A blast! Some idiot would always try to cross the middle of the hill while people were racing down, they'd get flipped on their head.

Immense fun, either the classic sled or the more common toboggan. I live in an region that doesn't get a lot of snow, but spending time with my kids on these is one of the best memories of being a parent.

Great listing. Wonderful memories. Loses one star for "Ethan Frome". . .

Loved my "Flexible Flyer"! Remember rubbing the blades with a candle to make it go faster? I bought an old one last year and fixed it up for my Niece and Nephew. At first, they were like,"We already have a plastic sled" but when they found out you can steer the old ones they were all in!

we had this great old sled that my uncles used to pull me around on in the snow. as i got older we used a variety of things in place of the sled. we used garbage can lids, garbage bags, etc...sometimes we just went for it and went down on our behinds.

I live in Arkansas, so it was never really cold enough to use one of these. We never got more than 8 inches of snow, and even then, it wansn't good for playing in. Looks like fun, though.

What little chance I had to go sledding was great fun. I had a round silver one - like the one Chevy Chase had in Christmas Vacation. Thank God we didn't have that food additive stuff he sprayed on it or there would have been kids scattered all over the highway!
