Mercruy, best rock singer ever

They were OK back in the 70s,but their stuff got watered down in the 80s.Over-rated.

Great melodies, lyrics and production. The combination of them and Freddie Mercury's amazing voice made this band instantly identifiable.

Occasionally, a bunch of extremely talented musicians are blessed by being fronted by a truly great voice. This is one of those cases. One of the most impressive back catalogues and careers in the industry.

Not a member of this band is mediocre. Brian's a great guitarist and Freddie's vocals go without saying. Great band!

Amazing band. They had a lot of great songs like Under Pressure, Play the Game, My Best Friend and Bicycle Race. No one could kick it like Freddie Mercury!

queen is the best band because they do not have one bad song on there greatest hits cd. though i do wish bohemian rhapsody was on there...
kalevpoeg 12/11/2005

It's a amazing band. I don't know why it is under rated. It deserves a higher rating than The Ramones,U2, Velvet undergroung etc. After the death of Freddie Mercury(lead singer) the band was, in a way forgotten. Besides hits like "bohemian rhapsody","we will rock you", "we are the champions" etc. there other amazing songs like "hammer to fall", "i want to break free", "i want it all" etc.(which people haves'nt even heard of!!). I think it deserves a top 5 ranking.

Queen are one of the greates bands of their time. They are ridiculously talented with their instruments, but Freedie's vocal ability is what pushes them over the top.

Unquestionably one of the greatest bands of all time. Such a diverse range. SO many hard rockers. So many ballads. SO many anthems. No wonder members of Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, Extreme, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Thin Lizzy, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden and The Darkness cite Queen as a major influence. Look them up if you don't believe me. Freddie Mercury had the greatest voice in rock. Brian May is one of the most underrated guitarists. Perhaps the most passionate rock group ever. Nobody had the emotion or feeling that Queen did. Sheer perfection, these guys were.

Awesome band of the 20th century.

To start with a general observation, comments such as Freddie is God or Queen sucks doesn't help me write my own comment, help others learn something about the artist, or add anything to your star rating. With that said, Queen was not a generic 1970's classic rock band. They were glam, but not quite glam. They were hard rock, but not quite hard rock. They were prog rock, but not quite prog rock. If I had to sum up the Queen sound, the band's music was big, epic... almost as if Meat Loaf was a band fronted by a completely different vocalist in the form of the equally irrepressible Freddie Mercury. Everyone and their dead grandmother know most of Queen's signature songs (eg Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and Another One Bites The Dust); however, even the most casual fan will soon start to wonder what gems may be included on some of the full-length releases as opposed to just being limited to one of the available compilations. If one is inclined to supplement such a compilation, a good place to start is The Game (1980) and A Night At The Opera (1975).

Queen just plain rules. 'nuff said.

now come on, queen are the best. Freddie Mercury was a music genius, unsurpassable, and able to transcend time with his lyrics and haunting voice. Roger Taylor is also supremely gifted, and has a lovely gravelly voice for singing, while Brian Mays guitar is legendary, and last but not least, John Deacon, the brains behind the unforgettable bass line in under pressure. Fantastic, in a word.

From the time you hear the first note of any Queen song, you know it's Queen. No other band is as distinctive and fabulous as these guys. Freddy Mercury's voice soars and Brian May's guitar rocks and leaves you breathless. Beside the ultra popular Queen songs like We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Another One Bites the Dust they have many many other great tunes in their library that are definately worth checking out.
