Winter 2

Im Memphis the winters are usually mild, but last winter felt like Canada for some reason. The worst part is, it only snowed once or twice, so it was usually super cold for no reason at all. I also hate having to wear 100 lb. jackets. What I think is, if it's going to be 32°F or colder, it better snow. But last year, out of the 2 snows I remember getting, only 1 was enough to get us out of school. It doesn't help when we have to go to school in 15°F weather when its snowing and cars and crashing left and right. The school board here has no regard for safety.
But, anyway, I hate winter, plain and simple.

It's my fav. season, but having lived in SW Florida for the last 10 years; I rarely got to get the chance to see it. Early last month, I moved up to NW Ohio, and I've been happy ever since :)

Not one of my favorite seasons, but as long as we have our families, health, jobs, somewhere to lay our heads at night, we can find good in anything, even winter.

I love winter....but then again, I live in Southern California where it feels more like fall than winter. Still, it's the best season out there.

Not to worry, inmyopinion, you're not alone here. I actually don't mind winter, but I suppose that's because I live in Houston. Winter provides a nice break from the continuously hot weather that plagues this area through the summer and most of the fall season. I miss northern winters- I love the snow, as long as I don't have to drive in it. For some reason, I just feel very at peace during the winter season. Provides the perfect opportunity to sit back, relax and read a good book. The season of intellectual stimulation, indeed.

I feel like a lone sole, but i like winter. Most kids like winter, and in some ways, i am still a kid at heart. All kids shold experience winter, and all adults should stop wining about it. I like all of the seasons, which is why I am glad that i get all of them in my area. Also I only had one year with a mild christmas, and it was depressing. The one Christmas i spent in NC was the WORST. And now, we haven't had a white Christmas in two years here, IN AMERICA'S SECOND SNOWIEST CITIES. Damn global warming, just damn it. During winter, i like snow, but as others have stated, its not that great in march and april, so i give it a 4.

I'm living in my home state of Wisconsin now while I go to school, and I've realized again how much I hate winter. Our high temperature last Monday was 5 degrees. We already have several feet of snow, which is wonderful for Christmas & New Year's but it tends to stick around until April. The roads are icy, so driving is a pain and the sun hardly ever shines, so all I feel like doing is sleeping. Unless you're into snowmobiling, skiing, ice fishing or skating, winter is just a bother where I live.

In the Winter I get snow days, even when there's only two inches of snow! That's whats great about living in Virginia, even if it's just slush we get snow days!

I have been in both Arizona and Pennsylvania in winter. In Arizona, you can still go swimming. In Pennsylvania, snowball fights.

I have grown to hate winters. I live in Michigan and the winters can be nasty. Bitter cold. If it snows it can snow for days and then stay cold and the snow stays forever. I am tired of digging out our cars in the winter and driving on ice and slush I will never get used to. Watching out for other drivers who drive like nuts in that bad weather is frightening. Trying to get the teens to school and college in bad weather a pain. I hate the winter gear being all bundled up yuk. Wish we could move sometimes. since I dread this upcoming winter.

Winter is just bad. You should see how it is up here in Michigan. It actually takes up 1/3 of the year and there is a lot of snow. 2 years ago there was a huge blizzard which also had frezzing rain. And I also once stuck my tounge to a pool and was bleeding after I got my tougne off the pole. All thanks to winter. In January of '02 me and my aunt an bro and cousins were in a car and the road was all slippery, and we went off the road and slammed into a ditch and we almost knocked into a Telephone Pole that could've ended my life. Thank goodness I'm still alive. Come up here to Michigan and you'll see how much winter sucks.

Winter has a lot of negatives here in the Northeast - cold, snowy, icy, gets dark too early in the day, heating costs go up, etc. However, there are a couple of positives - no bugs, no lawn and yard maintenance, and when you get a really good snowfall, it's a great time just to stay in bed most of the day and totally relax.

Just total misery if you are in the upper Midwest. I am actually from the the West Coast and spending my college years in Wisconsin. Oh gosh, I had to learn the hard way on how to live in extreme cold! Can you believe how dangerously cold it was last winter? (-25*F one time) It really cost me one body part- an ear. Never bend any part that has pure cartilage in such weather. I'll be glad to return to my hometown when I graduate.

Snow, ice, misery, no matter how much you put on you are still cold. Going out to your car and having to scrape the ice or dew off. Starting the car to warm it up, but falling flat on your tail bone. Winter is not a pleasant time. It's own pleasant indoors in front of the fireplace while drinking hot chocolate.
