ms-147241760 08/10/2008
if they can't add 2+2 we will hardly have something to talk about it depends on how different we are in regards to intellect.
Matt617 08/09/2008
As long as it doesn't affect her knowing what I'm talking about most of the time, no problem.

I have found if the person you are dating isnt close in intelligence to you it will cause problems. Not usually as many interests in common.

It's going to be hard to be with a person who sees everything in the different light.

I hate to say it but I've dumped girls because they were into: a) Michael Flatley's 'Feet of Flame' b) karaoke (not just now and then, it was her life) c) that horrible 'Beauty and the Beast' show with Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton
AndrewScott 09/27/2005
Certainly not an immediate deal breaker. However, big differences in intellect have been known to chip away at a couple's bond down-the-road. Individual personality traits determine how much this matters. If a couple still knows how to communicate with each other in enough emotionally satisfying ways, this may never be a big issue.
abichara 12/08/2004
Yeah, I will admit that I dated women whose IQ's haven't been too high, but usually these types of relationships are fun and short-lived. Once you get beyond sexual attraction, you find that there isn't much else, so it ends.

One time (after cutting raw chicken), I told a girl that I needed some anti-bacterial soap. She replied that she didn't believe in that. I said, Yeah, some people don't believe you should use anti-bacterial soap because you don't get exposed to as many germs and it lowers your body's defenses against them. Her reply: No, I mean, I don't believe in bacteria and all that stuff. I mean, you can't even see it!
bibliophile 11/23/2004
If intellect differences are too marked, I think the relationship will end by itself, anyway. There won't be much to talk about.
