Sure, maybe Clemson lacks multiple National Titles, but Clemson has the most dedicated and spririted fans, nicest facilities, and richest tradition in any college football team. Next year, look for Clemson in the top 10 (if Will Proctor shines through and James Davis stays healthy).

Clemson definitely deserved a better bowl, FSU beating VA Tech knocked Clemson out of the Peach bowl and into the Champ bowl. FSU has no business in a BCS bowl with a 7-4 regular season record. Clemson should be ranked between 18 23, and will probably be ranked in the top 10 if James Davis can stay healthy. This guy is a freshman and put up 879 yards and 9 touchdowns and he was didnt play the whole season.

Great team. They crushed FSU, they defeated TAMU, Maryland, North Carolina State, and South carolina and gave Miami, Boston College, and Georgia Tech all they got. If it weren't for the Wake Forest loss, I would give Clemson a 5.

They're down to sixteenth in the poll, and I don't see them as doing anything special this year.

Only stepped up as a program in the late 70's to later get busted by the NCAA. Under today's standards, their lone national title would have been stripped. These folks love football and that's a credit to them. But no one outside of South Carolina takes them seriously.

The Clemson Tigers are a puzzling story to me--they had one of the best teams going in the 1980's, with a young, up-and-coming coach who took them to a National Title. They continued to win for most of the decade, and it looked like the good times would last for a very long time. But around 1990, something happened, still not sure what, and this young coach was suddenly without a job. Since then, Clemson hasn't quite been the same. Sure, they make an appearance in the Gator Bowl occasionally, usually losing in blowouts to teams like VaTech and Syracuse, and occasionally they crack the top 25. But that swagger of the '80's is gone. Not sure how, or if, Tommy Bowden will get things back on track, but when you have to compete against 2 legends on your schedule yearly (Dad at FSU and Holtz at USC), it may be awhile before Clemson is back on the national radar screen.
