Easily one of the most influential figures in world history. Muhammad's religious and political movement was revolutionary in many respects. Unlike other religious leaders like Christ or Buddha, Muhammad had worldly ambitions and sought to unify the Arabian tribes into one nation, unified by laws and social customs. He tied a religious movement to a military movement. Disparate tribes with antiquated political structures were replaced with a more conventional command-control structure. That allowed for Islam's rapid expansion during the 6th Century, first through the Levant and Central Asia then through North Africa and eventually Spain. Once control was established in newly conquered territories, they went on to establish legal and social reforms.

Arabia in Muhammad's time was becoming extremely overpopulated, especially given the limited resources available in the desert environment. Muhammad believed that in order to relive some of these social pressures, it would be necessary to expand their sphere of influence into greener pastures. He was overwhelmingly successful because he was able to unify the tribes against the old elite structure, then he was able to take it up to a second step by expanding his movement's territorial reach.

No one can doubt that Muhammad had a very profound impact on the course of world history.

1.After being a King,Military Chief,legislature,Chief Justice of his kingdom not because of Dictatorship but of Influence.No human till now haven't lived in poverty who possess any one of the position.The reason is he declared the property that belongs to kingdom is prohibited not only to him but for this generation.I dont think any one would have lived as simple life as this man after conquering every richness yet not enjoying it.by the way he was not poor untill he started preaching Islam he was one of the rich people in the city.

2.He completed the religion(Submission to God) but in the case of Christianity it is yet to be completed (New testament,old testament Etc...)I dont blame Esa(Jesus)

3.He abolished inequalities(Rasicm) in Society and treated everybody equally.

4.No king openly declared rule favouring women untill that time,not even Queens of British Empire

I can go on and on about this man.To me he is one of the role model in my life.

The most important man in history, and the most intelligent man too! Received knowledge from God throough the angel Gabriel and made many prophecies about the future, most of which already happended. He knew alot about human nature too, and was humble and generous too. He taught people Islam, God's final and perfect religion.

People who don’t read, write and do research would probably argue his ability and would deny the fact that he is the saviour of human mankind. He is the last prophet of ALLAH, also active as a diplomat, merchant, philosopher, orator, legislator, reformer, and military leader. I swear to Allah, I love him at the bottom of my heart.

Has influenced more killings and destruction of property and antiquities than any other human being in history and is still influencing people to kill and destroy for him today. Has influenced more despots and dictators in more countries and his legacy of totalitarian dictatorship continues as most Muslim countries are ruled by dictators to this day. If his followers could have conquered Europe, democracy could have been wipe out for all time. His legacy of intolerance, taxation of non-Muslims and religious genocide have made an almost completely homogeneous Muslim landscape out of the Middle East. His influence in the slavery arena insured that slavery in Muslim countries lasted long after it was abolished in all other countries. (Saudi Arabia still has not signed the anti-slavery agreement.) His disdain for women and his reputation as a womanizer is legendary and has inspired Muslim men to control women with an iron fist. The only other impediment to women's rights that even comes close is Christianity and it is a distant second. His influence reduced the greatest civilization known to man Egypt, to third world status from which it has never fully recovered. His followers are making great strides in undermining the authority of the secular countries that host them with their demands for Sharia law. Yes, I would say that he was very influential.

read his biography. even as a nonmuslim, any sincerity would leave one no choice but to understand that this man was the greatest to walk the earth. (of course jesus was too). but the only reason this fact is disregarded is due to lack of knowledge, and/or lack of sincerity; everyone just wants to stand up for their own people.

MOHAMMED (pbuh) in every single day for 1430 years is the most remembered , most mentioned and influential person in the history of mankind because every single day , 5 times a day for 1430 years is remembered and mentioned by his followers who number billions of men, women , old and young converge and pray according the teachings of MOHAMMED , these billions of people mention regularly every single day the name MOHAMMED and ask GOD/ALLAH for forgiveness and blessings upon him , there is no other human being like him and there is no competitor who receives this honor on a regular basis every single day 5 times a day.

Muhammad created a new community of people and united humanity without giving preference any particular group of people. For eg: Being Arab or Non-Arab is not of much signifance as much as being a muslim is and the same applys for being a black or white coloured person. After Muhammad his followers launched an empire which united humanity and allowed cultures to move about freely.

I'm not going to sit here and argue too much about whether his influence has been positive, negative, or somewhere in between, but it's hard to argue that he wasn't influential, even if he was misguided.

Muhammad (PBUH) is no doubt the greatest ever person to ever set foot on this earth. Allah the Almighty says in the Holy Quran that he has sent Muhammad (PBUH) as a mercy to the whole of Mankind. Jesus Christ (PBUH)during his second coming will also follow on the footsteps of Muhammad (PBUH). No one in the world has been successful in all the facets of life as has been Muhammad (PBUH). The reason for this is Allah the Almighty wanted to show mankind a role model whom the world should follow.

Positive or negative, he founded the fastest growing religion at the present moment. There is no region which has not felt some impact from Islam, and in fact it is arguably the dominant factor in international military politics.

I'll give him 3 stars. Because in my opinion he is the 4th most influetional person in the history of the world. After Jesus, Abraham and the historical Buddha (Sidhartha Guatama ). Still, given that he is number 4 out of billions...pretty impressive. I've based this not  necessarily on followers, otherwise he'd be number 2, but on secular and political considerations as well.

Formulated a religion every bit as complex, benign, malevolent, and misinterpreted as Christianity. And by the way, when the barbarian hordes swept over Europe, and the lights went out after Rome fell, the light of knowledge kept burning in two places in the West. In the dank monastaries of Ireland and in the mosques and libraries of Islam. Most of what you are today, most of what you know of history, and most of what evolved into the society you are a part of, was preserved by those two groups.
