opinion the next day. He's also very liberal, too liberal for me in fact. They call Nader a super-liberal. Maybe they should check out Kerry then, too. He also totally renounces the war on terror, and is threatening to pull troops from Iraq if elected. This seems like a total display of unfaithfulness in the American forces. He says 1,000 deaths are enough. If he decides to pull troops from Iraq, those 1,000 deaths will be in vain. Oh yeah, and his wife also really annoys me.

I am looking for any reason to vote for Kerry but haven't found a single one, except that he isn't Bush. He seems to be a mean spirited paranoid. What a difference between his speech and Bill Clinton's during the Democratic convention, the difference between a forward looking optimist and a bitter small-minded 'man who'll say anything' politician. Is this really the best the Democrats could produce? I guess I'm voting green this year.

Seems to be falling, and falling fast. Kerry has been a bad candidate in that he has really failed to strongly counter the attacks on him by Republicans. Coming out of the Democratic National Convention, Kerry showed very little improvement in the polls for that reason- he failed to answer the questions that voters wanted answered. His entire platform basically revolves around I'm not Bush, so vote me in. That may be an effective method with his base, but to carry mainstream America, that isn't going to cut it. Kerry had better make a serious comeback between now and the election, or he's finished.

I wouldn't characterize John Kerry's flaws as character flaws I would say he just can't make a decision and remain commited to the decision . I'm not sure how he makes decisions but it seems to me he makes decisions for reasons other than his own convictions. He volunteered to go to Vietnam but then comes home and testifies against his fellow servicemen, he votes for Presidential authority for Iraq but then votes against financial support when needing an edge against then opponent John Edwards, now I am hearing it was his decision not to attack or use negative campaign tactics but now he is angry with his team and bringing in new talent because he doesn't like the way things are going. Most curious to me is his decision to focus on his 4 months in Vietnam for his convention but now screams foul when his opponents respond. This is a concern to me but even more than this, I wouyld just like to hear some specifics from him. He really good at saying he would do it diffently or (he) has a plan but so far I've not heard the specifcs of any plan or the specifics of how.

John stop being such a wuss and fight back. The Swift Boats are not working because America believes them, they're working because you are allowing them and the right wing to push you around. John you are a tough as nails Senator and a tough as nails prosecutor. I think you should be commended for speaking out against our country, letting us know all wasn't right in Viet Nam, just as much as you should be commended for defending our nation. Some people won't understand you, they call you a flip flop, especially on the 87 billion, do they know that you were down for it first, you wanted to give the troops what they needed, but not down for granting money to two nations and not getting a dime back in return, you wanted as a loan, but Dubya said he would veto that measure, so in the end you voted against it. Stand up Kerry, we got your back. Sit around and let them keep bullying you around than your just as good as finished.

Anyone But Bush! I say that, but, at the same time, I supported Kerry from the beginning because he is a better candidate than Dean, Edwards, etc. Kerry is a proud serviceman. He's got strong liberal values (like care for the environment and GLBT rights), but at the same time he comes off as a moderate. And one last thing. Kerry does NOT want to raise taxes. He wants to roll back tax cuts for those making $200,000 a year or more, and will then use that money to increase education and health care spending. So in other words, the poor are going to be better off under Kerry, and he'll be able to ease the middle class squeeze. I love ketchup! Go Kerry!

Mr. Kerry's platform seems to be anyone but Bush... and if that's all he has to offer the American electorate, then fortunately, that will not get him elected. As I observe him, he seems to lack the necessary convictions to make a good president...he seems to be afraid to make a stand...and panders to his audience...especially the anti-war liberal elite supporters...he is scared **** that they will bolt to Nader or just stay at home on election day...he continues to change his positions on Iraq and what bothers me the most, he hides from his Senate record...it's a matter of public record anyway...so what's the big deal? I would have somewhat more respect for him if he stood by his votes and explained why he voted the way he did. It's embarrasing enough as a New Englander to have him representing our region in the Senate...I can only imagine what a Kerry presidency would be like...hmmm...Ted Kennedy as National Security Advisor...could you hear it now...Mr. President...we can't do that until we check with Paris and Berlin first... and Michael Moore as Secretary of State...hmmm...he would be a perfect choice to show a more sensitive side to those terrorist thugs...and Nancy Pelosi as Defense Secretary...and I am sure he can find a place to put Hillary Clinton, Al Sharpton etc...

90% of the individuals that have posted a comment on this page are ignorant of the entire subject. If you want to post an educated comment learn something about the candidates. Don't just look at one of them either. Go into depth looking at both sides (Dem & Rep). Then choose the lesser of two evils. Bush is the lesser of two evils.

I'm not as enthusiastic about him as I was Edwards, but I think he'd make a good president. At least he has a sense of duty; while Dubya was on a bender somewhere in Alabama Kerry was fighting for his country. Everyone ought to read the Atlantic Monthly article on his service. He emerges as a very decent person trying his best to deal with a horrible situation.

John Kerry can offer leadership at a time when really need it (in part to clean up the mess Bush has made). He should also be able to restore honesty to the White House. And Republicans who think he is weak on national security and fighting terrorism should have watched his Democratic National Convention speech. At least visit http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/national_security/. The reason why Bush supporters are constantly criticizing Kerry is because they have nothing to brag about. Really. Think about it. Has Bush done anything that warrants reelection? Also, keep in mind that John F. Kennedy didn't really have a distinguished Senate record. Just because Kerry doesn't doesn't mean he will be a bad president. At least he went to Vietnam to fight for his country while Bush took the easy way out, taking advantage of his father's wealth and power to stay home and do nothing.

