I think he's great, who doesnt. He may not v had the same commercial success as some of the other greats, but its understandable. His compelling and adventurous music is not for the faint hearted. A true lej!

His stinging guitar work with the late, great Yardbirds was enough to put him near the top of the list. The 'Truth' album is a true classic and his fusion work is also legendary. As for teaching Jimmy Page to play, well that is simply balderdash! They were comtemporaries and each had a lot to add in his own right. 'Nuff said. There's plenty of room for both of them. Thanks to the British blues scene for giving us Clapton, Beck, Page, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Alvin Lee.....Can't we all just get along?

A true innovator. Right up there with Jimi and Frank.

For the guy who is often credited with starting the Heavy Metal genre with Truth, to 5 years later come out with a stirring record like Blow By Blow suggests that there was an incredibly deep well of creativity. Sadly his career is so full of stops and starts that its hard to assess his place in the big picture.

I had the opportunity to usher at a Jeff Beck concert at the Fox in Atlanta many years ago...I was a big fan, and I still am. I got in for free, but I would have paid the price of a ticket just for the soundcheck that I was privileged to hear that evening. Staggering!

Jeff Beck is amazing! Check out the albums Beck-Ola & Truth these two 60's albums are the birth of Heavy Metal. The 70's saw JB delve into the Jazz/Fusion guitar with classic albums Blow by Blow & Wired Prior to all that Beck was already a Rock Star with the Yardbirds. JB is one of the all time greats!

Incredible! Worthy of 5-stars, but is #3 on my all-time list. #1- Phil Keaggy from Glass Harp. I wish more people knew him. #2- Warren Haynes from Gov't Mule, Allman Bros.

Les Paul is a friend of mine and he thinks Jeff is the best rock guitarist. I agree!!

Jeff Beck is way overlooked as a guitarist. Not even using a pick he creates some of the most amazing sounds with a guitar. Probably my favorite single guitarist. I think he is definitely top three or five material.

He's amazing, but not worthy of the best.

Not enough have ever recognized Jeff Beck as a great guitarist. He should certainly be rated higher on this list. Not as commercially popular as several of his contemporaries, and not worthy of the best of all time rating, his cult of followers will argue until dawn about his superiority. And don't you dare yawn!
