Maybe it's not the greatest movie out there, but Bill Murray does a decent job in this one, and it's funny enough to keep me thoroughly entertained.

This movie is campy enough, and rediculous enough to be good.  The special effects are generous, yet it's almost as though they're making fun of the original Christmas Carol.  However, it's entertaining.  Bill Murray is always good.

For a modern-day version, it was scripted really well.

I watched this right after it came out on tape, and I can honestly say I don't remember much about it. I do remember that Carol Kane beating the crap out of Bill Murray, and she was supposed to be an angel or Christmas spirit or something like that. I do remember it wasn't a very good movie.

I saw this in its original theatrical release and was quite disappointed. Instead of filling me with Christmas spirit I found it to be mean-spirited and joyless. I like Bill Murray but this was a bad script. Instead see Murray in Groundhog Day. A great redemption tale (not unlike Dicken's A Christmas Carol), it has nothing to do with Christmas but will fill you with warmth unlike Scrooged.

I absolutely adore this film! A modern day version of Christmas Carol with humour. I absolutely love the angel who whacks Bill Murray with certain objects. It still warms my heart when he finally gets the meaning of getting along with your fellow humans, and enjoying the festive season.

Typical Bill Murray fare - which for me spells spastic, obnoxious and annoying to the point of irritation. Includes way too much pointless wisecracking and not nearly enough genuine good Christmas feeling. For instance, even when Bill sees the error of his Scrooge-like ways, he still seems pretty tongue in cheek and ready to crack wise at the first available opportunity. This one will never join my holiday video collection and will be avoided at all costs when broadcast. Yuk!

I have to admit, I love this movie. I have from the very first time I have seen it, and I would guess I have seen it at least twice a year since it has come out. Bill Murray is a charm, Bobcat Goldthwaite is great, even John Forsythe is a hoot in the Marley-type role. The ending with Bill talking to the camera is just great, the whole monologue is great. Watch for Carol Kane and David Johansen. They are hillarious! A great holiday film!
