What a waste of time. Both parties should realize they are being used and manipulated by their leader. What do these wonderful leaders ever accomplish except to raise huge amounts of money and take as much with them when they retire? Not to mention all the future lobbying and speechmaking they recieve huge sums of money for. Wake up people! We are being hosed by both parties. Be skeptical my friends. When Harry Truman retired as President it was considered unseemly to profit from public service. He didn't even get a pension other than his WWI military service. He just went home and lived like a normal person. My nominee for the "last honest US President".

I'll make it clear, just because you're a Conservative doesn't mean I automatically like you. I know some real assholes who are conservative.
Vudija 08/14/2006
Everyone has a difference of opinion. I'm not about to go out and claim I hate anyone who has an opposing idea. I would hope that I wouldn't be hated solely based on any political opinions I might have either.
ProgrammerRing o 01/13/2006
I agree with Underspin. I don't hate conservatives at all. They have a right to express an opinion contrary to my own. It would be wrong to "hate" someone on the basis of their political leanings.
Underspin 04/01/2005
For what? For holding an opinion sometimes contrary to my own? It's one's democratic right, for crying out loud.
CanadaSucks 04/01/2005
Hating conservatives is wrong. . .they believe in what's best for America. Their philosophies concerning fiscal and educational issues are solid. But they don't help themselves by being hypocritical. You can't claim to be for less government if you want to control women's bodies. You can't claim to be for personal liberties while voting for the Patriot Act (A shameful disgrace to Constitutional law.) You can't be pro-life and look the other way to over 9 thousand death of civilians in Iraq. You cant' be for 'family values' for some people and not for others. You cannot be for church-and-state separation while silently endorsing the opposite through legistlation or slack enforcement. You cannot champion fiscal responsibility and rack up a record deficit. Pick an ideology that doesn't present the pretense of liberty and freedom. Liberals have allies (intellectual and philosophical) outside of America. Conservatives live in their own little America. Hey kids, can you feel the world shrinking?

I'm a real liberal, but I don't hate conservatives. My parents are conservatives. They admired Goldwater, Reagan, Buckley, Bush, George Will and all those clowns. What I hate about conservatives is their IDEAS and politics. No matter how much conservatives have accomplished (if they had), that doesn't mean I hate them just because I disagree with their mistaken ways.

Conservatives are paranoid...fearful..embracing it is a sign of emotional weaknes...ouch! A little harsh, don't you think? Especially coming from someone who seems to love progress so much which would equate to overcoming childish name calling. But I digress...Conservatism is, simply put, a term used to describe a political belief system that supports traditional family values that work and help maintain order in a sometimes chaotic society. Furthermore, just because a certain group of people have a different definiton of what progress is doesn't mean they oppose change. Look at Ronald Reagan, for instance. By most standards he was a conservative and most, putting partisan hackery aside, would agree that he helped end communism...a positive CHANGE from a positive CONSERVATIVE. There are plenty of other examples, just look in a history book...
SomCynic 02/19/2005
Conservatism is a paranoid, fearful personal philosophy and embracing it is a sign of emotional weakness. By its very definition, conservatism is opposed to progress. Conservatives believe we ought to conserve existing institutions and social norms, speaking from a positions which is always on the verge of being led astray, and reflecting with an imperfect memory on the topics of fictional Greatest Generations and Golden Ages. Nothing that sets itself against progress can claim to be on the side of good. Accordingly, damn conservatives, however nice they might otherwise be, for turning their energies against a better world because they cannot master their fear.
James76255 02/14/2005
Nope, don't hate Conservatives. Even the far right or religious right, who I don't always agree with, at least make it clear what they are basing their opinion on.
CastleBee 02/07/2005
Conservatives can be as exasperating as libs in their own way. As I said in an earlier post about liberals; I feel that the farther you stray on either side the less you are capable of good judgment. The farther right the more stodgy and unwilling to change someone becomes. Change IS sometimes necessary. What I hate about conservatism is the attitude and assumption that that there is never a need to challenge the status quo. The illogical idea that we are right because we have always been right. Unless you can claim some kind of divinity, then I say climb down from your lofty peak and listen to an opposing opinion with an open mind for a change. We know that when it comes to food and drink moderation makes sense. I think this can also be applied successfully to politics.
TeachMeLove 12/24/2004
Most conservatives I've met are awesome people. The few that aren't generally show little respect for others. I don't care if my neighbor is conservative or liberal, just as long as we can all have basic respect for our own differences.
jeffytime 06/05/2004
WOW Chauncey/other conservative haters of this page... And I thought liberals were supposed to be tolerant of other people's values and ideas. Liberal bigots.

