My personal favorite Hendrix song. Back in 1968 a friend said to me that he could listen to the song over and over and never grow tired of it. I wish I could find him today (Ed Lenahan, where are you?) to tell him that he was right. The song still amazes me in the way Hendrix and drummer Mitch Mitchell blend so well together especially on the last third of the song. Even if I live to be 100, every time I hear the song I become 16 again and start drumming on the table and my mind takes me back to another time. I'm gonna be a hell of an old man someday.
