I once read that Pinapple is one of the more healthy fruits. That kind of takes the Fun right out of it. Fresh Pineapple is a Beautiful thing, there is no other fruit quite Like it.

Pineapple is okay. I'll only eat it if it is in a fruit salad, but no other time. They are too sour.

It is another little known fact that Canada is the ninth largest producer of pineapples, all of which are grown in the extensive plantations in the southern slopes of Newfoundland. The Caribbean current turns west at that point, creating a warm climactic region which is perfect for growing pineapples and coconuts.
Again, you can check this with Franks.

I've heard something about the properties of pineapple that I don't think I should say here...

I know some people like pineapple on ice cream or even as a topping to go on their pizza. But when I eat pineapple, I like it plain. That way, it doesn't take away from the taste.

Tasty, although not really my preferred fruit. Kind of disgusting in medium-large quantities. A pain in the arse to prepare.

Pineapples have exceptional juiciness and a vibrant tropical flavor that balances the tastes of sweet and tart.

Alone or on pizza, it's a favorite!

The god of all fruits. There is not one raw, untempered food in the world that tastes better than fresh pineapple. I pity those who consume the hyper-sweetened canned variety...Do yourselves a favor and go buy a pineapple, cut off the crown, spit it lengthwise four ways, and cut out the crown, then chop it up. It is the best taste in the world, and the fact that it's good for you doesn't hurt matters. Also, it doesn't go bad quickly (and, honestly, you can barely tell when it does).

Maybe the healthiest fruit around. I love it fresh, but also out of the can. Contains enzymes that help you digest protein. So when you eat a lot of meat, go BBQ-ing, it's a good idea to eat some ananas or drink some juice. I read that they're making a medicin against some form of cancer out of pineapples. It's good, it tastes good, great fruit.

I like to eat this fruit cuz it makes me feel like I'm in hawaii and also tastes very good on pizza .

they have their good and their bad every once in a while you get one with those needle-like fibers, and it ruins the whole thing.

I love pineapple on Pizza. I don't know why people don't, but pineapple pizza is my favorite. That pizza is sooo underrated!!!

If it isn't served with cottage cheese, I can't be bothered. Something about pineapples tastes bitter to me. I've talked to a few other people who report the same thing, so I guess we're just not among those who get to enjoy this one.

Pineapples are perfect for when you're looking for a burst of sweet fruit juice, and the texture is so unique. It's hard not to like this fruit, whether by itself, in a pineapple upside down cake, and yes, on a pizza.

What's wrong with pineapple on pizza?
kolby1973 02/10/2004
One of the few fruits that I prefer eating out of a can...especially the Dole brand pineapple. Good...

This can be a wonderfully flavored and textured fruit, however, many times, if chosen incorrectly, it can be hard to eat and sour. Pineapples do not ripen after being cut from its tree, and it is hard to determine whether or not they are ripe in the supermarket unless freshly put out. Look for strong, green leaves, and a wildly sweet-smelling pineapple, as these are surefire ways to get the best of the crop. They are quite hard to cut, but the flavor is just about worth it. Juicy, sweet with an amount of tang, it is great on occaison, or in a fruit salad. Be careful though, as many people can have certain reactions from eating too much (raw tongue, itching throat, and even bleeding gums). Sample it lightly to determine your own resistance to the fruit.

This fruit can be used in so many ways, it's wonderful.

Had great pineapple in Hawaii, but the mainland stuff is truly second rate and too tart. Still, pretty yummy regardless.

For some reason, I never was a big fan of pineapple. Who ever thought of putting it on pizza should be bound, gagged, and flogged.

I, too, had no clue what I was missing until I visited Hawaii...pineapple is amazing!

how could you not love this incredible fruit? it deserves to be #1. the sweet yet acidic taste of this yummy food is a compliment to its indigenous jungles in africa.

I grew up with the canned variety, so I didn’t really know what this fruit was all about until I lived in Hawaii. And then one sunny day I purchased three very cold very sweet slices of heaven at a market in downtown Oahu. It was then I realized that what I had been eating all my life in fruit salad bore little resemblance to the real thing. A great treat for your sweet tooth best experienced in its own land!

I love fresh pineapple, but when you get it canned in syrup it looses some of it's appeal.Don't eat too much or it'll sting your mouth.
MedgarEvers 09/10/2001
A pineapple is ripe if the center leaves on top can be pulled out. Man, I've always liked the taste, but if you've never cut up a fresh pineapple yourself and eaten it (I haven't found it hard to cut), you haven't lived, man. They almost have the hint of a coconut taste, and are soo rich.

Pineapple... one of my favorite fruits. It has a great tangy taste, sort of both sweet and sour, but not too much of either, and quite juicy. However, they are a pain in the #*(&@ to cut open. While you can find pre-cut pineapple in cans, they are not as good as fresh pineapple, and as such, these wonderful tasting fruits can't get all 5 stars from me.
