Some people claim to be Christians. They commit murder and rape. Therefore, Christians commit murder and rape.

This is another favourite here, although they usually substitute all for some.

"Some Muslims hate America. Some people who hate America are terrorists. Therefore all Muslims are terrorists." or

"Some southerners are racists. Some racists join the Ku Klux Klan. Therefore all southerners are in the Klan."

This is usually easy to spot. Some people who like country music are stupid. John likes country music. Therefore John is stupid.

On the RIA we often see it in attacks on the South. Some people from the South are stupid hillbillies. John is from the South. Therefore John is a stupid hillbilly.

This is an example of the fallacy.. not an explination of it.

Example: Basketball stars are tall. Your mom is tall. Therefore, your mom's a basketball star.

God is love. Love is blind. Ray Charles is blind. Therefore, Ray Charles is God. Hey, it could happen.
