 | Uncle Banana Head (1) 08/28/2008 | Regular moshing I give two stars, because it's like being 'sardine canned' in with a sweaty menagerie of thrashing people. Thus: *
Circle Pits I give six stars to for being much more fun, expressive, and orderly (in sort of a disorderly manner) than so-called 'conventional mosh pits': ******

 | DeadlyApple (0) 01/31/2005 | someone said it's not dance but an expression of anger.....isn't dance an expression of every kind of emotion possible. Ok dance isn't the first word i would associate moshing with but it's a group of people expressing wild emotions and enjoying it. And yeh i totally agree with the fact that everyone does look out for everyone and the whole falling down thing, is a scramble of people trying to pick someone up, people apologise if they get too rough and it is an amazing adrenline rush but again isn't dance supposed to make you feel good!?

 | deie3 (0) 07/06/2003 | No matter what many old school moshers tend to think about moshing today... it's growing and changing just like everything else. Moshing is an adrenaline rush! It's a Great feeling even to just be NEAR the mosh. For some people, standing and watching the band or performer, they have to participate in the music. There is a certain etiquet that moshers practice. It's like an unwritten law. People that enter the mosh know the risks. they do it because it's compeling. They trust the other moshers, that they aren't drunk or too violent. Once you enter that mosh... or are even on the sidelines, watching and bouncing others you are all a family. Visit www.crowdsafe.com if you still wanna check things out. There are now people who are trying to make it safer, by banning seating areas, cigarettes, drinkers, and certain types of jewelery. it's all legit.

 | getoffmyfoot (0) 05/22/2003 | I love moshing. When I first started going to shows about two years ago I always loved watching people mosh, just the energy from the mosh pit made me love it even more even though I was too chicken to jump in it. Now when I go to a show I usually mosh and I love doing it. As people have said before, it is not for everyone. No one has ever died from moshing, sure people get injured but if they go in a mosh pit they should know that there's a high chance of getting a few bruises and maybe even more depending on the people and the club.
As fun as moshing can be, there's probably always going to be some butthole trying to ruin everyones fun. Most of the time people just ignore this and keep moshing. The best thing about most mosh pits (around here at least) is that whenever someone even remotely falls down, people like, fricken scramble to go help the person up. I think it's beautiful because you feel like people are looking out for you and it makes you feel good when you help someone up off the ground.

 | mobilebuzz (14) 05/01/2003 | This is not a form of dance but merely form of expression of anger.

 | Jason1972 (6) 12/17/2002 | It was fun at one time, but that was back in the mid 80s during Metallica's uprising. Now, everyone's doing it and it's getting repetitive now.

 | Lord of the Waves (0) 11/22/2001 | Incredibly pointless. Many people are injured and it is too easy. no real technique is involved. Moshing doenst do anything for me.

 | Potch1214 (0) 11/18/2001 | Okay. I have done my share of moshing. I was into Leeway and Gwar and all sorts of metal bands and mohing was the very in thing to do. I was young, I was crazy, it was fun, it was hip. Now I'm thirty. I still listen to those bands, but lots of other music too. Now I wouldn't ever consider moshing again. Now I see it as an excuse (more often than not it seems) to beat other people up (with a trade-off of being beaten yourself) without having to get arrested for doing so. Is it a realease? Sure. But have I seen one too many guys being stomped on or pulled, bloody, from a pit? You bet your butt I have.

 | Talena (0) 11/14/2001 | At pretty much every rock concert, big or small, you will find a mosh pit. Although many people believe mosh pits are just a violent thing that only drunk people take place in, moshing (also called "slam dancing") is actually a way for anyone to express themself. It allows you to express the way that the music makes you feel. Loud guitar riffs and rapid drum beats can make a person feel so much energy, and getting into a mosh pit is just a way to let yourself go and to release all of your energy. Mosh pits can be really scary, though, and after an experience in a mosh pit one may find themselves bruised, battered and bloody. But when your are actually in a mosh pit, you are so excited that you can't even feel any blows from the people you are moshing with until you get out of the pit...the mosh pits get you so involved with yourself that you are numb to anything else. Anyways, moshing is a fun type dance and a fun ritual at concerts...but it is definitely not for everyone.
