Killing would be the easy way out for this bastard! Let him rot in a prison, loose with the general population, they will take care of him. To kill him would make him a martyr. At the same time as we get him, (and we will) we must get his organiztion as well. The people that are hiding him will be giving him up soon. We just have to give them a way to save face. They are afaid we will attacking them.

This is good but it will only solve part of the problem. He is in charge of a lot of terrorism but not all of it. Assassinating him will help but isn't enough alone. My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and the rescuers. NEVER LOSE HOPE!!!

I've never believed in the deathpenalty and am still opposed to it. However I tend to go by the notion that if a man/woman has killed a large number of innocent people, he/she should be dealt with and that the law should come down hard on that person(s). Osama bin Laden is a tricky man. A millionare that lives like a (parden the expression) bum. I don't think I could agree with people wanting to kill him, but I can agree that he does not DESERVE to live. It's a wonder that this man can sleep at night. As we're still not sure he did it, it's a sensitive issue. However he has done a lot of harm and caused a lot of grief to so many people around the world and should suffer the consequences of his terrible acts. The bad part (as I mentioned in the 'Assasinate know terrorist leaders' section) is that just because you kill Osama bin Laden, his 'gang'members are most likely to NOT stop with what they're doing. If they truly believe violence is the answer, they will be even more convinced if violence kills their leader. Just because Hitler is dead doesn't mean that there aren't any more nazist around. And just because you kill Osama bin Laden, terrorism will (probably) not go away either.

My immediate response is yes. I do agree with "Magellan's" comment on a NYS prison being worse for bin Laden than death. However, my fear is that he would be able to operate from prison, somehow. It would sicken me to have him in America. These terrorists do not value human life. How could we let him live? How could our taxpayer money go to clothing, sheltering and feeding this monster in our prison? I just can't fathom that. In my opinion, this was a declaration of war. Using our airplanes, our citizens, our fuel to kill our people..our brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, parents. It is a disgrace and so much more horrendous that they used our own people to commit this heinous crime.

I agree that Osama bin Laden is a monster and doesn't deserve to live, but I'm not sure assassinating him is the answer. Especially if the government did it. The U.S. was built on the idea of a fair trial. Besides, many people who lost loved ones in the Oklahoma City bombing said that putting Timothy McVeigh to death did not help to ease their suffering, because we weren't being any better than he was by killing others. However, if someone who wasn't the government decided to assassinate him out of the blue, I wouldn't be upset about the loss of him at all.

If you had operable cancer wouldn't you have the operation rather than suffer the consequences? It's time to locate the CORRECT tumor(s) and rid the world of this disease. If we let it go on until they have time to aquire nuclear weapons it will be too late for anyone to survive. DOESN'T ANYONE COMPREHEND THIS?

This awful monster should have been shot long ago.

I don't believe in the death penalty, and I don't believe in government sponsored assasinations. I do believe in hunting down the person or people responsible for the 9/11 attacks (whether it was bin Laden or not), and bringing them to justice. Something tells me that a New York State Maximum Security Prision might be worse than death for a terrorist.
