The DUI & DWAI Education and Therapy programs at Excel Treatment most certainly kept me out of jail! I started the Education classes before I even made my first appearance in court. It about a week after I was arrested for driving with a .17 blood alcohol level (BAC). It was well above the legal limit. By the time I was sentenced, about four months after the arrest, I had already finished the Education portion of the program and had begun the Therapy. I had also enrolled in random sobriety tests. The Judge and prosecution saw that I was making a concerted effort to avoid ever making same senseless mistake again, and gave me a much lighter sentence than even my attorney expected (NO JAIL).As for the meetings, I actually enjoyed the majority of them. They were laid-back and I never felt threatened or degraded because of my actions. They were both educational and therapeutic, but not in the traditional sense. I felt that after truly understanding how alcohol and other drugs effect ones judgment (not only while driving), I felt much more empowered. If you are unfortunate enough to have to go through this process. I strongly recommend the DUI & DWAI program offered at Excel Treatment.

Excel Treatment offers medical detoxification as well as court ordered DUI / DWAI Education and Therapy groups.Excel Treatment Program offers a comprehensive diagnostic drug and alcohol treatment clinic that's dedicated to the growing population of this devastating disease. We implement the most effective state of the art technology in the treatment of this disease. Excel Treatment is one out of only five clinics in the United States that implements the treatment in genetic and environmental addictions. Excel utilizes diagnostic gene testing when needed to test for alcohol genetic predispositions. We are fortunate this treatment is offered in the state of Colorado. Excel is changing and repairing the biochemistry of the brain by understanding the genetic DNA that at birth contains the gene of addiction. We are finally beating the war on addiction.Excel provides comprehensive treatment covering the full spectrum of recovery. Excel offers amino acid intravenous treatment for the repair of genetic addiction, clinical acupuncture for environmental addictions, group alcohol and drug education classes, group alcohol and therapy classes, individual therapy, relapse prevention groups, monitored U.A.'s, antabuse and naltrexone distribution for court sanctioned alcohol treatment, and we also provide in-house prescriptions including liver blood profile workups.

When I began this program, I was somewhat skeptical about how effective the IVs would be. I had never heard about Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS) or the TGGRS treatment, but when they were explained to me they both made perfect sense. According to the literature both supplied to me by program director Tamea Sisco, and that which I found on my own, Reward Deficiency Syndrome is described as, "The association between certain genes and various behavioral disorders. In molecular genetics, an association refers to a statistically significant incidence of a genetic variant (an allele) among genetically unrelated individuals with a particular disease or condition, compared to a control population. In the course of our work we discovered that the genetic anomaly previously found to be associated with alcoholism is also found with increased frequency among people with other addictive, compulsive or impulsive disorders. The list is long and remarkable-it comprises alcoholism, substance abuse, smoking, compulsive overeating and obesity, attention-deficit disorder, Tourette's syndrome and pathological gambling." I had known that my problem was more then just psychological, and I had heard that there was a biological basis of addiction, but no one had ever offered me a way to address this. Before I began the Excel Treatment program, they explained that the amino acids used in the TGGRS treatment (the IV portion of the program) would help to repair the physical damage that caused my cravings. And IT WORKED! My cravings are gone for the first time that I can remember. This is huge for me. I had been clean for months at a time before, but I always thought about getting high. It's been almost seven months now without cravings and the things that I used to think gave me pleasure during my addiction are just an after-thought. I am a huge fan of Tamea Sisco and Excel Treatment and the TGGRS IV's. If you have an issue with substance abuse I highly recommend this program. It really does make sense. And it really does work.

Before coming to Excel I spent my life living in relapse, every day I told myself I was going to stop drinking. The IV program cleared my body and mind of the toxins so I could work on the psychological reasons of why I was using alcohol. This program and all its members, especially those who participate in the group therapy, have shone me that I am not alone and there is no reason to be ashaimed. The group members and counsolers have been the foundation of my sobriety and recovery. This is the first program I have been involved in that I have not been belittled, criticized or looked down upon. This program is designed to BUILD YOU UP, not tear you down.

Over one year ago I wrote a review about my experience with Tamea Sisco and Excel Treatment. At that time, I had made an appointment by telephone late on a Friday afternoon for my son to fly to Colorado to receive treatment for his drug addiction on Monday morning. Two of my credit cards were immediately charged a total of $11,600.00. The following morning (Saturday) I had a change of heart: I found out about Sisco's license revocation, I read negative reviews on the internet about her, and the fact that there had been previous raids, etc. Because of my son's fragile condition, and the many negative complaints about Sisco, I called Sisco to cancel the appointment (barely 24 hours later), but I was told it was "too late". Thus ensued a nightmare of trying to get my money back. It has now been nearly 15 months since my first fateful phone call to Excel treatment, and I THINK I may finally have succeeded in getting full refund to my credit cards. So, here's all it took: 1) I had to hire two attorneys and begin a lawsuit process at a cost of over $1,500.00. 2) I filed five appeals to my credit card companies, and spoke to people in India, Illinois, and Nevada trying to get someone to help me. 3) I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau 4) I filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Colorado 5) I went to my local police and filed a complaint 6) I went to our county District Attorney's office and attempted to file a complaint. 7) I wrote to the Consumer Division of a Colorado help service. 8) I called and emailed the three major Denver television stations "help lines" to see if they could help me. 9) I called and emailed my local county television network to see if they could help me. 10) I spent over 100 hours fighting with credit card companies, talking to attorneys, and working with potential reporters, etc. trying to get my money back. In addition, I laid out over $1500 in legal expenses, and more money still in all the postage, time and phone calls. Today I finally received a check from my credit card company for my "overpayment" . I believe this may mean that they have considered my many requests, and finally reimbursed me. This situation has harmed my credit, made it difficult to get a home loan, affected my credit scores, and it prevented me from being able to afford other treatment for my son... BUT, at least I finally got some resolution. I promised myself that I would let everyone know when this was finally resolved. I do hope that this is finally the answer I have worked so hard towards and that there will be no more surprises from Sisco/Excel Treatment. Yea!

