This movie is one of those comedies that are funny, yet stupid, yet I still love it. I don't remember how many times I've watched this movie and practically bust my gut laughing at it all, but it was on the tv one day and I watched it and it no longer had that comedy value to me, so I remove a star. Not sure if I am becoming the old fart I once feared, or what happened, just seemed to have grown out of it.

It's a 5 star comedy. . .but a 4 star sports movie. . .perfectly captures the snotty golf-attitude found on country clubs. Anyone else think that Ted Knight as the judge was one of the greatests casting decisions ever?

One of the most retarded movies I have ever managed to sit through. It isn't even sporting to call this a sports movie...it was more like a Three Stooges Fest that happened to take place of a golf course. I was embarrassed for Bill Murray.

Just behind Animal House as one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. This movie may be one of the largest sources of comic soundbites that I can think of. There were so many great comedic performances, but the movie convinced me that Ted Knight is a comic genius. Dangerfield was funny too, but the subvert comedy of Judge Schmails is the greatest.

Personally, I've never seen the big deal. Murray's performance is among his worst ever, and the rest of the cast is pretty mediocre. Dangerfield is typical Dangerfield, and the plot is as predictable as a McDonalds menu.
