I believe he was really a good man, and he was still an American, just on the wrong side lol. General Grant treated him with respect upon his surrender.
OK....Enough with the history lesson lol. I think it would be interesting to hear his thoughts on various issues.

Lincoln asked him to command the Union army, but Lee decided he could not turn his back on his Southern heritage. I would probably ask him if he regretted his decision, particularly when it became obvious that the South was going to lose.

There's no denying he was one of the best generals, if not the best, in history. He was revered as a man of honor, morals, and dignity. A true role model for all Americans.
