 | irishgit (138) 05/13/2008 | Last time I checked, I was a human, so I do believe in the existence of humanity on clear empirical grounds.
If this means believing in the innate goodness or badness of humanity, I'm not so sure.

 | lmorovan (12) 05/13/2008 | No. Humanity is its worse enemy. Selfish, self destructive, insensitive, deceitful, precisely what the devil has made it become.

 | X Factor Z (13) 03/25/2008 | Most of humanity but there are a lot of stupid people out there or the likes of George W. Bush would not have been elected president. Religious intolerance, especially, is a threat to mankind.

 | XAgent (28) 02/12/2008 | Mos to the time I'm not that sure about it but then I see some random act of kindness and that gives me a bit of hope for the rest of us.

 | numbah16tdhaha (147) 02/11/2008 | Not sure. I've seen some incredible things from people, but my faith in humanity wanes every time I'm on a freeway...

 | reeny (3) 07/03/2005 | I trust humans to be human. It's here, it's there, but it seems as if we are constant downslide into chaos. I will do my best to remain optimistic, but perhaps I am wasting my time. Perhaps the world is getting smaller, I don't know. It's a tough question.

 | abichara (60) 07/02/2005 | Even for all of its rampant failures and awful letdowns, humanity has at times stood up to the task with bravery, courage and honesty. Many times the bad outdoes the good, but the good makes the ride all the more worthwhile.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 07/02/2005 | . . .the failures are prevalent, obvious, and destructive. The sucesses are rare, magnificent, and inspirational. You have to take the good with the bad, I guess.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 07/02/2005 | Got that right. I think that people can be cooperative if we reason with them.

 | BirdEgal202 (7) 01/29/2005 | I stopped a few days ago after seeing a helpless nerd get mugged by some of the more muscular, popular kids at school.

 | souljunkie (20) 08/27/2004 | If you have ever seen a good program that allows you to view the lives of much less civilized human communities..I dont even know what to call them, the remote civilizations usually filmed in a typical Discovery channel special, you will see in them the TRUE nature of humanity. And it is pure and good for the most part. They live in harmony with the world around them. It is the civilized world that is all f-----up! Especially us disfunctional Americans. I pray for us all almost every day. I fear it will take something catastrophic to wake us up. We are taught basically to learn how to live with out having to ask others for help. Dont get me wrong I love my country, but I see our Children growing up with apathy, and lack of work ethic and vision as well as a real misconception of what relationships between men and women need. We recognize differences more that things in common in our world. God bless us all.

 | Enkidu (37) 05/08/2004 | I believe in humanity to continue doing what humanity does--selfless love, altruism and self-sacrifice tempered with torture, massacre and extermination. Probably nothing will change any time soon.

 | Beloved (21) 05/08/2004 | \I believe humanity stems from LOVE and hope. Where you find these things you find humanity. The reason why I capitalized LOVE is because I am talking about the kind of LOVE JESUS taught and inspired.

 | StanUzbeck (14) 11/16/2003 | Yeah man, I believe in Humanity. To be honest, though, they don't make it very easy sometimes. That's the problem with people. We have unlimited potential, we can do practically anything, but almost none of us ever rise to that potential. We're like a huge block of granite to be sculpted by Michaelango into something beautiful and perfect, but we're reluctant to participate. We're content to stay a shapeless lump of rock. This doesn't mean I or anyone else should just give up on humanity though. In the absence of and religious beliefs, I have no choice but to believe in Humanity, because the sooner people unscrew their complacent butts from their perches and stop waiting for God to save us all from the iniquities of evil, the sooner Humanity will take the next evolutionary leap, where we will be as gods ourselves. Believe in Humanity, for despite our flaws, we still have the choice to be the best people we can be, and we need all the encouragement we can get.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (36) 11/11/2003 | So far to my knowledge, the 'bee's knees' of the universe. However, in its current form, humanity could (and will go through) use some improvements. However, these will all occur in time, and humanity will evolve into the perfect race that it is destined to become. But, until then, humanity could...learn to take life at a slower and more relaxed pace (except for those dramatic moments :)), learn to control their anger more, learn to stop using profanity and drugs and cigarettes and alcohol, stop supporting sleazy entertainment, lose its taste in reality TV, and place more imporatance on manners and intelligence than popularity and looks. But, humanity is utterly awesome, in the long run, and will only continue to get better. Sure, a bad thing might happen on the way, but as I like to say, It's all good...except MTV, of course.

 | kamylienne (77) 11/08/2003 | Definition: 1. All human beings collectively; the human race; mankind. 2. The quality or condition of being human; human nature. 3. the quality of being humane; kindness; benevolence. Well, the first two are no-brainers, we're here, so yes. The third definition can be a bit tricky, but yeah, I think there are at least some people who act out of kindness. A bigger question to ask might be if altruism exists, actually.