I'm not allowed to vote because I'm under age, but with all the publicity and information that we get on the candidates, I'd rather go with George W. Bush. i was listening on the radio and they were talking about John Kerry and this guy sent in this letter and he was talking about how he carted Mr. Kerry around and how much of an overbearing arrogant man. i wouldn't really like our country to be ran by this man who doesn't seem like he cares about us but that the US hails him as a great war hero for winning 3 purple hearts. Wow, 3 other normal people have probably got more than 3, and that person/persons are less obsessed with it. Well it's America's choice but in my opinion, I would never vote for john Kerry.

The man is an opportunist. He is less interested in what's good for this country than in gaining power and money. If he was concerned about America he would have actually been present for senate votes on behalf of the citizens he is supposed to be representing. He has yet to put forth even one concrete plan for anything but the man is hell on wheels with platitudes and buzz words. Unfortunately buzz words - even those muttered in French - are not the mark of a leader.

Whether or not one agrees with the current action in Iraq, the extremists have taken on a new boldness which makes it imperative that the United States be ready to deal with any and all adversaries which pose a threat currently and in the future. In that regard Americans should be concerned with Sen Kerry's voting record which has shown a pattern of defunding military and intelligence development. In 1992 he voted to cut $6 billion from defense. (S. Con. Res. 106, vote # 73) In 1993 he voted against increased defense spending for military pay and voted to kill any increases over the next 5 years. (S. Con. Res. 18, vote # 73) In 1995 he proposed a bill cutting $1.5 billion from the intelligence budget. (S.1290, introduced 9/29/95) That same year he voted to slash FBI funding by $80 million.(H.R. 2076, vote # 480) In 1996 he introduced a bill to slash Defense Department funding by $6.5 billion.(S. 1580, introduced 2/29/96) He has voted repeatedly to cut or eliminate funding for the B-2 Stealth bomber.(H.R. 3072, vote # 203, S. 2884, vote # 208, S. 1507, vote # 174, and others too lengthy to list here) He has voted repeatedly against missile defense. (H.R. 2521, vote # 207, S. 1087, vote # 384, 8/10/95, S. 1745, vote # 160, 6/19/96, S. 2549, vote # 178, 7/13/00, and others. His voting record can be found in the Congressional Quarterly for those who wish to examine it in greater detail.) Whether we take the defense of America to the aggresors on their soil or we are forced to take action here at home, we must be prepared for any and all hostilities. Defunding and cutting of defense and intelligence operations will leave us vulnerable, as evidenced by past attacks. The aggresors look for any opportunity to damage America and weakening our military and intelligence departments is an open door for another September 11 or possibly worse. About 2000 years ago someone said that only the dead will see an end to war. While we as Americans would seek to promote peace in the world (and we do that with humanitarian and financial assistance) we must be prepared for any eventuality. Maintaining peace means maintaining strength. Sen Kerry, as indicated by his voting record, does not share that point of view.

The U.S. needs Kerry in 2004. The biggest complaints from the right about values and taxes. Here's the facts on Bush: (values): used cocaine, womanized before getting married, got arrested for d.u.i., got strings pulled so he didn't have to fight in vietnam, lied to the american people about a reason to go to war in iraq, was a cutthroat during his daddy's campaign, uses taxpayer money to fund halliburton/lockheed martin/boeing profits... (taxes): most of his tax cuts go to the wealthy: fact! there is a form for the wealthiest tax refunders where they must state how they would like to receive their 1million+ tax refunds. this, while driving defecits to records unseen of in reagan years. tell me, if you like your 600-1000 tax refunds, how will you pay for dubya's defecits? it's like maxing out your credit card and they give you a check in the mail for a couple bucks. think.

I can't really say that he deserves more than a middle star. Most politicians are made to lie and say whatever they need to say to get the points until they are/are not elected. However, this being said, he definitely is several marks ahead of Bush in the IQ department, and I distrust our current president so greatly I'd be more than happy to gratify Kerry and vote his way.

One FACT is clear. I doubt if anyone could SCREW UP a country worse then bushwa. His old man was a LOSER 'L' and he follows in those same footsteps. History repeats again! All bush's should be BANNED from public office, as they are all corrupt to the core! Read the bush family history and see for yourself! I mean really read it if you can stomach the truth GOP's! I like my kids alive and well and not being wasted on a dumbass country like IRAQ that could care less about us anyway. bushwa's self-proclaimed WAR was non-supported by the majority, service people included. Ask them, really ask them if they are really feeling love for bushwa? You won't like what you hear back as I have. I have and let me tell you, as an ex-VIETNAM era VET there is no love for bushwa's SCREWUPS!! PERIOD! I guess that's why over 50% of the registered GOP's in CALIFORNIA voted for CLINTON and gave daddy bush the boot! Think about that one. Can't wait to see it happen again to jr screwup!! bushwa BOUGHT the last election, but with KERRY's matched millions I'll guarantee you this much, it won't happen again if money talks these days like it does. So let the richest and best man win I say. VOTE KERRY for a better led AMERICA!! Pack that in your pipe and smoke it!!