I would like to start off by saying by coming to this program it definitely has been a much needed life altering experience. I know from having a family member who has gone through countless rehab centers, de-tox centers and emergency and intensive care hospitalizations, that this program will work. The first major step for me was acknowledging I needed to quit and realize the self-destructive path I was on. The other programs do not have the intensity and various treatments that are available through Excel. The IV amino bags and Glutathione bags are a God send. When I first started everything from my skin color to my mental concentration to my overall health was poor. Since being in the program my family, friends and various other people have noticed the huge difference in my mental state as well as the physical and emotional progress that has occurred. Stopping cold-turley is very hard for most people to do, including myself. As far as how this has affected my life, work and family, the best way I could explain it would be almost like being born again.Or another way to say it would be that I am leaving myself for the first time to become a better me.

License Revocation of Tamea Rae Sisco, D.C. Stephen Barrett, M.D. ________________________________________ In May 2007, the Colorado State Board of Chiropractic Examiners revoked the chiropractic license of Tamea Sisco on grounds that she had "used her chiropractic license to promote a nonchiropractic enterprise." The revocation order (shown below) states that had administered intravenous treatments that were outside the scope of chiropractic. For several years, Sisco has been "clinical director" of the Excel Treatment Program, a clinic in Denver, Colorado. The clinic's program includes intravenous infusions of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, and other substances that are claimed to help cure drug and alcohol addiction. The infusion treatment is described in U.S. Patent Application 20050287226, which Sisco filed in 2001 and continued in 2005. In 1996, Sisco was placed on one year's probation for "negligence" and ordered to have her practice monitored. The 2007 order, however, notes that she took seven years to complete the probation.

Over 15 years of taking vicodin and alcohol on a daily basis had brought me to a physical and emotional hell. I had been attending AA daily, working the steps and meeting with my sponsor for 8 months. Emotionally I was healing but physically I was dying. I could not connect thoughts, my short term memory was minimal. I would sleep for 10-12 hours and feel like I never slept. My insides felt like they were SCREAMING! The anxiety was horrifying. I had come to the point of jumping off the deep end and then I found Excel treatment. After 10 treatments the screaming inside of me and the anxiety was beginning to subside. For the first time I believed there was hope for physical healing. Thank God for excel treatment. Wow! What a miracle. It takes a lot of ongoing work, going to AA meetings, working with my sponsor, eating right, talking with other recovering alcoholic/addicts and boosters from Excel. I know I'll make it.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The Excel Treatment program was a very expensive disappointment for me. Director Tamea Sisco, in my experience, is incredibly unprofessional. I feel I was taken advantage of at a time when I was most vulnerable. Luckily, I later found something else that did work. Be sure to check out all the other options out there before you think of going to Tamea Sisco's Excel Treatment.

EXCEL is a waste of money

I'm not generally a huge fan of giving advice on life changing matters, but I think this is too important to keep quiet about. I went through the program at Excel Treatment back in October of 2006 and with almost a full year of sobriety under my belt I am finally ready to say without question that the program works. I drank and used since I was a teenager, but by my 40th birthday the occasional use had become daily maintanance. I began to work the 12 steps (which provided some help) but ended up going through one 30 day and one 45 day inpatient program, both in California. They left me with the feeling that I was one of the few hopeless cases mentioned in AA's Big Book. I saw an ad for Excel in Westword. I met with Tamea at Excel and everything she said made sence, even if I didn't fully understand the technical aspects of the treatment. It's something to do with IV's that have amino acids that repair the damaged neurotransmitters. The fact that it was an outpatient program was perfect. I began feeling and looking better within a few days of my first treatment. I still attend AA meetings and likely will for the rest of my life for maintanance as well as a reminder of what could have been. I will tell whoever will listen that recovery amazing and possible with this program. Charles M.

I recieved treatment, spending $10,000 for treatmentat Excel in 2006. A WASTE It took 2 weeks of long 4 hr. intervenes drips. I live in Houston and was told I could continue my treatments in Austin. The Austin office never opened leaving me a credit for 5 treatments never received= $2500.00 I contacted Dr. Sisco for a refund. She claimed they could not sell 'my' vials. I can not have ASSIGNED vials in a office that never opened. She said I could fly back to Devner but would not refund my money. WITHOUT FOLLOW UP THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT WORK. There was no follow up on insurance or my proress after treatment.

As my life was spiraling into a black hole from the alcoholism, I finally realized that I needed to do something or risk losing everything. Initially, I felt very skeptical about all the avenues out there to help me with my sickness. Fortunately, I was referred to Excel Treatment by a family friend who had been through the program. Once I started the treatment I felt very comfortable with Tamea Sisco and her staff. They understand addiction. During the 10 day process I felt little or no pain during the detoxification which was something I was very concerned about. I am very happy that I met Tamea and her process as it has changed my life forever. I learned that there is hope, there is cure and there are people who truly care. I thank Tamea Sisco every day for the process, and I thank God every day for the strength to move forward and do what needs to be done. I wish I had done it sooner. Clean and sober since November 2004.