i strongly dislike,(i wont say hate because i feel bad for conservaives)conseratives because of their general outlook and treatment of middle class americans. Now when i state my opinion i mean i dislike the them in GENERAL and its nothing personal. but how can you like them when the new governor of massachusetts steps in and takes a chunk out of the education funding and one of my own siblings has to transfer colleges becuase the teachers scholarship is voided in mass. she went from a $28,000 school to a local umass.just one example.oh wait heres another, Bush comes in office and the debt in which clinton took america out (tillions of dollars)is thrown rite back into play. now were in debt because some moron thinks iraq has WMDs which we havent found. they may exist but is it worth the body count of dead american soldiers in iraq who havent been home for thanksgiving or christmas.yeah...i guess you could say i love conservatives.

Conservatives are taking over America, and they have transformed it into a corporate nation, who's government's first interest is not to serve the general public but to satisfy billionaires and the owners of huge conglomerates interested only in making money. Conservatives are transforming America into a corporate dictatorship.
scarletfeather 12/02/2003
I don't hate conservatives. I have family and friends who are conservative and I certainly don't hate them. However, it is hard to like many of the vicious, mudlslinging, conservatives found in the public arena.
andyjay 10/08/2003
I don't hate conservatives per se; I just think they're wrong. What I hate are shrill, venomous mudslingers like Ann Coulter and Michael Moore.
LadyShark4534 09/24/2003
I'm not going to hate someone because they are the political opposite of me. That would be the most stupid thing to do.
twinmom101 09/19/2003
Thank you Andrew Scott, AKA Truth seeker!! I'm a bit oppossed to this list as I really don't like to promote hate towards anyone and we see enough of it on this website. A lot of people would think that I hate conservatives, especially George Bush. I don't have time in my short life to hate. Hate creates negative energy and does more harm to the hater in the long run. Do I like what many conservatives do? No and although I don't hate Bush, he has lost my respect because he has shown that he does not respect things that I hold dear in my values. That said, there are many conservatives that I do like. I voted for Chuck Grassley, a well-known Republican years ago because I respect him and his sense of fiscal responsibility. I get so sad when I see people like Ann Coulter and Michael Moore trying to divide this country and create bad feelings between Democrats and Republicans. We are all Americans and we all have different views about how our country should govern itself. Conservatives have some good points and so do liberals. If we could all just stop labeling each other (Consevatives HATE the environment...Liberals HATE religion) and find some common ground to work towards making our country the best we could be, our country would be in a lot better shape!

I feel no hate for anybody in my life. And I certainly don't hate any large classes of people (not counting certain fringe groups that define themselves by being nasty to the world). Still many of us, perhaps feeling our lifestyles are threatened, come to mistakenly conclude that all conservatives or liberals are uniformly hateful and worthy of hate. These feelings tend to be based on reactions against the most extreme or most seemingly powerful members of that group. Our generalizations may not correspond with our typical personal experiences. Chances are most of us associate with many folks of a different political persuasion and like them as people. Do we really stop liking friends because we discover that they vote differently? That is rare. So why is it so easy to make the mistake of painting large groups of fellow Americans with the same broad brush as we watch the evening news? It may be easier to make sense of the world by stereotyping, but this may mean missing the tremendous individuality and good that is present in all kinds of populations. People are people. Sure, it can definitely be fair to criticize an individual's behavior, but why keep going and promote sweeping negative stereotypes?
TheFreak 09/18/2003
I don't hate them any more than i hate the average person. It's hysterical, shrill, bigoted psychos like Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, O'Reilly, Cal Thomas and their fan clubs who bother me. Some conservatives, like George will, are extremely intelligent, and others are very nice people. The group as a whole tends to annoy me, but I can't blame them all for Falwell and Robertson.
hendo 09/18/2003
Some conservatives are good. But I can't stand the conservatives who cry victim all the time, whine about the liberal media (huh?), and are obsessed with Clinton (geez, you'd think he was still in office or something). It's not the fault of liberals that you guys control the Presidency, Congress, the Senate, all the money and corporations and still can't get every single thing that you want. Most people in this country are in the middle, so get used to compromising and stop whining. And I thought liberals were supposed to be the whiny ones.
Jaws 09/18/2003
How'd you expect me to rate this? Conservatives are good. We have a broad perspective on reality. We try to solve problems without creating more. No, I don't hate these guys in case you are wondering.
